Chapter one: Preparation for the big day

"so which colour do you think will suit me??" Sophia said asking her best friend Vanessa. Sophia is having a hard time trying to pick another dress for her second appearance to meet her grandparents business partners. She has picked her birthday dress for a grand entry but the second one seems to be a problem. "Sophie you know the red one is gonna..." "sweet heart I think pink will be the best colour for your flawless skin" Bianca said interrupting Vanessa while looking at the fashion Magazine. "Mum remember you and dad promised to let me do things my own way this time around so keep your opinion thanks" Sophia said chuckling. Bianca who seemed to be engrossed in the magazine that she was reading smiled and replied "Alright I won't interfere anymore I'll just keep my opinions in my head, you girls can carry on with your stuff"

Sophia's P. O. V

Gosh I'm so excited about my birthday well it's not about the party tho, I'm excited cause I'll be free to do whatever I want lol.My mum and dad are the sweetest people I've ever known my uncle and aunt too. My cousin brother is an amazing person and I can't stop thinking about the surprise he'll have for me this year, well I can say my cousin sister Sonia is the best amongst all (note the Sarcasm).

But my mum and dad can be annoying too, I've always lived my life like a princess (a spoilt brat one tho).I get everything I want but not everything, I've my personal maid and a guard too. I've always wanted to experience life,work ,make my own money not living under my family's wealth, hurrying to catch a train,drink,go clubbing with my bestie without having bodyguards around us but then no cause my parents won't let me.Talk about the house chores they won't let me do it cause I might hurt myself I know they love and care about me but then I want to do things my own way cause i believe i'll live on my own someday and that's the reason why i started learning how to do house chores as a wife and as mother when i turned 18 with the help of my personal maid/friend and some tips from YouTube.

Mum made a promise to me that when i reach 21 she'll let me live my life with bothering me and i know she'll keep her promise.

Enough about that I've a problem right now,I can't find a perfect dress for my second entry all the dress samples here are beautiful but i think I'm in love with the red sequin gown.

I didn't invite too many people to my party cause i don't have a lot of friends. Honestly Vanessa and Gina are the only friends I have.So I guess my birthday party is gonna be a semi business party cause I saw the list of people my mum invited.... boring.

I've a special after party hangout with Vanessa and some of her friends that she invited. We'll go to a club to have fun lol,it gonna be great cause there'll be no parents,no guards I'm so excited.

I'm thirsty i need a drink ASAP

Sophia stood up from the sofa and walked the kitchen.She opened the refrigerator and took out a strawberry juice,her throat was dry she drank the juice and asked her mum if she wanted some which she replied no.

"Sophie get me one.....no wait I'll come get it myself" Vanessa stood up and walked to the kitchen she took a drink for herself and turned to Sophia while speaking in a low tone "Soph is your mum aware about the after party hangout?" "yes she knows" Sophia replied while taking a sip of the strawberry juice "huh?? why did you tell her,i thought you said you wanted it to be just us no bodyguards?" Vanessa asked glaring at Sophia" hey relax,chill i told her but then she doesn't know the location besides my parents can't back down on their words and you're asking as if we're doing something bad"Sophia said staring at Vanessa" it's nothing you know i haven't done this before Sophia" "same Vanessa besides your friends are coming with us so chill"Sophia said " Sophia the pizza you ordered is here"Bianca said "Okay mum.. let's go back inside I'm so hungry"Sophia said " me too and don't look at me like that I've been working so I'm so hungry let's...." her words were cut off by Sophia" Vanessa you ate like 35minutes ago and don't complain to me when you can't fit into your dress" "Sophia you're speaking like you're a saint you know you eat a lot more than me and you know that, it's just that you're lucky with your body" Vanessa said sulking "I don't eat a lot..." they continued their bantering until they got to the sitting room.

Sophia took a slice of pizza and started eating,she ate it hurriedly "Sophia eat properly like a lady" Bianca scolded Sophia "mum you won't understand I'm just so hungry" Sophia replied with her mouth filled with pizza " just stop talking eat" Bianca said while Sophia gave her an apologetic look and continued eating.Vanessa took a little bite from her slice of pizza and complained to Sophia"I just wonder how you eat so much without getting fat" Vanessa said sulking" I've to cut down my food intake so I can fit into my dress" " hahaha that's my nature Nessa but I like it that" Sophia said " Sophia hurry up we still have a lot to do"Nessa said " okay"

Sophia's P.O.V

Nessa thinks that we still have a lot of things to do, well my mum has taken care of everything. The theme of my party is Hollywood style. My birthday gown is ready, the colour is white with a touch of pink the tail of the gown.My mum already hired big event planners so we don't have to worry about anything except for my sweet cousin sister.Gosh she's so annoying besides I don't know why she hates me but I don't give a f*ck. I'm prepared for any nonsense she has cooked up.

Everything is set for Sophia's birthday that's just in two days. Bianca has been supervising everything and the organizers have made everything ready.

George Smith has been out of town for two days,he had a business meeting out of town but one thing is sure,he can't miss his granddaughter's birthday. In as much as he doesn't want her to suffer or make bad decisions that will ruin her life but he has to let her experience life on her own. Besides he can't back down on his words about letting Sophia make her decisions.

Back to the Smith's mansion

"Everything is perfect just the way i sorry just the way you want it sweetie" Bianca said to Sophia with smiles on her face."Alright mum, thanks you're the best. Please mum don't let Sonia come close to my dress,it was delivered a few minutes ago and the Sonia i know might try to pull some stunts on my dress mum" Sophia pleaded "don't worry I've the key to the dressing room,i won't let her or anybody go in there ".

Everything is set Sophia is just waiting for the D-Day but there's more to it.
