A strong hand wrapped around her wrist and then tugged her with a force that she gasped in surprise when the breath left her lungs.
Yin Zhu felt her hair flying behind her as the wind tickled her but her vision was locked on the man who was holding her almost effortlessly with one hand. But he does not pull her, he left her hanging at that dangerous angle that might get her killed in a way she wouldn't like.
She felt her legs shake as she stared at the man who was looking at her through his curtained bangs hidden behind those dark long locks that carefully curled around his face.
Yin Zhu felt him unwrap his fingers one by one and as his fingers slipped from her wrist, she felt herself struggling to hold on against the tiny rocks and sharpened edges. She was going to fall this man was going to let her fall and watch it happen.
" Please don't," she hurriedly reached out her hand that was dangling on her side and caught his arm. " Don't let go of me."
The man raised his head as his long bangs that were covering his eyes parted with the rustling winds. Since the sky was covered with clouds and Yin Zhu had little to no light to see the man's face but somehow she still managed to get a glimpse of the man.
When she saw the portrait of this man in Madam Huo's house she thought that the painter might have made a mistake while capturing his eyes.
Because no matter who it was, as long as they were alive their eyes would brighten with emotions of any type. Even anger, grief and regrets could be seen in the eyes of those who were lost and upset with the world.
But now that Yin Zhu was looking at the man who was holding her by her wrist, she realised that the painter didn't make any mistake. No, if anything he did justice to this man like no one else could have.
The eyes of this man were dim as the dark gloom of the night, like the palace where he lived. They were so dark that they were almost hidden because of the darkness surrounding them, if Yin Zhu wasn't feeling the cold bite of this man's touch against her skin, she would have taken him as dead already.
Because that was how his eyes were——dead, haunting, predatory.
His face was chiselled and angular, like a work of art. His face was like the ones who called for a woman's undivided attention but Yin Zhu knew that this face was more of a trap than anything else.
" Stunning," she heard the man say as he looked down at her, with his free hand he wiped the pad of his thumb against the corner of her eyes and only then did she realise that she was actually crying with fear.
His voice was like smoked honey, sweet but suffocating.
Maybe it has to do something with the way his voice slithered between the two of them like a poisonous snake.
Yin Zhu looked back at the chasm that had no end and then back to the man who was studying her like she was some sort of puzzle he was trying to solve. His gaze fell on her shaking legs and Yin Zhu who was going to demand him to pull her up swallowed her words.
She was bossy, immature and everything that her sister called her but she wasn't a fool, she knew that the man held her life in her hands and it would be simply foolish of her if she was to say anything irresponsible at this moment.
" Not you…" he said again. " Your tears."
Was he a psychopath?
He caught hold of her hand that was holding his wrist and one by one he freed his hand from her octopus clutches and then he slapped her hand that was holding onto his aside and then started to loosen his grip on her wrist again.
Yin Zhu felt her feet slip and several rocks slid down as she screamed in terror.
All right that does it, she didn't care about whether the man was the young master of the Situ family or not, she glared at him hard as she croaked in a choked-up voice, " What..what the hell do you think you are doing huh?"
Her heart shuddered as terror ripped through her ribs and travelled all the way to her eyes. She could have died just now, what was child's play to this young master was nothing but trauma to her.
" What does it look like?" He asked curiosity brimming in his voice, there was no stutter, no remorse nothing. It was as if he telling her how good the weather was today. " You were the one who came running here right? Surely, you wished to kill your self did you not instead of letting me finish you? Then I am doing just that, if you die then I will commemorate your memory together with your family and if you don't then I will finish you myself."
He added with a shrug.
