"This place is still as shabby as ever" commented Narissa as she looked up at the apartment complex her mousy friend lived in.

"Well, it was the least expensive" not the cheapest, everything is expensive when it comes to apartments.

Though, the prices will certainly take a big hit with the string of murders, there was always light in darkness as they said.

The three girls made their way to the elevator, which had the kindness of functioning properly.

"Urgh, what is this smell?" Marina pinched her nose as soon as she entered the elevator, having been assaulted by a horrible reek.

"Someone took a shit in the elevator a few days ago and the smell hasn't gone away" Gabrielle shook her head.

She lived on the sixth floor and once the door to the elevator opened, the utter silent hit them even harder than the scent of feces infused in the elevator.

It had been a little while since the other two had gone to her apartment but they still clearly remembered that this place was always noisy, especially that guy on the end of the right hallway that was always blarring music, even when he wasn't even in his apartment, the sound of loud laughter and people just walking around as if they were wearing weighted shoes.

There was also that one guy that was apparently doing some wood working for some reason, without those annoying and noisy people, the place felt as if it had been killed.

They could hear the sound of their footsteps and their voices echoing down the hallways on each side.

As they arrived near Gabrielle's door, Marina put her hand on her pocket and realised she was missing her keys, she looked back and thankfully, she had dropped them just after exiting the elevator.

She told the other two to go ahead while she went to retrieve her keys, she simply walked over, bent down and just as she raised her head, she started hearing the sound of someone running and before she could turn to look, someone had bolted right past her, almost knocking into her.

Some girl that seemed the same age as her was running for the stairs, which seemed curious, even if she was in such a hurry, certainly the elevator would be fast enough.

Considering the smell though, perhaps that she prefered to avoid it.

Without thinking, Marina had stepped toward where that girl had went before just shaking her head and turning around, only to bump into someone's chest.

"Oh sorry..?" she asked has her tone shifted suddenly, the person hadn't budged when she hit them but most importantly, they clearly had nothing to do here.

It was the purple-eyed man, this place wasn't just an apartment complex, it was meant for college students and if that guy was one, then Marina certainly would have known.

He didn't go unnoticed after all, with how well he was dressed, his looks and most importantly, his deeply unusual eye color.

He didn't respond to her however, nor did he look at her really, he just began walking again, at the exact same pace as when she had seen him before, walking toward where that girl had went.

"Excuse me, but what are you doing here? Who are you?" she asked, trying to get the attention of this now very suspicious man but he didn't acknowledge her at all and soon disappeared after taking the door to the stairs.

Marina was a bit confused about his weird behavior and honestly, she thought that he was up to no good, so she walked back toward Gabrielle's apartment, she should have a landline for her to call the police with.

This complex was supposed to not be accessible without a certain code after all, so this man had at least broken inside of here and certainly seemed to have been terrorising that girl from before.

When she got there, her two friends seemed to have their attention taken by something outside the window, looking down as well, she got there just in time to see who she supposed to be that girl from before swinging a car door open before driving out, in such a hurry that she hit pretty much all of the possible obstacles before making her escape.

"What is up with her?" wondered Narissa as there was nothing in sight that could justify such precipitation.

"Wait a little bit" said Marina before then reaching for the phone, it was close to the window so she could still see outside.

The girl in a hurry had made a mistake in her attempt to get away as fast as possible, she had drove in the wrong direction and just taken what might look like a road but was just a dead end leading into some small woods, inside of which, one would need to drive in reverse to get out.

As Marina had thought, after a few minutes, the man in grey walked out, straight in the direction the girl had taken, without even stopping a second, as if he already knew exactly where she was.

Narissa and Gabrielle didn't know it was the man in grey and from the sixth floor, it wasn't easy to tell, so they didn't connect things instantly but his get up was still quite specific.

Meanwhile, Marina had called the police and with how on edge they were, they arrived in record time.

The first police car to get there had two officers inside, the two of them quickly went the way the girl had gone but on foot.

"I see a car Lidia" called out one of them.

"I see it too Jeremy, go on the right, I'll take the left" responded the other and they had quickly circled the whole vehicle, there was no one inside.

The investigation in the woods would recover the remains of the girl, another victim of the serial killer, another tragedy, however, the police now had a clear description of the culprit.

A man in his mid-twenties, with jet black hair, around one meter and eighty centimeters tall, wearing a grey suit.

None of the three girls had mentioned the weird eye color since they knew that this sort of thing wasn't possible, so as to avoid being doubted, they ommited it.
