It was only after he fought with them at close range that he realized the changes appearance-wise of the Honkai Beasts he fought. Maybe it was because his device wasn't for gaming that he couldn't tell the difference immediately.

'Those Honkai Beasts were made of different materials and their size is big as well response system is better'. Uesugi Shuu carefully pondered as he saw that the time limit was 1 hour and 45 minutes left.

Afterward, he glanced at the mission screen and witnessed something he couldn't believe

Option 2: Kill 10 Chariot/Seraph Class Honkai Beast without assistance

Reward: New equipment and Rebirth Liquid

Progress: 1/10

His jaw nearly dropped onto the ground from speechlessness. While the scene of him crashing into the archangels seemed easy, since their size was bigger, they required more strength to finish off

And the progress rate, didn't it mean that he needed to kill 9 groups of Archangels before accomplishing the mission, in addition with the attention the fight creates, his stamina will deplete fast.

At this rate, he would be in no condition to deal with a Templar Honkai Beast, which was banded together with another 11.

Despair covered his face as he realized his nativity. If this world is reality, why would they call him? the ability to interfere with this world shown during his first mission means that someone is behind him and cannot directly make a move

This means that his existence requires him to be a chess piece and fight Honkai on behalf of someone. 

Initially, it wouldn't have mattered since he would be able to meet the characters that he so craved, but the difficulty is beyond hard right now, it's Hell stage.

He was on the verge of giving up. It has been less than a day but it's been filled with rollercoasters of emotions for him

'Should I give up?'

'But there's Kiana Mei, Bronya, and the people of St Freya I want to meet'

'The difficulty right at the beginning is way beyond beginners level, I want a starting pack at least'

'At least tell me why I transmigrated and my purpose in this world '

The conglomerate amount of thoughts caused him to drown in a sea of negativity

Silence filled his surroundings. The dead fish eyes stared at the mission screen again, '1 hour and 20 minutes'

Sulking around caused him to waste more time than learning Honkai Energy Manipulation and fighting the Archangel

While he was hugging his knees with his face down, the display window appeared out of nowhere with eclipses displayed on it.

It seemed to respond to Uesugi's downgrading performance and realized its harshness. A sigh reverberated within the area. 

Despite being a soft sigh, the power contained was immense and otherworldly as if it shouldn't exist in this world. 

A tremor shook Uesugi who was depressed and quickly got into a combat position. He raised his head and sensed no presence besides himself. 

Shocked by his senses, he felt that the world was truly against him. Honkai Beasts beyond their rank, mysterious Valkyries with abnormal strengths. All of this never appeared in the storyline of the game.

"Child, why do you fear death". The sound echoed inside his head this time, it caused his mind to blank out as his eyes stared into the faraway distance

'While I am not prone to human desires, you are a candidate for reforming this world due to your desires and beliefs. That the saviors of this world shouldn't suffer as they should. It continued influencing Uesugi who it succeeded

The blank eyes slowly gained clarity, he did not know who was behind his back or why Honkai Impact 3rd changed so much. But the protagonists, the antagonists, the side characters, and the many people of the world. What was the catchphrase of this story?

"Fight for all that's beautiful in this world"

Uesugi regained his calm. His temperament changed as he realized the effects of 'enlightenment' on his spirit. When he activated [Focus], the dreamy sight of Honkai Energy was unreal to him. Then now, the world was truly open to him, he accepted it while Earth embraced him

Surreal as it sounds, he could feel the effects of Honkai Energy flowing more conveniently in his body. While his strength may not have reached a breakthrough, his mindset and endurance have increased a large amount.

"Thank you whoever you are, I'll repay this gratitude in the future". With a newfound resolve, he clasped his and bowed to the air.

He could not sense the presence but felt that it nodded in appreciation before leaving distinctively. 

Heaving a sigh that let out his fatigue. Uesugi headed out without looking at the mission board. This time, he was more open and ran towards the closest tremors

'Earlier, my battle strength should be considered between Chariot/Seraph and Knight-Class Honkai Beasts. Within 1 hour, I must temper my strength before dealing with the Templar Honkai Beasts near the portal'. Thinking steadily of a plan to deal with the Templar Honkai Beasts, Uesugi reached his destination

A Chariot Honkai Beast, larger than a two-story building and covered in purple lines on its white armor. It had two legs and carried itself steadily as it waved its arm recklessly at the buildings

Once again, compared to its counterpart in the game, it was twice as big.

Without further ado, Uesugi shot himself towards the Honkai Beast.

'To topple a building, we must first break its legs'. Imbuing Honkai Energy into his legs, he dropkicked towards a weak point detected with the talent [Focus].

His figure blurred and like a falling star, collapsed and landed heavily at the Achilles heel of the Chariot Honkai Beast

*Snap*

The entire leg broke as it fell unstably trying to support itself. Without letting this chance go, Uesugi resumed his beating routine. Landing fists toward sections of the purple line on the Honkai Beast

A monstrous scream echoed into the surroundings before it dropped with no signs of life left

Uesugi didn't let his guard down as he prepared himself for the next foe

This time, he planned on leaving with a half-dead body to redetermine his resolve

Waves upon waves of Honkai Beasts approached his location and resounded. The Seraph Archangels with it's wings and small size tried to sneak attack on him

Their attempts were halted as Uesugi with his 30 INT picked up their movements without his eyes seeing

Afterward, four Chariot Honkai Beasts surrounded him. Using the same tactic as before without building up his powers, he tumbled them and pounded them flat

Panting heavily from exhaustion, Uesugi felt his limits and began to retreat.

Fighting bravely does not account for recklessness. While the explanations sounded short, he relied on Guerilla tactics to slowly whittle down their numbers

50 minutes was left and his second option was 75% accomplished.

Hiding in an alleyway that has yet to be destroyed. Uesugi sat in a meditation position and started recuperating his strength while analyzing his battle for any faults and improvement

'[Focus] takes a toll on my spirit. I should try limiting its usage and stop being over-reliant on it in the future.'

Of course, he'll depend on it since his manhood was on the line. The game ended when the main protagonist was only 17 years old

Doesn't that mean he'd be fighting alongside without his third leg? As a man, his pride and dignity could not allow that

His fighting spirit burnt weirdly this time but it allowed him to remain focused.

After 10 minutes of rest, he ran off again. Shortly after, he encountered a group of zombies on the road

They were the recently corrupted people infected by the portal's appearance.

Some of them held scythes while the rest carried archers. They worked as a team as they advanced towards Uesugi

When the close-range zombies closed up on him. The archers shot around him, blocking off his retreat. This caused him unable to dodge as he faced the incoming scythe with a fist

*Snap*

Hitting the sharp end of the blade caused a line of blood to appear on his fist, but the scythe broke and jolted the zombie's hand, rendering it helpless for Uesugi's killer move that twisted its head in a 180`spin

Facing the other three zombies, he sent them flying towards the archers who were reloading their bows. They collided heavily with each other before Uesugi landed like a shooting star, ending their lives

'Ordinary zombies aren't my match anymore, but if it's a wraith, I'd struggle against them'. Uesugi thought before seeking Chariot/Seraph Honkai Beasts.

The mission lasted until option 3 was completed. If he accomplished option 2, he'd be able to receive the rewards before his battle against the Templar Honkai Beasts.

Wondering aimlessly, he thought about the new equipment, hoping it'd be a gauntlet. Despite using a bat efficiently against his first zombie opponent, he felt more comfortable crushing enemies with his fists.

'If I main using gauntlets, I should become Fu Hua's disciple. Learning Taixuan Mantra and hand-to-hand combat from her will raise my combat prowess greatly.' After piercing through the defense of the Seraph Honkai Beast in front of him, he heard a voice that caused joy to rise once again
