"You have the power to close down all the news agency in this city...You've already gotten to the top of the ladder...I'm still climbing it" Ji Cheng said as he looked at Ji Meiling who was smiling at him.

"What?" He asked a bit startled by her reaction.

"Why do I get the feeling that you don't want this engagement to happen?" Ji Meilimg asked.

"Tell me yours and I'll tell you mine" Ji Cheng said

Tell you what?" Ji Ming asked as she played with the straw inside her juice.

"Come on...you know what I'm talking about" Ji Cheng said.

Ji Meiling sighed and said

"Well...you know...since no secret can be hidden forever...I just thought I'd help them reveal it" Ji Meiling said with a smile on her face.

Ji Cheng nodded and became quiet for a while and said.

"I really don't want this engagement to happen."

Ji Meiling laughed out loud when she heard that.

"Why?...don't you like her?" Ji Meiling asked.

"No I don't" Ji Cheng answered.

"Then why don't you back down?" Ji Meiling asked as she took a sip from her juice.

"I can't...it's not as that simple" Ji Cheng answered.

Ji Meiling was confused by his answer.

"Grandfather" Ji Cheng answered. Ji Meiling's face became pale.

"He's threatening to divorce grandmother if I don't get married to Si Yan" Ji Cheng explained further.

Ji Cheng's phone suddenly rang. He looked at the caller ID and saw that it was his mother.

"Pretty sure they must have heard about us" Ji Cheng said with no intention of answering the call.

"You should go" Ji Meiling said.

"What about you?" Ji Cheng asked. He would rather sit and talk with her all day than to go home and face his family.

"Don't worry...I'll be fine" Ji Meiling assured.

Ji Cheng left the pastry shop and drove off.

Ji Meiling stayed in the pastry shop till evening. As the sun was going down, she decided to take a walk and enjoy the cool evening breeze.

After walking for about 30 minutes, a Maybach pulled up in front of her. Ji Meiling was puzzled. A gentleman came out of the car and walked towards her.

"Miss Ji" Shi Ping said with a gentle smile on his face. Ji Meiling looked at him trying to remember his face but she did not seem to know him at all.

"My boss would like you to join him in the car."

"Thank you...I'll walk" Ji Meiling said as she turned to leave but she saw two men standing in front of her.

"I'm sorry Miss Ji but I wasn't asking" Shi Ping said as he kept his smile on his face. He was obviously threatening her.

Ji Meiling didn't have any choice but to accept plus she also wondered who his boss was. She stood in front of the car. Whether it was out of fear or curiosity, she entered.
