Chapter 14: Fighting Two at Once!

"Berserker?!"

Hearing Assassin's words, Saber fixed her gaze on the new arrival. The heavy armor of unknown material, the massive sword plunged into the ground, and the ominous aura surrounding him all pointed to the source of the earlier tremors—it was likely caused by this formidable Servant.

From just his appearance, it was clear that this Servant was incredibly strong.

"!"

Without saying a word, Berserker grabbed the massive sword with one hand and swung it effortlessly.

Whoosh!

The gust of wind from the swing was so powerful that it blew Saber's and Assassin's hair back.

"Are you planning to interfere in my duel with Assassin? Do you intend to fight both of us at once?" Saber asked, her glowing sword still in hand.

Whoosh!

"?!"

Berserker wasted no time in answering. Despite wielding such a massive sword, his movements were lightning-fast.

Clang!

He swung the sword downward with tremendous force, and Saber barely had time to raise her holy sword to block it. The clash between the cursed sword and the sacred blade sparked violently.

Crack!

The ground beneath Saber's feet caved in under the pressure, her legs sinking into the earth.

'What overwhelming strength!' Saber thought, struggling to hold her ground. It was the first time she felt so overpowered, barely able to withstand the crushing weight of Berserker's attack.

"Saber! Don't look directly at his sword!" Assassin called out, already aware of the danger.

"Huh?"

Saber, momentarily confused, glanced up only to see a crimson "dragon's eye" formed by the purplish-black aura surrounding Berserker's blade.

'Is this the dragon's rage and hatred?' Saber thought as her body froze, paralyzed by the malevolent force radiating from the sword. The heavy blade pressed down further, threatening to crush her.

'Damn, at this rate…!'

Just as the blade was about to land a devastating blow, Assassin leaped in. Holding both his broken sword and scabbard, he struck Berserker.

"Flying Sword Style: Double Dragon Slash!"

The force of the dual strike against Berserker's helmet was enough to stagger the hulking figure, pushing him back and freeing Saber from the weight of his attack.

"Thanks, Assassin!" Saber called out, grateful for the timely intervention.

Had Assassin not stepped in, Saber knew she would have been gravely injured. Even her armor wouldn't have been able to fully protect her from Berserker's monstrous sword.

But then Saber noticed Assassin's already-damaged sword was now further cracked.

"Wait, have you been fighting Berserker before now?" Saber suddenly realized why Assassin's sword was broken in the first place.

"Though it wasn't my choice, since he's insisting on fighting, I'll have to cooperate with you," Kenshin replied, taking up a defensive stance. He understood that joining forces with Saber was the only way they might have a chance against Berserker.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend—a truth that transcended borders and time.

"We'll settle our match after we defeat Berserker," Saber said with a slight smile, not minding the change in circumstances.

She respected those with honor and integrity, and Assassin had proven himself in that regard. His past attempt to eliminate her Master was simply a matter of duty, something she couldn't hold against him.

"Watch out, he's coming!" Kenshin warned, his voice tense.

Whoosh!

Berserker lunged forward like a rocket, his massive sword swinging horizontally, aiming to cut down both Saber and Assassin in a single strike.

Saber rushed forward to meet him head-on, using her holy sword to block the sweeping attack. She dug her feet into the ground to hold her position.

Screech!

Despite her efforts, the immense force behind Berserker's blow pushed her back several meters, her feet carving deep furrows into the earth.

'His strength is unbelievable, even for a Berserker!' Saber thought, realizing she was being overpowered in raw strength.

Kenshin quickly moved to Berserker's flank, aiming for his leg joints with the scabbard. As an assassin, he knew how to exploit weaknesses, and with his broken sword, all he could do was try to hinder the armored giant.

Shh!

But before Kenshin could land his strike, Berserker released his sword with one hand and summoned a golden spear, thrusting it at Kenshin's head in a counterattack.

'Not good!' Kenshin thought, retreating swiftly to avoid the blow. It was a close call—had he hesitated, the spear would have pierced his skull. While he couldn't be sure if his strike would have injured Berserker, one thing was certain: the counterattack would have left him severely wounded.

"His reaction speed is incredible," Saber remarked, stunned by Berserker's ability to counter even Assassin's fast strikes. She was beginning to realize just how dangerous this opponent was.

'A cursed sword filled with a dragon's resentment… and now a golden spear. Does he possess multiple Noble Phantasms?' Saber mused, watching Berserker closely. It wasn't uncommon for Servants to have more than one Noble Phantasm, but Berserker's ability to wield different types of weapons with such skill was unusual. Saber couldn't help but wonder who this mysterious Berserker was.

Suddenly, the massive sword disappeared, and Berserker now wielded only the golden spear, which was coiled with the image of a dragon.

'Is he trying to fight like a Lancer now?' Saber thought, bewildered by the change in his combat style.

Then Berserker launched his next attack, and Saber immediately found herself on the defensive.

Whoosh! Thud!

Each thrust of the spear was precise and relentless, leaving Saber no room to counterattack.

'His spear technique… it's completely foreign to me,' Saber thought, struggling to describe Berserker's style. His strikes were methodical and controlled, not at all the wild, frenzied swings she had expected from a Berserker. Every "thrust," "twist," "jab," and "bash" was executed with deadly precision.

A sharp thrust grazed her cheek, drawing blood.

"Flying Sword Style: Earth Dragon Flash!" Kenshin struck the ground with his scabbard, creating a burst of air and debris that slammed into Berserker's back, momentarily slowing his assault and giving Saber a chance to catch her breath.

"What an unexpected challenge," Saber muttered, wiping the blood from her face. She hadn't anticipated Berserker would be this formidable. It wasn't just his strength with the greatsword—his spear technique was equally terrifying.

But before Saber could regroup, she and Kenshin both noticed that Berserker's golden spear was transforming. In its place appeared an ancient, ornate tome inscribed with mysterious symbols.

"His weapon changed again?" Saber asked, her confusion growing.

PS: Here's a bit of lore. The Warrior of Light (WoL), nicknamed "Dumb Light," earned that title because of his initially awkward and mute nature, only capable of nodding or shaking his head to express emotions. But as the story progressed, WoL's combat prowess became indisputable. He's fought dragons, helped restore nations, defeated empires, and even thwarted a cosmic-level threat. A notable feature of the WoL is his mastery of numerous weapons: greatswords, spears, guns, spellbooks, staves, and even fishing rods—he's proficient in all of them.
