''Why?''
Dante, with his chin on his knuckles and his elbow on the window frame, gazed at the passing scenery through the glass window of the carriage.
Why is he running into people that unconditionally support his wife now and then?
Why did he not know that his wife had people that cared for her deeply more than he imagined?
Why?
Endless thoughts circulated in Dante's mind on his way to the duchy.
At first, he thought his first wife had her personal maid and the grand duke, though their relationship was bad until after the discovery of her pregnancy. Then, the rumored commander Renes came out of nowhere and they were so close that he did not know how to include himself as her husband in their conversation. Now a knight dared to call her first name intimately, and he appears to know her well.
'Isla and I, we knew each other from childhood.' Though it was not for him to hear, his ears apparently caught that from the knight.
