His undying devotion

Irene Hensley, the Daughter of a director fell in love with her junior at school-Ethan, who loved her dearly. Having strict parents, she had a hard time dating him. You'll pay for the words you said by staying with me." Ethan pinned her down to the bed while whispering in her ear, "The soft guy you knew is long gone." ___ Even though Irene and Ethan were able to start anew, another devastation of their relationship is soon to appear. When there are optimistic times, there's also desperation which was no different in Irene's life.

Fleeting time

I snapped my eyes open at the sound of the alarm from my phone. It was 7 AM. I looked around to check on him, but the room was empty.

"Where did he go?" I mumbled as I pushed myself to sit up. The small luggage on the corner attracted my gaze. Seemed like, he prepared everything for today's trip. As soon as I stepped on the floor, the door clacked Opened, and Ethan came in.

"Ah! My wife's awake." His turtle-neck blacktop exposed his muscles, even though there was a jacket on top of it. The sweat drops slid down his jaw as he brushed his hair backwards while grinning at me.

"W-who goes to the gym while having a honeymoon?" I stuttered, seeing that side of him that I'd never seen or imagined.

"I was out jogging a bit since you were sleeping. And you won't like it if I bother you."

Silence covered our surroundings, making the atmosphere awkward. I hesitantly looked at him, and he broke the silence. "I'll go take a shower. Why don't you get ready? We'll leave in an hour."

"Yeah, sounds good."

He almost sounded like my tour guide rather than a husband. Seemed like he was nervous. Well, that didn't bother me since it was good either way.

______

I walked out of the dressing room and stood in front of Ethan, who was busy buttoning his black shirt.

"Are you going to wear a suit today too?" I raised one of my brows and tilted my head to look at him.

"No, just the shirt." He stepped towards me and caressed my cheek while fixing my off-white coat. Before I realized it, his lips touched my forehead as he leaned down to me.

"What are you....?" I stepped back and covered my forehand. My heart beat fast as I remembered telling him about this forehead kiss after marriage. He remembered everything. He was acting way out of his personality which made me feel sceptical.

"Don't be so alarmed. Come!" He offered me his hand with a smile on his lips.

The place was just 10 minutes away from our villa, yet he had to take a car to get there.

I kept on checking my phone, and there was still a lot of time to spare. A notification floated on my screen, and I noticed it was Emma.

It appeared the divorce papers were ready. I would sign them after reaching Switzerland and send him the files- that was my plan. Of course, instead of signing, he will make a fuss about looking for me, but no one knows what the future holds. We couldn't tell before we tried.

"Sir, we're here!" At the notice of Mr Paul, Ethan went out and held the door for me.

I almost thought I was transmigrated inside a novel, seeing all the castle-like mansions surrounding me. It was magnificent.

"This is Milan city." Ethan continued, "You're into vintage fashion, so you'll love it.

I definitely did love it. But my mind was wandering somewhere else.

All the chattering from our surroundings sounded peculiar to me due to their different languages. Most of the women that went by us kept staring at Ethan, who seemed unfazed.

I peeked at my phone and suddenly spoke up, "Let's do a play!"

"A play?" Ethan seemed confused, seeing me suddenly smiling.

"Yes. Are there any boat rides around here?"

"Yes. There is. But what about it?"

"Then let's go. You'll see." I grabbed his hand and walked towards the place where boats were floating in the blue water. Ethan hired a private boat for us and turned to me.

"What are you planning?"

"You'll see. You go first take a ride, and then I'll join. It's a surprise!" I said, despite knowing he wouldn't be easy to convince. But the good point was there was only the driver with us. Calling out his man would take time for him, so it was my lucky chance.

"Why would I leave you alone here?" As expected, He objected.

"Don't worry. Mr. Paul is here. Besides, didn't I tell you it's a surprise? I'll join you soon." He stared at me with hesitation for some time and agreed. His gaze felt as if he thought I'd pull a prank on him to make him suffer, but it wouldn't affect him.

I giggled inside. Little did he know it was no prank, but I was escaping for real.

I watched Ethan on the boat, getting swayed away by the waves.

"Ah! Mr Paul! Can you wait here for a minute? I'll....buy something for Ethan so... I'll be back in a minute." With my cheeks turning red, I looked at him with shyness in my eyes.

"Ah! Y-yes miss. Don't worry! I'm right here!" He seemed to take the bate.

I slowly stepped away and then started running, making myself vanish inside the crown.

After noticing the Uber from the picture, I got in and took off my coat.

"To the Malpensa Airport! Now!"

"Yes, mam."

Putting on the short-haired blonde wig and the black coat with sunglasses, I looked in the Mirror and almost couldn't recognize myself. Thanks to Emma, the name appointed on the airport was also fake. Even if he searched for flights, it would take time for him to understand which one was mine.

"Goodbye, Ex-husband. It appears you will always become an ex." I mumbled as I looked right ahead, imagining how he'd react knowing I wasn't there. After all, I did say I would make him Regret.
