Chapter 21
"Have we ever gone on a date?" Anastasia's sleepy voice spoke up from Jamie's shoulder. "It's all I've been thinking about recently,"
Jamie w"as startled when Anastasia spoke. He thought she was asleep. He touched her hair and combed the strands with his fingers.
"A date?" Jamie repeated thoughtfully. The word sounded strange to his ears. He has never thought of one, not even when he kept fake girlfriends.
Anastasia nodded on his shoulder. "Normal couples do that," she chuckled softly. Her hand reached for the soft fabric on her shoulder.
'Is he doing all this because of guilt?' Anastasia questioned herself, as she took the blanket off her body and sat up.
His little acts of service were heartwarming. However, if those acts could bring her father back, and return her family to its former glory, then she'll accept them without a bit of grudge in her heart.
