His Mistake (billionaire)

“Angel, I’ve had enough of your games. It’s time for you to come back home.” I couldn’t make myself feel anything for the selfish man standing in front of me. I can easily call him my ex-husband. The man that made my life living hell. Slamming my fists on the wooden table so hard, I though it would’ve broken, but it didn’t. I hastily stood up causing my chair to fly backwards into my giant glass window. “Games?” I scoffed. “Do you remember? You are the one that divorced me. I didn’t have a choice, according to you! So, why on earth should I have to come back?” My nose flaring and my face hot red in anger. “Ang-,” Cutting him off, I growled out, “No! You have no fucking right to call me that! It will be Ma’am or madam. Nothing else. Do you understand?” “Angel, enough! You and our son will be coming back home today, whether you want to or not!” “Fuck you.”

Chapter I (unedited)

Nova Diamond:

It's been four years since my husband and I divorced. It's also been four years since he abandoned our son. Although the point is given, he had no clue about it.

The first two years were the hardest part of my life. I had nothing. No money. No clothes. Nowhere to stay. I had almost killed myself, but I hadn't done that. I couldn't.

I remember I stood there, looking at myself in the mirror. I looked half-dead. The tears dried down my face, my red eyes, the bags underneath my eyes, and the knife I held against my neck.

Many thoughts ran through my mind. It was like my life flashed before my eyes, and one thought that flashed was the life of my unborn child. I couldn't do this to them. I wouldn't. I dropped the knife sobbing and dropped to my knees, pounding my fists on the wooden floor in anger.

Not only at myself, but at my ex-husband. How could he do this to me? Why didn't he give me an explanation? Why wasn't I good enough for him?

"Mama?" I'm snapped out of my deep thoughts and turn towards the sound of my son's voice.

"Yes, sweets?" I smile brightly at him. "You need something?"

"No mama." He walks over to me and jumps on my lap. Adjusting himself, he looks at me with his giant green eyes. They are a perfect replica of his father. "I just wanted a hug."

My heart melts and I wrap my arms around his waist, pulling him in closer to me. Giving a kiss on his forehead, I go back to doing my work.

"Mama? Where's daddy?"

I tense up slightly. This is the first time he's ever asked about his father. I suck in a breath and bite my lip thinking about what I should tell him. If I lie, he will figure it out, I'm horrible at lying. If I tell the truth, he will probably get upset. Thinking for a bit longer, I decided I'd tell the truth. He's smart for his age, I think he'd understand.

Turning him just a bit, I held one of his hands in mine. "Sweets, years ago, I was married to a man, this man is your father. I went to tell him one day I was pregnant with you, but never got the chance to do so. He had cut me off and forced papers into my hand. They were divorce papers. Told me to sign and gestured me to get out."

When I finished telling him, I gained enough courage to look at him and the look on his face broke my heart.

"He didn't want me?" His bottom lip trembling and tears gathering in the corner of his eyes. Just as fast as he gained the expression, he wiped his face clean of any emotion. "Mama, I love you. If dad could love you before me, then I don't want anything to do with him."

My eyes widened just a hair in shock. How grown up my boy is. He acts like he's thirty and not as if he's three and a half years old.

"I love you too sweets." I stammered and give him one last kiss. He leans over and gives me a small kiss on the cheek before jumping off my lap and walks to sit on the office couch. On his way, he picks a book up and begins reading.

Oh, what did I do to deserve this precious man? I will do anything to protect him as he does to protect me. He is my life. My saving grace. My everything.

My phone Intercom goes off and a voice comes through. It was my lovely assistant and best friend. "Ma'am, you have a gentleman in the lobby to see you."

Pressing the button, I tell her to let him up. Continuing my paperwork, my door busts open and I am pissed. No one dares to enter my office without knocking. I slammed my pen down and go to yell at the client, but the moment I look up, my soul leaves my body. There standing in front of me was my ex-husband.

"What do you want?"

His deep voice rang through the room, and growls to me, "You. I want you!"
