What About That?

"I'm sorry I didn't protect you Bobby," I sighed and looked down to my lap, "I should have focused on making sure you would be safe instead of snapping at you. I was too focused on figuring out what my parents were doing at the ball instead of thinking what they might do to you."

I wondered if Bobby knew how he looked to me in that moment. He looked stressed. His face had been red since we sat in the sunroom. His eyebrows were furrowed constantly, the bruising under his eyes and around his nose seemed to have gotten worse. 

I hated having to see him like this but I knew I could not withhold it any longer. Things were going to come to light whether I liked it or not and it would be better if he found out from me. I was not proud of what I had done in my past.
