Chapter 124 - Azazel And Vali
After getting two rewards that left him sleepless, Mahiro found himself missing Rias a little. He wondered if her fight with Akeno had wrapped up.
Suddenly, a familiar sound filled the room. Mahiro looked over, confused, as a magic circle appeared on the floor.
"Why do these people never use the front door?" Mahiro thought.
Rias appeared before him.
But she didn't look like her usual self. She seemed a bit worn out.
Her uniform was torn in several spots, showing more than she probably meant to.
Her long hair was messy, and a few strands were curled like they'd been hit with some serious static.
Mahiro quickly figured Akeno's demonic lightning had something to do with it.
"How far did you and Akeno go?" Mahiro asked, his face turning serious.
"Just some venting," Rias replied with a small smile. "It may look bad, but I'm fine."
Mahiro nodded.
It was obvious this fight had been way more intense than their training camp sparring. Both must've gone all out. Still, despite how rough it looked, there weren't any real injuries.
"And Akeno? Is she okay?" Mahiro asked.
"Akeno went home. Don't worry, Darling, we've been fighting like this since we were kids," Rias said with a casual smile.
"Darling, can I borrow some of your clothes? I don't have anything left to wear."
After her fight with Akeno, Rias came straight to Mahiro's place without going home, so she had nothing to change into.
Without waiting, she started taking off her torn uniform, showing off her figure to Mahiro.
Mahiro quickly grabbed a shirt from his closet.
"This is the only thing I've got. It'll have to do."
"Don't worry, Darling. Akeno was just making a scene. Everything will be back to normal tomorrow." Rias hugged Mahiro briefly, then stepped back and smiled.
She and Akeno had known each other for years and understood each other pretty well.
When it came to Mahiro, neither of them would give up easily.
Like Rias had said, tonight's fight was just a way to blow off steam.
Things would go back to normal afterward.
"I'm gonna shower first. I didn't think it'd get this crazy." Rias took the shirt Mahiro handed her and headed to the bathroom.
"Wait for me, okay?"
As he watched Rias leave, Mahiro thought for a bit and decided to follow her.

Meanwhile at Underworld, Grigori Territory...
On the edge of a quiet lake, a middle-aged man sat, fishing without a care in the world.
From the purple sky above, a silver light shot down and landed beside him.
A young man, probably no older than twenty, with silver-gray hair and casual clothes appeared.
"Azazel, why the sudden call? What's going on?" the young man asked after landing.
"Vali, haven't you heard? The Red Dragon Emperor has shown up," Azazel said, still focused on his fishing.
"My old rival finally appeared? I hope he's not weak." Vali's initial surprise quickly turned to excitement.
"You're different from the past White Dragon Emperors. They would've been asking me everything about the Red Dragon Emperor by now," Azazel said, finally glancing at Vali with a smirk.
"I'm not like them, though I am at the same time," Vali shrugged.
"I want to fight him, but I'll wait until he's stronger. It'll be more fun that way. It'll also prove that the White Dragon Emperor is stronger."
"You sound just like those previous White Dragon Emperors," Azazel remarked, shaking his head.
"So, what's been going on? You didn't even notice the Red Dragon Emperor's appearance. That's not like you," Azazel asked, curious.
"I've been training somewhere, so I wasn't paying much attention," Vali replied calmly.
Azazel studied Vali for a moment before speaking again.
"Never mind. I didn't call you just to tell you about the Red Dragon Emperor. I also need your help with something else," Azazel finally said with a sigh. He was slightly suspicious of Vali's recent actions but didn't seem too worried.
"What's up?" Vali asked.
"You know I've been holding the Fallen Angels back, trying to avoid conflict with the other factions. But Kokabiel isn't too happy with that," Azazel explained.
"And?"
Vali, who had grown up in Grigori, was already familiar with the internal politics.
"Kokabiel's up to something. He left the Underworld and headed to the human world. I need you to bring him back," Azazel said.
"What if he refuses?" Vali asked, already accepting the task.
"Vali, Kokabiel's not your match, is he?" Azazel replied with a slight grin.
"So you're telling me to beat him down and bring him back?" Vali asked casually.
"If it comes to that," Azazel nodded. "But try talking to him first."
Vali chuckled. "Azazel, Kokabiel's been around forever. Do you really think I can talk him down? My only worry is what to do if he fights back with everything he's got."
"Please, Vali, we don't have many Ten-Winged Fallen Angels left."
"I'll try my best, but if Kokabiel causes trouble in the human world and someone else kills him, that's on him," Vali replied with a shrug.
"Well, that would be his bad luck," Azazel shrugged lazily.
