Mating Process

Cristy kept working during her break. She sidestepped Lily's inquiries, and Michelle even seemed dejected. The fact that the pack members avoided her sight only made her feel uneasy.

Cristy shrugged off their attitude and continued to watch the door. She was anticipating Matt's entrance. She wiped down tables and refilled sugar and salt bowls. Every time the door opened, she peeked to see who was inside while sipping her milkshake.

"Who are you holding out for?" Lily enquired.

"I'm not waiting for anyone."

Lily cast her stern glance.

"All right, fine, I am waiting for Matt, I have some inquiries for him."

Lily nodded. "I understand why. I guess this is all brand-new mating thing."

Cristy looked at her friend while shaking off her thoughts. Since the incident involving the human guys, they had not had a chance to talk.

Cristy inquired, "What's been going on with you lately?"

Lily gave a shrug. "There is nothing new going on. I remain the same. I have nothing to say."

"What happened to you and Lewis?" Cristy sat down while keeping an eye on the diner in case a customer needed her. Michelle had gone to see her mate. Cristy waited for Lily to speak while she sat in the kitchen area.

"Nothing actually took place. I'm not sure. He drove me house. He sat with me for a while even though my parents weren't home. He discussed me about those human guys and what William possibly can do with them. I was aware that he would murder them. I merely assumed that it was a mistake." Lily said and tucked her hair.

Cristy listened as Lily described how William's outburst shocked her. As he had appeared prepared to rip the man apart. Cristy trembled. She didn't want to consider that Williams's hands might cause harm to anyone, especially since they made her feel so good.

"After everything calmed down, I prepared us a drink, and Lewis approached me from behind. He encircled my waist with his arms and rubbed my ass. Lewis stated that he desired me," Lily blushed.

"He probably said a lot more than that, I bit."

"He did. I declined though. I informed him that I didn't have any affairs with males. I'm looking for the ideal partner. He immediately turned back. I'm aware that I'm not mated to Lewis based on the way William has behaved towards you. By now, he would have claimed me."

Cristy could tell that her friend was depressed by it. "Sweetheart, I'm very sorry." Lily stopped her as she extended her hand.

"Don't feel sorry for me. There is no issue. Lewis and I are not meant to be together. It's best, really. Matt has arrived. I'll start making coffee. I hope you get the help you need."

Lily quickly left the room. With his mate, Matt was seated in their normal spot. Cristy exhaled deeply before leaving the kitchen. She went over to his table.

"Hello," Cristy said.

"How are you doing, Cristy?"

Cristy stowed her notebook. "I was wondering if I might talk to the two of you."

"Sure, sit down."

Matt's mate grinned at her.

Cristy said, "I'm very sorry, but I don't know your name."

The lady chuckled. "No issue. My usual name here is 'Matt's partner' but my real name is Aira."

Cristy gave the woman a handshake. "It's nice to meet you, Aira." she remarked.

"What do you need to ask, Cristy?" Matt asked.

"I need to discuss this mating thing with you," Cristy said.

Matt froze. "You ought to speak with the alpha. He is your mate."

"Matt, I'm not used to do this. I'm unsure of how to approach him about this. He won't reveal to me all of the details of a mating." She tried to reason with him and stated, "We're at a standstill."

"Matt, you must tell her," Aira asserted, "She has a right to know."

Cristy gave Aira a grin.

Matt exhaled a frustrated sigh. "I'm going to get in fu*king trouble because of this." He forward-leaned. "Did you accept the mating already?"

Cristy grimaced. "I'm not sure what you're getting at."

"Cristy, mating requires two persons. You can choose to accept William as your mate or not."

"William is certain that I am his mate."

"You can still reject him, though. It's not unusual. It can happen, but we're mated together for a reason," Aira added.

"You must let the other person into your life in order to successfully mate."

"I welcomed Aira, and she reciprocated. No altercation took place between us. The rest is history because we met and fell in love." Matt caresses Aira's hair.

Cristy watched the action and desired for a similar situation. She felt William's touch, but it wasn't friendly. She frequently imagined William proclaiming her as an ownership. She wasn't like it. William's touch lacked any feelings of affection.

"The obstruction I'm referring to is in your thoughts. We all erect barriers around ourselves to keep ourselves safe. The wall came down when I saw Aira and I allowed her in. She is aware of my sentiments and ideas," Matt said.

Aira gave Matt a smile. "I can tell whether he's hungry or naughty. We have a connection that is like to an invisible electric spark that only we can see."

Aira gripped Matt with her fingers.

"When the mating takes place, you'll be able to sense each other and converse with each other mentally. Talking is unnecessary."

"We also want to make love a lot," remarked Aira with a smile.

Cristy suddenly felt shy, but she still laughed. She had encountered rude werewolves everywhere but not like them.

"Cristy, once we mate, we mate forever. You should be aware of that before you decide anything. I have no idea how a person would go about doing this, but we are lifers," Matt explained.

Cristy peered out the window and noticed William coming in her direction. "Can I speak with you later on?" she inquired.

Matt nodded.

Cristy grabbed her notebook as she stepped away from the booth and began writing down their orders.
