Both of them arrived at the hospital after a long thirty minute ride in Josh's sports car. The sports car was a perfect blend with his formal attire and cool vibes, a perfect kind of man any woman would want for the rest of her life.
While they were inside the car, Lydia could not help but steal glances at him once in a while. His presence was too hard to ignore, it was like a magnet that was forcefully pushing her to stare at him, not that she was bothered about it, she was ready to stick her eyes on him forever without complaining.
When they arrived at the hospital's parking lot, Josh was so anxious about meeting Jesy. He had a lot to say to her and a lot to ask her concerning what Lydia had earlier said to him. Or was it better to just forget about it? It baffled him a lot and it got him thinking that he didn't notice the stare Lydia gave him inside the car.
Without waiting for Lydia, he began taking large strides into the hospital building that Lydia had to jog to catch up with him, he walked too fast. Was he that impatient? What was so special about Jesy anyway that he had to literally run to see her?. The more Lydia thought about it, the more she had the urge to scratch out Jesy's eyes.
They both arrived at the door to Lexi's ward and without thinking about knocking, Josh pushed the door open with hope in his eyes, he was finally going to see the woman that hunted his dreams and dominated his thoughts, the woman that caused to the brink of insanity.
He looked into the ward and his eyes scanned every corner of the ward but he couldn't find a single shadow of Jesy Anthony anywhere inside the ward. The hope in his eyes immediately dimmed. She wasn't here, then where was she? Maybe she went out, or was she in the bathroom, that's right! The bathroom.
Immediately, the dimmed hope brightened and it lightened up like dynamite. Josh did not bother to acknowledge the person lying on the bed who was surprised and delighted to see him, he quickly barged into the ward and walked to the bathroom and pushed it open without knocking and like before, he didn't find not even a soul inside the bathroom. The hope in his eyes died down and faded away.
Lexi had never expected to see the handsome guy from the other night again. The guy who saved her, her handsome knight in shining armor. But she was puzzled when she saw him looking around the room as if looking for someone. Was it her? But why was it difficult for him to find her when she was lying on the bed? Was his eyesight bad?
"Who are you looking for? Am right here."
Lexi said in a very meek voice, trying to sound pitiful in the hopes of gaining a little bit of sympathy from him but her facade broke when she heard his reply..
"Where did Jesy go?"
°°°°°°••••••°°°°°°
Jesy was heading straight to the elevator, she was pissed and wanted nothing than to just leave this building, there was nothing special about it anyway. Did they just called her out only to insult her even though she was rejected, she had no business here but she was mercilessly insulted!
Due to her anger, she wasn't seeing too clearly as her anger had clouded her sight. The sound of her shoes hitting the floor resounded loudly as an evidence of her anger.
She was still murmuring words of anger to herself when her head bumped into something hard as rock. Jesy flinched at the impact and she angrily glared up to meet a frigid stare from the owner of the chest she bumped into, with one stare she could already tell he was a bodyguard but what was his problem? Was the dark shade glasses obstructing his eyesight? What's with people today?!
"You can't see? Move away, now!"
Jesy sternly said to him, he was already topping her anger and if she had a gun, she wouldn't hesitate to shoot him on the spot just so he would let her pass, she wanted to leave this jinxed environment.
But the bodyguard wasn't having any of it. He was given an order by his boss and that he would follow.
While Jesy was still glaring daggers at the bodyguard, Trevor and Dennis along with their other escorts walked pass them and Trevor purposefully bumped his shoulder against Jesy, causing her to almost fall on the bodyguard. Trevor had a smug smile hidden behind his mask, not everyone noticed his move except the bodyguard who saw it.
Jesy was so ready to curse at whoever it was that pushed her in that manner but before she could regain her balance after she was nearly falling on the bodyguard, the elevator door was closing with the culprit inside, Jesy gritted her teeth and could only curse the person in her head since she didn't know who it was and she didn't want to look like a retarded woman if she cursed out loud.
She was about to walk pass the bodyguard when she was suddenly held by the arm and was yanked and pulled towards the direction of the elevator. Jesy was a tall woman, taller than most females of her age but she felt incredibly small in comparison to the bodyguard.
Jesy felt so wrong for receiving such treatment when she did nothing wrong. She was about to yell at the bodyguard for such I'll treatment but she kept quiet and walked with the bodyguard when she heard murmurings and whispers from behind.
The meeting was over and people were dismissing. Jesy behaved herself when she knew they were behind and was probably talking about her. The last thing she wanted was to satisfy those gossip mongers. She didn't want to be a topic they would invest their time on.
The bodyguard noticed her submission and he stopped pulling her forcefully, they reached the elevator and he pressed the open button and after seconds, the door to the elevator opened and Jesy quietly followed after the bodyguard.
The door was closing and Jesy purposely hid her face by looking sideways, she didn't want her face to be known after her reputation was already soiled.
The newbies who attended the meeting wanted to enter the elevator, they wanted a better view of who the stupid woman was, but the icy stare from the bodyguard made them rooted to the ground.
"I wonder who is she?"
"She's so shameless, looking for attention and she had the nerve to attend late."
"She could even dare to talk back at the CEO's assistant."
"Am sure she's going to receive the backlash of her life for such stupidity."
"She would never be accepted into this company with how stupid she is."
As they kept raining insults at her, Jesy was quietly inside the elevator with one question in mind.
'Where was he taking me to?'
He's probably taking me outside so that I can finally leave this place, in peace.
