Hel and the Emerald Sky City

this is a fantasy soulmates romance set in an Urban setting with lots of deeply traumatic backstories and many deaths on the way, in a magical ancient academy, and with one of the main plots being revenge. there are countless types of mythical creatures and all coexisting in our very world. ||| two new chapters per day at 10:30 and 22:30! ||| Torture is all I’ve known for two thousand years. Not because I’m the one causing it, which ain’t the case, but because since the old reptile, Dragon Queen Meredith Bloom and her daughter in law, Crowned Princess Philippa Bloom kidnapped me from my mother when I was 7 years old, and killed her in front of me, I’ve been treated like a material she absolutely despised but wanted to make a weapon with. All because I’m the bastard daughter of the Crowned Prince Russell Frederick Bloom, the “holy-golden-dragon” with my mom, a black dragon extremely powerful who worked directly with the Dragon Queen and King as the Royal blacksmith and stylist. Which baffles me even more is that mother and Russell were mates, but as dear grandma there didn’t want a black dragon to mate with her precious golden son, she terrorized my mom when she learned of their affair and made sure her son married a female golden dragon of high birth right away. That’s where Philippa Pepper Wreathers-Bloom comes into the picture. She got engaged to my birth father before mother could even have me, and as soon as she had me on the territory now known as New Zealand, she ran away to her family’s original territory on the Himalaya Mountain Range. Which is where she made her lair and raised me for 7 years, in physical age. That is, until dear grandma came and ended our short-lived happiness. Aye, key detail. Mom and dad were both dragons, of different founding clans but both dragons, nevertheless, I came out weird and I’m not a dragon at all, I’m something else entirely, though still in the reptile family. Which is another reason why Meredith tortured the shite out of me. If there was something she despises more than having a bastard in her perfect Royal bloodline, is having a bastard who’s an error in the system (not my choice of words, hers), something that’s only been heard in legends of the long gone old world. What are you then, Hel? I’m a serpent. But not just a serpent, I’m a gigantic black serpent with emerald scales here and there (which Meredith is to blame for), long and wide bat-like wings, with sapphire eyes, and silver sharp fangs full of a very lethal poison.

LVIII ||| Not a Snake. A Serpent!

The second we left his room, we weren't alone anymore.

He mentioned before that the Circle like to use the third floor of the tower, and his first floor to hang out, but I didn't expect them to be all there with my roommates, the girls, their boyfriends, and Felix stating at us. To make it worse, bloody-damned Rio put Shameless by Camila Cabello to play the second we came down the stairs. And I would have turned around and run back to his top floor, if Oli hadn't held me still and made me keep walking. "We are not getting back in there," he chuckled.

Cursing, I summoned one of my two daggers and hand it on the side of my hip, just for a warning, then we walked out and everyone gave us the dirtiest of the looks, which made me want to hide away from this. "Look at those two savage beasts," Rio grinned, "took them seven hours."

Oliver scoffed, "In fact, it took a whole lot more than that. But Hel accidently unfroze time when she woke up after I brought her here."

I glared at him, "Oliver!"

"What?" He grinned. "It's not like they don't know what we were doing in there, beautiful. You did cause more than one earthquake!"

My eyes went to Rio, "You better stop that song!"

He gasped, "No death threats? Oh my Crone, what happened to her burning anger and murderous intent? You did a great job, Oli, you tamed the beast. Would you look at that?"

Taking my dagger, I threw it at him, but purposely only left a soft cut on his right cheekbone, "I'm done with the threats, cotton candy baby blue hair, I'll start acting on it. And who tamed me? I'm not tamed, and I won't be either. My anger is still here, so try me out and I'll show you my murderous intent!"

When he gulped, Oliver chuckled, "Don't even look at me. You all know how she is when provoked."

"I'm stunned," Felix gasped, sitting between Igor and Henrihk, as both had a hand on each of his thighs. "You really did a number to get her to stop trying to run away from you, hm? Worthy of respect."

Now that made me chuckle, and I pointed at him and at the hands of the boys, "What's with that character development?"

"What's with that bite on your neck?" He countered.

"Oh, ho," Noah grinned wolfishly while holding Elsa, "Seems like Hel got you on her leash, Oliver. Look at that, seems like she bit you back. What a wonder."

He grinned nastily, "Fangs have a function, you know?!"

"Oliver!" I gasped, glaring at him.

"What? We're lucky only our necks are visible or they would think we are really two savage beasts," what is wrong with him? How can he just say all of this without getting embarrassed? Is he trying to kill me? Because I'm pretty frustrated here. "She couldn't keep her hands to herself."

That got me scoffing, "Oh, yeah. I'm the one who couldn't!"

"I mean, I could, but why would I want to?" Ugh.

"Do we have one more couple to the bunch?" Nevena grinned as she held Shiryu, Yumi's twin brother, in her arms.

"Yes," Oliver exclaimed but I stayed quiet. "Yes, right?"

Ugh. This is hard. "For now, yes," it was all I said, after the silence, and all of the stares on me. Even Felix was staring expectantly.

"Oh, yeah, because that's not ominous at all," Dimitry chuckled.

I turned to him, "Want a taste of my dagger too, baldie?"

He gasped, "Will you stop calling me that? I'm not bald!"

"Where's your hair then?" I countered.

"Tsk. My hair is buzzed, not bald," he growled.

"I see no hair. Looks bald to me," okay, now I'm grinning.

"How can you be so infuriating?" He gasped exasperated.

"It's a gift!" Everyone exclaimed and I blushed.

Rolling my eyes, I clicked my tongue, "I'm not infuriating!"

"Yes. Yes, you are!" They all said together again.

"No. No, I am not!" I frowned.

"You kind are, babe," Oliver giggled.

"So," Savannah leaned closer, grinning widely, "did you break your bed too? Because her bed in the dorm is shattered!" Oh, no. Not this again. "Many things are, actually."

I called for my dagger again, as it was still on the wall near Rio, and Oliver chuckled condescendingly, "Bed? We almost destroyed the tower, Savannah. The bed was just collateral damage."

"Crone be damned, can't you control your mouth?" I gasped.

That was all he needed, "I mean, I could, but why would I want to?"

I growled, "How do you deal with him?" I gasped at the Circle.

"We… don't!" The six exclaimed together.

Rolling my eyes, I turned to Yumi, "Kawazaki, do you know if Jack is still asleep in the dorm? I didn't know I could even stay away from him, so it was kind of weird when he end up frozen too."

A nod, "He woke up, but we got some carrots and blood for him, then we told him you were in here, and he got back to sleep. We couldn't understand him, but he seemed relieved and glad that you were far away from him."

My jaw dropped, "That little…" I bit down a curse. "Whatever, I might be too much for him to handle."

"You're too much for anyone to handle, Hel," Felix chuckled.

"Not me, though," Oliver said matter-of-factly.

"You're an exception," Felix added.

"Bloody straight I am!" Then he grinned at me and I glared at him.

"What?" I scoffed. "I'm not agreeing with anything."

Priya smiled widely, "So, will be staying here tonight?"

"Of course," Oliver exclaimed as if it was obvious, I said nothing. He's already speaking for the both of us either way. "We'll just do some stuff and then we'll comeback. I'm far from done with her."

"Want help?" Felix and Rio asked at the same time.

I clenched my fists, "Headmaster Mia told us to do something for her. Something apparently only me and him can do. She probably did that because he complained to her that I was avoiding him," I glared at the others, "and you altogether. So she made sure I would have to do this alone with her oh-so-precious pupil."

Thankfully, he went along with me, "Don't blame me. I tried the easy way, but even after the said week you kept running away. I just made use of my link with the oh-so-old-and-powerful Mia to make you stop and spend time with me."

To my dismay, they all, even Felix, agreed with him.

"I feel attacked," I frowned. "I am not kind when I feel attacked."

Rio chuckled, "Do you even know how to act kind?"

Annoyed, I summoned a ball of black water and all of them, even Oliver flinched, remembering well what I did to them in the gallery. "Shall I show you my kindness, cotton candy baby blue hair? I tend to hydrate those I'm kind to with a lot of special water. I've been kind to you, don't you remember? Shall we reminisce?" I turned to the others, "Shall we?"

Yuliana glared at Rio, "Don't spread your shite on us, vampire!"

"As if I needed to do that, kraken," he grinned flashing his fangs.

"So, what's happening between the three of you?" I pointed to Felix and Igor and Henrihk. "What's with the possessive glare and hands on the thigh to show male dominance?"

Felix turned bright red with that, "Hel!"

"What?" I feigned innocence. "So?"

"We are together now," Henrihk exclaimed matter-of-factly.

"Have ever heard of threesome?" Igor grinned.

I blinked, "So, you're a sandwich now. And… Felix is the filing?"

They all chuckled and Felix turned even redder than before, "Hel. Oh my goodness, where's your cloud head for those things? What did you do to her, Oliver? Who's this?"

He raised his hands, "She's more shameless than me. She's just a lot better at hiding and pretending she's not. Acting all innocent when she's a wolf in sheep's clothing." More like a serpent.

I rolled my shoulders, "It's the shedding," I winked, and though most of them got extremely confused, Felix and Oliver understood the joke right away.

"What are you? A snake?" Rio gasped and I saw red.

"Oh no," Oliver and Felix mumbled.

But when I blinked, I was already there, pining the vampire on the wall, hand on his neck, fangs flashing, dagger pressing on his chin, "I am not a bloody snake. I am a black winged serpent! Do not mistake those two things if you do not wish do die by my hands, vampire!" I hissed, anger taking over me.
