Chapter Six: The Secrets of the Forest

"What do you mean?" Bai Xing asked.

"First I must tell you a story. A titan born has unlimited blood and sheer power. Their blood contains all of that power, so if you drink it, you get an unlimited source of power," the Forest God said.

"I understand that, but how-" he was interrupted by the slamming of a door. A man brandishing an axe had opened the door. Others of the same kind entered the room. Bai Xing drew his daggers and quickly stabbed one in the chest. The guard was about to say something as he was decapitated. Bai Xing slashed at another but was bludgeoned to the head by the hilt of an axe. He was knocked out for over an hour, but finally came to. He looked around the room and saw all of the men with axes dead on the floor.

"Who were they?" Bai Xing asked.

"They were minions sent by the elders to extract more blood from Cheng Min," the Forest God replied. "Let's release him now." They tip-toed over to Cheng Min and the Forest God quickly sliced the chains holding him up. Little did they know, when they did this deed they triggered a chain reaction that awoke a person that could kill them all. Cheng Ming fell face first on the ground, but he was still unconscious. They ripped the saw out of his torso and he came to.

"What the hell?" He Screamed out in pain.

"Cheng Ming?" Bai Xing asked. Cheng Ming gasped.

"Bai Xing!" He exclaimed.

Cheng Min got up to hug his brother that he had not seen in years but immediately fell down and started gasping. The wound in his chest widening. He screamed again.

"He will die if he doesn't get healed soon," the forest god observed.

"Can you do that? You have been practicing chi for millions of years," Bai Xing asked.

The forest god waved his hand. Cheng Ming's chest started to heal itself.

"Now that we are all ok I have something to show you," he said. Cheng Ming and Bai Xing followed him out of the temple and back into the village.

"Wow, I can't remember the last time I came here," Cheng Ming said in awe. They snuck back across Chen Suchun and into the Forest God's grand palace. He led them into a large gate at the back of the mansion and went through. Bai Xing and Cheng Ming followed him for hours.

"Here we are," the Forest God. He stepped aside and revealed a rugged wooden chest.

"What is that?" Cheng Ming asked.

"This is the chest that I have been trying to open for millions of years. It has the secret to the path of cultivation," he said. Bai Xing tried opening the chest but with no success.

"How do I open the chest?" Bai Xing asked.

"You need two Titan borns to open the chest, and you will discover the secrets it has to offer," the Forest God said. Bai Xing joined hands with Cheng Ming and they tried to pry open the chest. The chest burst open to a blinding light. The Forest God stared in amazement.

"Well I'll be," he chortled.
