Episode 10
Chapter 10:
There was silence in the room for some while as the men stared at each other awkwardly.
"What do we do now?" The lady whispered to the manager. "I do not know..." He replied.
The guards noticed the Manager's uneasiness and walked up to him. "Are you sure Everything is okay sir. Is there something we should know?" He asked him.
"Actually.." The manager paused when he looked behind the men and saw the two brothers approaching the guards like a leopard approaching it's prey.
"Actaully what sir.." the guard wanted to turn back to see what caused the manager to stop talking.
"Actually!. Everything is very fine but I am so scared the men might find there way..find there way in here in any moment.." The manager stated.
"There is no way that's going to.."
Lucas and Tefah hit the guards with the end of their swords and both men passed out instantly.
"it just did.." The manager said sacarstically.
" you've done a great job. Now all we have to do is sneak out without getting spotted by your men.." Luca said.
"And how are we gonna do that?" The lady asked.
Luca stared at two of the men that came for the meeting and arched his brows.
"Oh, that.." The lady said.
Luca and Tefah exchanged clothes with The Manager's friends and they left the room.
They climbed down the stairs and went through the back door. Horses were waiting for them right outside the gambling house.
Trajan and Luca quickly got on the horses.
" I'm sorry for the troubles I have caused you mr..what was your name again?" Luca asked.
" Hamurabi.."
"Yes, Mr Hamurabi. Sorry for everything but we really have to find my father..bye" Luca said and rode away.
"Yeah..bye" Trajan said and left too.
The men all stared as the two brothers rode away on their horses.
" Hamurabi..we have a lot to talk about" One of the men said angrily.
"yeah, we do" Hammurabi stared as the horse rode away father.
Luca and his brother got home and met their mother still outside the house. "Were you waiting for us mother. You should have gone to bed. We were just looking for clues"
"Did you find any my sons?"
"yes. Father has left with some men to Maghada. The chariot you saw were made in Maghada. We got this from a reliable source..I guess" Luca stated.
"i knew the chariot seemed familiar. What deal did Hatshepsut have with them that made him leave his own land!?" She cried.
"We do not know yet but it must have been a great offer that made father leave..." Trajan replied.
"Are you saying father is greedy?" Luca asked.
"Yes. It's obvious he his!" Trajan replied. Luca shook his head in disgust.
"We do not need to argue on anything. What are you going to do now?" She asked.
" We'll leave for Maghada tommorow. It's going to be a very long journey so we'll have to leave early so we'll find him and bring him back quickly" Luca stated.
"Finding him there won't be an easy job. Maghada used to be a medium city but has grown so much at the last king's regime. The new king is still not settled hereby making it dangerous there too. Are you sure of this Luca??" She asked.
" I protected the king of Chandan from the most dangerous people on Earth. I can take care of myself and my brother mother" Luca assured.
She sighed. "I hope you'll find your father. Mara will break down if anything happens to him"
"free your heart of all the worries. We will return with him surely" Luca said.
She nodded in affirmation. "Wait, what about our king. You're his personal guard. What will he do without you been there?" She asked.
" He'll be fine"..
Back in the land of Maghada, The day was over and all the people were heading back to their homes.
For the first time in days, The king had called on Aurora again. He asked her get bath and dressed up in new clothings.
Aurora was dumbfounded. She wondered what could be the reason He ordered all these be done.
Aurora had been dressed and she was escorted to the king's chamber.
She Didn't bother to knock on the door but just walked in. Boudica was on his bed laying and staring at the roof when she walked in.
He stared at her and sighed. "Did you lost your manners. How dare you walk into my room without Knocking?" He questioned.
"I am..I am sorry my king..I Didn't want to disturb you so I decided to walk in since you called on me yourself" Aurora said.
"Come here and take your seat..." Boudica instructed. Aurora gulped, it was the first time was been formal with her. He either asked to pull her clothes immediately or juts grabbed her anytime she came.
He seemed gentle this time.
Aurora took her seat next to Boudica.
"Is..is there something bothering you?" Aurora asked.
"Maybe an empire built out of bloodshed can never be peaceful.." Boudica sighed deeply.
" What's wrong my king" Aurora asked.
"Someone, somewhere is after the throne. It seems normal but I feel it's someone who is close to me or someone I had known in the past.."
"Someone close to him..like his brothers?" Aurora thought to herself.
"I know I might not be the best king Maghada ever had but my plans for Maghada are greater than any other king's" Boudica said. He sighed again and got indulged in his thoughts .
" An empire built on revenge and bloodshed is likely to always fall. Same happened with many kings and...my father.." Aurora paused.
"Fate cannot be changed. Everything that becomes of a human is decided by fate" Boudica said.
"But who we are today doesn't state who we'll be tommorow. We can choose who we want to be ourselves.." Aurora said.
They both paused and stared at each other.
