Chapter 11: The Twins

[Seaside town]

In just one slash everything ended, in just one attack the sea infront of the town then splitted into two, in just one chance the rune law had accidentally manifested itself infront of many observing eyes

Upon seeing the destruction that Michael had brought with one slash of his sword, alongside the accidental activation of his rune law, everyone then gaped in shock upon seeing the result

Even Asagi herself who was high up in the clouds was stunned by that attack, much less the angels all around the town which were occupied in a hearty battle against the sea goblins

But despite of everything that had transpired, it doesn't change the fact the the leader of the goblins, plop down into two pieces as acid blood sprayed all over

Seeing the acid blood spilling around, Michael then quickly took flight as he distanced himself away from his target

Soon after the morale of every angels in the seaside town grew 3ven higher as their fervor for battle rose up to an incredible degree

In a heist the angels then dashed further towards their opponent as they raised up their weapons in the air and started clearing out the sea goblins

Of course the sea goblins on the other hand felt terrified of Michael's power, due to that their morale in their numbers plump down like a drain as they frantically started to run down in retreat

With that the angel's then became the pursuers while the sea goblins were escapees in that scenario

As for Michael himself, even though he was stunned by the display of his rune law, he then immediately snapped out of his daze when he heard the fervent shouts from his comrades

Due to that he looked back on the shore and saw the sea goblins hastily retreating back to the sea

Not intending to let their enemy to escape as easy just like that, he then brandished his sword once more as he intercepted the wave of retreating sea goblins

As for Gabriel he then lump on his butt unto the floor as he sighed in relief from all those movements and maneuvers he had did in this tight spot of the town

Following that he simply smiled towards the twins, which left the latter confused as to why the sea goblins started retreating at that moment

With that the battle then ended quickly just as it appeared, causing the whole battlefield and the whole town to suddenly went silent

As for the statistics of the battle, it was surprisingly a downhill battle for the angels side as they actually got zero casualties from that confrontation, on the other hand the sea goblins received about 1546 casualties on their side which included their leader

With the end of the battle, a void then appeared before Michael and Gabriel's location as Asagi reflected out of that rift which showed her hovering just outside her own castle

(Asagi:"Bring the corpse of the leader of the of the enemy forces, it will be out under a strict research and analysis, also bring the twins up to the castle... after all they may be our very first citizens in our land")

Under that command both Michael and Gabriel naturally didn't pose any objection as they silently nodded and did their work diligently

As Michael's ordered all of the troops to return to the castle, Gabriel on one side held out his hand towards the twins as he said

"Come... I'll bring the both of you to a safe place"

Upon stating that, both the twins looked at each other eye to eye as they kept hugging themselves for comfort, nevertheless Gabriel's words were met with silence

With that Gabriel heaved a sigh of resignation as he stood up and said

"If you don't want to come, then you don't have to do it... I'm not forcing you, im just stating that being with us would make you safe than being alone on this deserted place"

Hearing those words the girl among the twins then slowly reach out her hand towards Gabriel as she softly pulled along her twin brother, in the end the twin brother then followed suite as he reach out towards Gabriel

With that Gabriel then silently lifted the twins on his arms as he spreads out his wings and issued a command on the angels near him to head back home

With one flap of their wings, they then flew off the ground as ever angel rose up towards the clouds

Such a scenery was quite lovely, in fact if a modern artist or human ever saw such a scene, the words that he may describe such a scenery are immaculate, heavenly, divine, majestic, and beautiful to behold

While the scenery of angels ascending towards the clouds was so majestic as if they were returning to heaven, some unexpected people just right outside the towns border had actually saw everything that had transpired

Naturally they were astounded as they started to tremble in fear of this white winged creatures

Among their ranks however was a nun who was tearing up upon seeing the ascension of the angels towards the clouds

Holding unto her church pendant wrapped around her neck she then uttered one word under her breath in which only she could hear

"The god is real... they have returned!!!"

With silence coupled with her tears, she then offered up a prayer towards the heavens above

On the other hand the leader of the group who was a male swordsman then spoke out while trembling

"Let's return to camp! We need to report this... this... this is completely out of our league"

Of course originally they were sent to scout the town by the kingdom to search for any survivors of the monster flood, they were of course accepted such a task while holding unto the notion that they maybe ambushed by the monsters

But never would they expect to see such a confrontation upon reaching this town, in fact the angels, which were told only in the stories of children fables, the church preachers, and as only heralded as fiction, had actually appeared right before them and attacked the monsters

What's more they even saw the heavens judgement descended unto the monster army itself, which stunned them

In the end they were completely terrified of the angels instead of the monsters that attacked the town

Due to that the leader then decided to report back everything they saw, and prepare the kingdom to encounter such phenomenon regarded as fairytales of the church

[Azure Kingdom, Sky Castle]

As the angels had taken to the skies, the twins on the other hand were naturally taken along side Gabriel as a whole new world was shown to them

In fact both of them had their eyes nearly bulging out in their sockets when they saw the town that they had once lived for the majority of their years to slowly shrink as they further go up unto the skies

In fact they held on tightly off Gabriel's clothes as they snuggled closer to him in fear of falling from such height, nevertheless that didn't stop them from raising their heads towards the clouds as they went straight above it

Feeling the cool breeze of air, a whole new scenery was then laid out before them as Gabriel showed them the sea of clouds infront of them

Truly the number of clouds before them was innumerable, nevertheless it was one of the dreams of mankind to gaze at such majestic scenery

Later on they flew past the clouds as they headed towards a certain direction with the army of angels leading in the front

Upon reaching a certain distance a barrier then seemingly bypassed all of them including the twins which then showed them the floating Kingdom among the sea of clouds in the sky

In fact the barrier that they passed was actually the invisibility cloak magic that Asagi had applied beforehand, by passing through it they would then be able to see the kingdom itself

Of course the twins were equally shocked as they mesmerized the scenery infront of them, at that moment only one word could describe such a place

"Beautiful!!!"

Right then they then passed through the dense trees above the clouds and easily pass by the city walls

Not stopping unto their tracks, the angels then headed straight towards the castle in droves as they all landed at the pavement before the door of such a huge castle

Following that they all then checked all their belongings before dispersing into the town, of course as for Michael he then headed straight towards the interior of the castle after abiding some instructions towards his men

As for Gabriel, he then let his commanders and captains to order his men appropriately before entering the castle with the twins on his arm

Once more upon entering, the twins were then once again mesmerized by the interior design of the castle as everywhere they look was spotless and devoid of any dirt

Naturally Gabriel saw their reaction as he simply smiled at them before thumping out with proudest written on his face

As they strode across the castle, they then later arrived before the throne room as Gabriel entered such room to meet up with Michael and Asagi

"Your majesty! We had arrived! I've brought the twins just like you ordered"

Just like their previous reaction the twins were once more mesmerized by the interior of the throne room and much less shocked by Asagi's appearance which appeared to be gentle

Of course Gabriel let's go of the twins as he presented them before Asagi

"Welcome! I'm Asagi! You can even call me big sister if you like... may I ask for your names?"

As if surprised and struck by such kindness, the girl among the twins then bursted up in tears as she felt the burden she had endured all this while to suddenly broke out like a dam

Just like her burden and feelings she then wailed loud enough to even affect her twin brother

Sooner than later her twin brother then bursted in tears as he wailed while clinging unto the clothes of his twin sister

Seeing their reaction Asagi was naturally taken aback as she didn't expect such development to arise upon meeting them

Even both Gabriel and Michael were at a loss of what to do

"Hey! They're crying what should I do?" Asks Asagi as she turned towards both Michael and Gabriel

"Beats me! I have no experience in kids" said Gabriel

"Me neither your majesty! In fact I don't even know how to be a kid!!!" Added Michael

"Of course you don't know and have no experience, your both system generated... and I'm a single lady near its thirties.... heck I don't even have a husband much less experiences on comforting a child!!!" Rebuked Asagi

Hearing her words both Michael and Gabriel naturally gave her a pitying look

"You live quite a sad life your majesty!" Said Michael

"Hmm... I think a boring life is much more appropriate" said Gabriel

Even though both of them didn't mean it, it still struck Asagi hard as if she felt that those words were an insult to her lifestyle

"Alright! I agree its boring okay!!! You don't have to say it like that you know!!! It quite hurts..."

Upon realizing her situation, Asagi then remembered how her auntie comforted her during her time of needs

With that she re-enacted such act as she held out her arms towards them, as she reached them out before raking them into a comforting hug

Due to that both of the twins held unto her as they cried on her arms

At that moment both the twins finally released all the stress they endured just to survive from that dangerous situation which almost caused them their life

After all such a heavy burden to survive was too much for a child to bare
