"Wait, wait there," Mara said and stood in the middle of them.

"You can only do that on one condition," she said.

"I will do anything," the taxi driver said happily.

"Only if you take us there," Mara said with a head up.

"I will take you everywhere you want," he said joyfully.

Mara looked at Max, and she smiled happily.

"Wow, he even charged my phone for me. I have 20% at least to take a picture with it," she said as they got down from the taxi. "It feels great to be someone important," she added while strolling towards the tower.

"This is breathtaking," she said as her head slowly looked up to the tall end of the tower. "This is beautiful," she exclaimed as she hopped up in pure delight.

"Can you take me a picture here?" she asked and quickly gave her phone to him. She hurriedly went and stood at the entrance of the tower.

Max took a few clicks.

"I want it to look like I am blowing a kiss to it," she said. "Go and stand at the far end over there," she instructed.

"This picture is fire," she said. "At least these are good compared to the first one," she added.

"Stand over there, let me take you a few shots. It wouldn't be fair on your side," she said.

Max awkwardly followed her instructions and stood there for the shot.

"Can you at least relax yourself?" she said as she stood behind the camera taking pictures of him.

"Yes, stand there like that," she instructed.

"That was harder than I thought," she said as she wiped her forehead out of tiredness.

"At least, I have one good shot of you." she said.

They stood in the street, and a car parked in front of them.

"Here are the keys, Sir," the man said, smiling at Mr. Warren III.

"You didn't have to stress yourself going to fix the car for us," she said to the man.

"No, I don't have a problem, Miss. Today is my lucky day, having to give the greatest in the game a ride. My grandmother would be so happy with me today," he said happily, and his phone rang immediately. "Oh, it's my grandmother calling on a video call," the taxi driver said.

"Hello, granny, look who I am working around with today," he said as he turned his back camera to show Mr. Warren's unimpressed expression. Despite this, he quickly put on a smile for the grandmother.

Mara slowly pulled him to the phone for the grandmother to have a better shot of him.

The old woman shouted so loudly that it almost seized everyone's ears, including mine as the writer. Mara held her ears, and so did Max. ( Sorry for not giving a warning first to my readers, you may want to wear an eyepiece before continuing)

"You are really a handsome young man," the old woman said. "We watch your business plans on TV almost every day. My family loves you."

Max faked a nod and a smile.

"I hope you employ my boy in your company," the old lady said.

"I need to take a rest, nana needs some rest," the lady said, and with one loud shout of his name, she ended the call. Max immediately handed the phone to the taxi driver.

"Thank you," he said and walked to his car without saying a word.

Mara quickly followed and entered the car before she was left behind.

"You could have at least been extra nice to him," Mara said.

"You don't tell me what to do," he said, sounding superior. "You may end up selling me if I stay here any longer without my security," and he drove the car away.

At the construction grounds the next morning, they walked around checking the workers' progress. They were both dressed in camouflaged attire with boots. Mara took note.

"In the next three months, we would be almost done with the structure, so we move on with the roads leading towards it," the chief director said to Mr. Warren III.

"Thank you for bringing out this deal, we needed this," he said, shaking Max's hands before heading towards his way at the construction site.

Mara walked under the unfinished building taking note…

…...

"End her now, I don't want her to leave here alive," a voice stated fiercely while breathing heavily on the phone.

…....

He slowly positioned the hefty timber wood slightly above where Mara was taking notes...

His all black dress disguised with just his eyes peeing out for him to see…

He removed the tied, heavy wood with nails all over it.

"Heyyy, Max shouted at Mara from afar when he saw the wood coming down to fall from above..."

Mara had no idea, and before she realized it, Max had pulled her from there, and together they fell on the floor, with Max lying on top of her, his hands keeping her head from touching the floor.

Mara's heart started beating fast, and she breathed heavily. Their eyes locked, with lips almost touching. Max stood up quickly from on top of her.

"I'm sorry," he said, looking away while stretching his hands to help her get on her knees.

"Hope you didn't get hurt?" he asked without looking at her.

"Yes-yes," Mara said, wiping her dress and looking back at the wood that almost would have divided her head.

"Thank you," she said, still breathing heavily.

The workers rushed to them when they heard the noises…

"Make sure you do something about this," he said angrily. "I don't want this to ever happen again. Check your work," he said and walked away looking furious….

"You're telling me you couldn't even manage a simple task?" he growled, clenching his shirt with white-knuckled fists as fury burned in his eyes.

"Sir, I did everything perfectly. We laid out the plan, but she was saved by a gentleman," the guy said.

"You should have come up with another plan right away to get rid of her. I wanted her dead today, now!" With clenched teeth, the man released his grip on the guy's shirt.

The man walked furiously and heavily away, then went and sat in his car.

"If you are lucky today doesn't mean you would be lucky tomorrow," the man muttered.

"Let's get out of here," he said to his driver.
