"It can't be..." Audrey murmured as she took her amulet from the water.
She looked at the girls and shook her head at them.
"I thought he would return," Audrey whispered.
She looked toward Alpha Lake and saw the pain I'm his eyes.
She understood him, Mark was the only blood-related family he had left. And now, he had none, no mother, no father, no brother. He must feel very devastated.
"I shouldn't have brought him here," Ariel said, sighing heavily.
Maria swam to her, "It's not your fault; we can't question the spirits; they know better than we do," She said and hugged Audrey.
Mary and Sandra went forward and joined in the hug.
"It's alright, it's alright," Sandra said soothingly.
"Come on, let's head back," Alpha Lake came and squatted beside the river.
The girls released themselves, looking gloomy and sad.
As they got closer to Alpha Lake, Audrey stretched her hand out to him for him to draw her out.
