In the Ravenclaw common room, a blue light door suddenly appeared, catching the attention of Penelope and the other two.
Under the hopeful gazes of the trio, Ethan walked out.
"Ethan, are you okay?" Penelope hurried forward, looking at Ethan.
"What could happen to me?" Ethan replied. "The door just led to Ms. Ravenclaw's private room, and now I've inherited everything in it."
"What does Ravenclaw's room look like?" Luna asked eagerly upon hearing this. She admired Ravenclaw greatly, as did her father. They even had a picture of her at home. They believed she was the smartest witch and were deeply interested in everything about her.
"Wait a minute, I can take you to see it!" Ethan said. Explaining bit by bit would be difficult, so it was better to take them in and show them everything.
Ethan didn't intend to make this knowledge public. Much of it was considered taboo for modern wizards, but it wouldn't be a problem to share it with his close companions.
He casually glanced over the contents and quickly noticed Ravenclaw's notes on soul research. While it may not have been an issue in her time, it was something strictly forbidden by both Dumbledore and the Ministry of Magic now.
"Can you take us in to see it?" Cho Chang asked, her eyes wide with excitement.
No student from any of the four houses could resist admiring the founder of their house. The opportunity to enter Ravenclaw's private room was truly something to look forward to.
"I've been granted permission to enter, so I can definitely take you inside," Ethan confirmed, pulling out a crystal ball.
Ravenclaw's Chamber of Secrets functioned similarly to the Room of Requirement in that it was a special space. However, unlike the Room of Requirement, it was specifically attached to Ravenclaw Tower and couldn't be found externally. Only special methods allowed entry.
Just as the Room of Requirement required someone's internal needs and walking back and forth three times in front of it, the crystal ball in Ethan's hand served as the key to the Ravenclaw Tower. It could be used anywhere within the tower.
As long as Hogwarts existed, both the Room of Requirement and Ravenclaw's secret space would continue to exist as part of the castle's magic.
"Really? Quick, take us to see it!" Penelope said excitedly, stepping forward.
Knowing they could enter Ravenclaw's private room, none of them wanted to wait any longer.
"Wait, let me take off Ravenclaw's diadem first," Ethan said, waving his hand. The diadem lifted the wizard hat it rested on and flew directly into Ethan's hand.
Previously, Ethan couldn't remove the fragment of Voldemort's soul from the diadem. The only spell capable of handling it—the Fiendfyre curse—would destroy the diadem along with the soul.
But now, with the Exorcism Curse, a spell specifically against spirits, he could fully eliminate the Horcrux without damaging the diadem.
Ethan held the diadem in one hand and activated the crystal ball with the other. Just like before, a sun-like blue light gate appeared.
Ethan entered first, followed by Penelope and the others. After everyone had crossed, the gate dissolved into blue light and disappeared.
As they entered, the magic torches on the walls of Ravenclaw's secret room ignited once again.
Ethan ignored the excited glances of the three women and went straight to where the books were stored. On the desk, Ethan found Ravenclaw's notes on souls, which he hadn't had the chance to study earlier.
After spending more than two hours reading through the notes, Ethan gained a clear understanding of soul magic.
He retrieved several small tools that would be useful later, placed the diadem on the workbench, and cast a gray-black light from his wand into it. Instantly, he felt a chaotic, lifeless soul trapped inside.
Using the Exorcism Charm, he attempted to extract it. Though he could have broken the soul fragment directly, it was more useful to imprison it as Ravenclaw's notes had suggested. The fragment could serve a purpose in the future, whether for Dumbledore or Voldemort.
Ethan wasn't highly skilled in the Exorcism Charm yet, but after some effort, the fragment began to loosen.
"Ethan, what are you doing?" Penelope asked, returning from her exploration of the room with the others.
"I'm removing the soul from this diadem to restore it to its original state," Ethan replied, still concentrating on his task.
Penelope's eyes lit up. She had felt sorry when she first heard that a legendary alchemical item like the diadem had been tainted. Now, it seemed there was still a chance to fix it.
"Can you do it" Penelope asked
"Yes," Ethan said confidently.
In the original story, Harry and his friends destroyed Horcruxes without considering their intrinsic value because they lacked the means to preserve them. The only Horcrux Dumbledore had kept intact was the Resurrection Stone. Although it had lost its status as a Horcrux, it still retained its original power.
"You should all stand back," Ethan warned as the soul fragment loosened further.
Finally, with one last tug, a grayish-white, ghost-like figure was pulled from the diadem. It was a twisted, deformed shape, unlike the more familiar version of Tom Riddle. The fragment floated lifelessly in the air, resembling a malformed baby with a bald head and misshapen limbs.
This must be a fragment of Voldemort's soul.
Ethan took out a silver goblet he had prepared. According to Ravenclaw's notes, it was an alchemical item she had created to imprison stripped souls. It would work perfectly for sealing the fragment.
Using the Exorcism Charm, he directed the soul fragment into the goblet, activated the magic seal, and securely closed it.
"Was that the soul you just pulled out?" Luna asked, frowning at the goblet. She had sensed a strong malevolent presence when it appeared.
"Yes, that was what turned the diadem into a dark artefact," Ethan confirmed.
With the soul fragment gone, the jewels on Ravenclaw's diadem regained their soft blue glow. It was now the true Ravenclaw diadem once again.
"Try it and see if it works," Ethan said, handing the diadem to Penelope.
As he did, his gaze shifted to the system panel:
[Collector - Ravenclaw's Relic]
The runes of wisdom are inlaid on it, guiding the direction of truth, carrying thousands of years of thought. The power of knowledge flows through it, and the dust of time cannot cover the bright light of wisdom.
Achievement Goal: Obtain the precious item Ravenclaw's Crown (1/1)
Achievement Reward: Wisdom Improvement
Isn't this a reward of a permanent Ravenclaw's Crown buff?
When he was assigned to Ravenclaw Academy, He gained a triple improvement in thinking ability, spell talent, and alchemy talent, but this is the first time he has received an improvement in wisdom.
Wisdom is different from thinking; it is more like an enhancement of inspiration.
The main difference is that thinking emphasizes logic, reasoning, and analysis, while wisdom focuses more on understanding, judgment, and comprehension.
Both can improve learning efficiency: one emphasizes logical analysis, and the other emphasizes innovation.
Ethan was very satisfied with this buff.
