#8: Houses

We continue to walk until we reach a set of double doors. After the man throughs them open,(his name is Hagrid, Remus told me) and see a woman in green ushering us in.

"This is how it will work: I call out your name, you sit down by the hat, once the hat calls out your house, take a seat there. Got it?" she asks.

"Yes" everyone says.

"Now, get into a line," she instructs.

After we got into a line, she leaves the room and escapes into the Great Hall.

"So. What house do you think you guys are gonna be in?" I ask.

Remus, in front of me, says, "Griffindor".

Damian, from behind me, says, "Slytherin".

"You both sound so sure!Didn't Albus Potter go into Slytherin?"

They contemplate this.

Before either of them has a chance to answer, the woman is back.

"Okay, first, is Abbott, Finley!"

A blonde kid rushes out of line and leaves.

"HUFFLEPUFF"

The woman goes on and on, until its just me, the Weasleys, and a brunette.

"R-Riddle, Felicity!" the woman exclaims.

If I didn't know better, I would call that shock.

I walk out of the room amd sit on the stool. Surprisingly, Remus and Damian are sitting together at the Griffindor table! That's the last thing I see before the hat is placed on my head.

'What do I have here?'

A person

'Hmm... You would do great things in Slytherin.'

Okay

'BUT! You would also do good in Griffindor'

...

'I see daring and loyalty in your heart'

How is that even possible?

'Hmmm... A tough case... A really tough case...'

Aren't you supposed to ask me things?

'Like what?'

I don't know, my favorite color?

'Fine. What's your favorite color?"

I'm glad you asked! Purple.

'Really?'

Yeah

'Hmm... That changes things...'

How does that change things?!?

"GRIFFINDOR!"

I'm so confused...

I take off the hat and walk to the Griffindor table and sit next to Remus.
