Chapter 5

"Umm, what is this, and why are you pulling stuff out of your head?" Lucien asked.

"Haha, it's a memory. A chain or linking memory, to be exact. Moments in my life that lead to the creation of those wands. All for you to see in my Pensieve, Now take a look…go on," said Ollivander.

Lucien looked at Ollivander a little weird before looking do at the Pensieve. Moving closer, it felt like he had been pulled into a new world by a vortex. All around him, black smoke fell, hitting the ground. It began with the first memory that sent Ollivander down the road that leads to the creation of the two wands.

In a small study. A young boy sat in front of a fireplace on the lap of a man that looked old enough to be his grandfather. The older gentleman was holding a small book in his hand labeled 'The Tales of Beetle the Bard' preparing to tell the last story of the night.

"Garrick, my boy, last story of the night. I'm going to tell you about the three bothers and how the strongest wand ever made came into existence," said Grandpa Ollivander.

"Did an Ollivander create the strongest wand, grandfather?"- asked a Young Garrick Ollivander.

"Hohoho no, my boy, the one who created this wand understood the ways of magic far beyond what we meager mortals could ever understand. Now listen up"- Grandfather Ollivander

The world changed again as Grandfather Ollivander began to tell 'The Tales of the Three Brothers'

Three brothers, traveling along a lonely, winding road at twilight reached a deep treacherous river where anyone who attempted to swim, or wade would drown. Learned in the magical arts, the brothers conjured a bridge with their wands and proceed to cross.

Halfway through the bridge, a hooded figure stood before them. The figure was the enraged spirit of Death, cheated of his due. Death cunningly pretended to congratulate them and proceeds to award them with gifts of their own choosing.

The eldest brother, a combative man, asked for a wand more powerful than any in existence. Death granted his wish by fashioning the Elder Wand from a branch of a nearby elder tree standing on the banks of the river. The second brother, an arrogant man, chose to further humiliate death and asked for the power to recall the deceased from the grave. Death granted his wish by crafting the Resurrection Stone from a stone picked from the riverbank. The third and youngest brother, who was the most humble and wise, did not trust Death and asked for something to enable him to go forth without Death being able to follow. A reluctant Death, most unwillingly, handed over his own Invisibility Cloak.

The three brothers took their prizes and soon went on their separate ways.

The eldest brother traveled to a village where a wizard whom he had quarreled lived. He sought out a duel and fought the wizard using the wand, instantly killing the latter.

Leaving his enemy dead upon the floor, the eldest brother walked to an inn not far from the dueling site and spent the night there. Taken by his conscience and lust of the Elder Wand's power, the eldest brother boasted of this wand gifted by Death and his own invincibility.

That very night, Death transfigured to a murderous wizard. The unknown murderous wizard crept to the inn as the eldest brother slept, drunk from wine. The wizard slit the oldest brother's throat for good measure and stole the wand. That was when Death took the first brother.

The second brother returned to his home where he lived alone. Turning the stone thrice in his hand the figure of the girl he had once hoped to marry, before her untimely death, appeared at once before him, much to his delight. Yet she was sad and cold, separated from him as by a veil. Though she had returned to the mortal world, she did not truly belong there and suffered. Finally, the second brother, driven mad with hopeless longing, committed suicide by hanging from his house' balcony so as truly to join her. That was when Death took the second brother for his own.

Death searched for the youngest brother as years went by, but, Death never succeeded. It was only when the third brother reached a great age, he took off the Cloak of Invisibility and gave it to his son. Greeting Death as an old friend, they departed this life as equals.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then Scene changed again after the story was finished. A nine-year-old Garrick Ollivander stood at the doorway watched his father, Gervaise Ollivander, struggle with substandard wand cores such as Veela hair, Kneazle whiskers, Dittany stalks, or Kelpie manes, he decided to devote his time to studying the finest wand cores and make the strongest wand. To become a wandmaker that could rival death.

With conviction written on a young Garrick's face, the world went up and smoke again and reforged a new memory in the Pensieve world.

Garrick was now 11 years; He was starting his first year at Hogwarts. He was quite a young talent. Sorted into Ravenclaw, he spent his first three years alone with his books on Hogwarts general education courses along with Wandlore, Magical creatures, and Ancient Runes. It was until his fourth year where he met a fellow Ravenclaw and the love of his life, a veela, Lilith Deveraux. She was a fifth year that Garrick had meet in the Library, she was rambling how the book on wandlore the Garrick took before she could, was way beyond his years, while he stared at her star struck. Her beauty and long think white blonde hair that was all pulled to fall over one shoulder revealing an elegant neck and skin like porcelain that gave her Aquamarine eyes more contrast. Coupled with her rambling of advanced wandlore theory, Garrick had fallen in love.

"You can have the book..." Garrick interrupted her

"What?" Lilith replied, as Garrick's easy surrender slightly caught her off guard

"I said you could have the book, really it's my 4th time reading it. Lamarck's theory of full sentient evolution of the wand by way of the tree and magical creature residual spirit merger nurtured by a wizard's magic is all I read it for"- Garrick

Lilith was really taken aback at this point, although Garrick explained it in layman's term, she knew he understood the theory and also believed in what the nature of the wand could become

"you... you believe wands can evolve?"-Lilith asked with a slight smirk and interest clouding her eyes

The memory than went up in smoke again and changed over reforming multiple scenes at once. Late night and lingering kisses between Lilith and Garrick, studying wandlore together, Lilith's obsession with Recreating the elder wand and Garrick's obsession with becoming the greatest wandmaker in the world even surpassing death. The two were happy together and planned to marry after graduation and search the world for new creatures and new cores.

During their last year at Hogwarts, one of Lilith's friends were finally able to form a summoners contract with a Unicorn from the Forbidden Forest. And was gifted Unicorn tail upon Lilith's request. Lilith and Garrick spent the rest of their last year creating the first wand with a Unicorn tail hair as its core.

Creating wands and hunting creature is what they did together after graduating Hogwarts. Until Garrick took over Ollivander's after the passing of his father. And out of all of Lilith's and Garrick's Discoveries, he sold the wands made of what they deemed the 'Three Golden Cores' shaking up the wizarding world. However, all the credit was given to Ollivander for being a British, male, Ollivander.

But that didn't stop Lilith. She began to form a theory based on Lamarck's Full Sentient evolution and dubbed it 'Core fusion'. It was a mixture of wandlore, Alchemy, Ancient Runes, and Soul magic.

During a trip to America in 1933 for their 10th anniversary. Garrick and Lilith had heard tales of different wand core and Lilith wanted to try here new theory with new material. The first target was the white river monster spine in Arkansas. They met a man named Thiago Quintana.

After some dealing and unbreakable vow, they were given the method to lure the monster from the water.

The next one was when problems raised. Lilith and Garrick visited IIvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and had found out that Isolt Sayre had been buried by a small creek near the school. Feeling ambitious and so close to accomplishing her goal. She planned to rob the grave for the last Horned serpent's horn. Feeling that intent deep in the creek was a cave built by the late Isolt, sleeping there's was the great horned Serpent. Feeling Lilith's ill intent, it went in a rage and shot of the creek to attack, quick on the draw and talented wizards of Ravenclaw, Garrick waved his hand and pulled water from the creek to trap the Serpent. While Lilith drew her wand

"Delatur!" she shouted as a ball of vicious energy shoot from the tip of her wand causing the water prison to explode. Unfortunately, the water prison absorbed most of the spell and the serpent came out slightly injured

Garrick pulled his wand out and point at Isolt's grave

"Bombarda!" He spoke in a quick paced stern voice as the spell cause the stone coffin to shatter.

Painfully aware of what happened the horned serpent mounted another attack this time it a emitted a sorrow filled musical like cry before launching into the air and back down to the couple. Aware of the incoming attack Garrick stepped in front of Lilith while she tried to retrieve the horn from Isolt's Casket

Preparing to protect, Garrick cast a protect field. Suddenly the Horned serpent Disappeared a heavy thud could be heard behind him as the Horned Serpent landed, Lilith apparated in-between it and Garrick as its horned tail penetrated her chest in deadly blow meant for Garrick

Garrick's world started to spend and in the throes of the emotional trauma he threw his arm up aiming his wand point blank at the horned serpent

"AA. Vvadaa Keedaavraaa!" he pushed the deadly curse out with all his might as a mass of green energy engulfed the horned serpent taking its life

The world again went up in black smoke as Garrick held on to his wife's lifeless body

Time passed and Garrick falls into a depression until around, 1945. He was invited to Hogwarts it the Behest of the Headmaster Armando Dippet.

Ready for death and more than willing to accept death with open arms. Garrick had, for the first time laid eyes on a Thestral-and its hairs-. While at Hogwarts the headmaster informed Garrick about the elder wand rumor and that it was in the hands of Mykew Gregorovitch. The two planned to steal it, Garrick felt this was the last thing he could do to repay his late wife. However, somebody had already stolen the wand from Gregorovitch. And in a fit of rage

"Stupefy!" with Gregorovitch down, Garrick searches his place and all he found was the research on the elder wand but, no wand. Taking the Research and obliviating Gregorovitch. Garrick spent years in Ollivander's working to bring Lilith's theory to life. Countless nights without sleep. Until finally

clicked

Garrick added a Veela hair to the Horned serpent and white river monster spine. Adding the effects of pear wood and the alchemical equation to transmogrify it. The wand formed something beautiful and to complete it Garrick added the ancient ruins stabilize the power and replicate the effects of summoner contract but, added a soul aspect. Creating the first ' Tricore Soul Wand' that gains sentients when fused with their master's magic core. True core fusion.

He tried multiple time to repeat the process, but it never works. Until 1956 when Garrick tried once more by forging a wand of Elder wood, Thestral tail hair, Phoenix feathers, and a Basilisk Horn with a perfect balance of life and death energy. Unlike the first wand that was slightly imbalanced since the energy from the Veela hair is extremely temperamental and the horned serpent and white river monster can't beat it into submission.

When the Memory ended. Lucien was kicked out of the Pensive and back into Ollivander's wand shop.

Heavying and trying to recollect himself Lucien looked at Ollivander with questioning eyes

"Soo…you're a grave robber?"-Lucien

Pahhh Ollivander smacked Lucien in the head

"Ahhh, ima let you get away with that Because I just seen you kill a giant snake with magic. But don't do that again and we'll be real groovy" Said Lucien as he robbed his head "So.. these some type of super wands? Can I use them?"

"Maybe, pick one up, the days half gone"-Ollivander

Reaching for the Blue box with a Veela on it, Lucien pulled out 11 and ¾ inch tan wand, the handle had a curve like a karambit handle and the wand itself was had runes wrapped around in a double helix design.

"It feels alright" mutter Lucien before he felt a slight tickle in his arm and the feeling of death began to feel the room. Soon the life in the wand erupted to match it. The wand and Lucien's energy slowly came to a halt and the energies dissipated

"what was that?"-Lucien

"Like I thought your death and resurrection caused your body to have too much life and death energy for a wand with single attribute to handle"-Ollivander

"Will I be dangerous to others?"-Lucien

"Not at all, life and death energy changes in every person depending on the magic they practice. You just have a higher quantity, quality, and absolute balance. Meaning your just talent unlike any in the million years perhaps. And dark magic has virtually no effect on you"-Ollivander

"Both of them are yours for 200 Galleons. Only after acceptance to Hogwarts. Now off you go, chop chop. I've got to clean this place up. Remember Mr.Dubois. I expect great things from you."-Ollivander

Ollivander ushered Lucien out of the shop and closed the door behind him
