Chapter 8: Hacking the System!?! (Not Clickbait)

*More than 50 PPP detected. Shop Unlocked.*

*Would user like to Open shop MENU?*

Yes, I knew it! An item shop! The staple of the degenerate power fantasy, undoubtedly filled with items and skills that will make anyone a living God amongst men. A hallmark of webnovel protagonist worth his salt, and now it's mine. Of course I want to ope-

Of course it's locked.

*Would user like to unlock PPP shop?*

...Yes? Why would it even be locked to begin with?

*100 PPP required*

*Would user like to purchase?*

Oh, that's why. A hundred? I really have no idea if thats a lot or not, but today, I got twenty five just from talking to Lafia, another twenty five for the tutorial, and a hundred for the cutscene. But if I do buy it, I'd only have 50 left to spend on actual stuff.

The Stat Point conversion looks pretty self explanatory for me. 10 PPP for 1 Stat Point, meaning if I spent all my PPP, I'd have 15 Stat points to spend.

*Host stats:

Charisma: 20

Strength: 9

Stamina: 10

Agility: 14

Dexterity: 16

Intelligence: 8

Wisdom: 4

Health: 30/30

Mana: 1/1

My wisdom of four kind of irked me. Is ten average or something? I really don't think I'm that dumb.

*Ding*

*Generating stats for: "Average" civillian from Earth*

Average civillian stats:

Charisma: 7

Strength: 7

Stamina: 7

Agility: 7

Dexterity: 7

Intelligence: 7

Wisdom: 7

Health: 25/25

Mana: 1/1

You could have just said 7. Still, that makes me feel better. How about Lafia?

*Ding*

*Not enough information precisely analyse "Lafia"*

*Making best estimates from known information.*

*Lafia's stats:

Charisma: 30 ~ 40

Strength: 15 ~ 30

Stamina: 20 ~ 45

Agility: 20 ~ 30

Dexterity: 80 ~120

Intelligence: 110 ~ 180

Wisdom: 190 ~ 300

...

You could just tell me you didn't know you shitty system.

*Ding*

*System can guaruntee that "Lafia's" stats fall somewhere within' given range*

Hahaha, no way. That would mean I would be a defenseless baby against a behemoth in the next room.

Gulp.

She did shoot ice, huh.

Even if I poured all my stats into Strength, more than doubling my power output, I still might be physically weaker than her, not to mention, Ice.

*Would user like to Convert 150 PPP?*

...

No. I'll buy the shop. I rather have my options open, and I can always get more points to add to my stats. Maybe there's something in the shop that can help me gather points or something.

*100 PPP required*

Yes

*Ding*

*Congratulations! PPP shop unlocked*

Alright no turning back. Open PPP shop.

Wow it's pretty organized. And look! Skills! Maybe this system isn't so bad after all~

...

I hate this system.

I spent the better part of the last 40 minutes, just sitting in the room, searching my head. What the Hell was this crap? A skill that makes your eyes sparkle to whoever looks at you. One where if you blow a kiss, it will actually land on its target and said victim can actually FEEL IT!?! AND WHAT ABOUT THIS ONE, THAT MAKES THE GIRL FORGET ABOUT HER PARTNER FOR THE NIGHT? AND WHATS THAT?

THERES A SIDE EFFECT?

WHAT COULD IT BE?

ITS A SLIGHT SEDATIVE, OH NO, OOPSIE DAISY, LIKE WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK?!?!?!

Scrolling through the skills, half of them looked like they'd get me stuck behind bars, and for good reasons, too. The gifts weren't what I thought they be, like a hidden skill or bloodline. They're actual presents that you can buy for your potential partner. I closed the window when I saw the dildo coupled with the wedding ring. I dont even want to know the context of why those two are a pair.

The shop items aren't too bad, there's food for around 5 - 10 PPP, and some genuinely useful gear. But the price starts to skyrocket real quick.

--> Shitty Katana: a piece of metal with a stick that you can hold onto. what more do you want? 50 PPP

--> Passable Katana: Steel cut into the shape of a katana. Looks massed Manufactured. 150 PPP

--> Authentic Katana: Forged by a blacksmith, this steel is folded over a thousand times. 1500 PPP

--> Perfect Katana: The best blade forged by mortal hands. 5000 PPP

--> Magical Katana: It's magical. 25000 PPP

There's a lot more stuff in there, but not anything I'd really want to buy right now. At least, not with the amount of points I have.

In this whole shop, there's only one thing I would really consider buying at all. Despite all the sleazy skills that riddle the store, there was something that genuinely caught my eye.

--> Taekwondo mastery: Passive skill. All other stats besides charisma double while in battle. Mastery over the "Taekwondo" style. 50 points.

There were a couple other Mastery books, but their prices were a considerably pricier than the taekwondo book. To my surprise, Wing Chun Mastery was actually cheaper, although the entirety of Kungfu was priced at 300 PPP. Boxing Costs 70 PPP, and it's something I considered saving up for, as it would round out my taekwondo experience. But I already know Taekwondo, and the 50 PPP fit so snugly with what I had left. I wanted to see what would happen to the Mastery on something I already knew. And considering I just spent 100 PPP points with no return yet, I was a little antsy to get something.

I bought a skill. As if anticipating my excitement, the system blared.
