Stacey

Stacey was Hailey's half sister. They had the same father but different mothers. Stacey was a product of an affair Dr Roberts had with a nurse who worked with him. It happened twenty two years ago.

Three years after the birth of Hailey, Mrs Roberts tried to conceive again but there was no conception. Dr Roberts wasn't bothered about it. As long as they were living happily in the family, that was all that mattered to him.

Roberts didn't want to have a relationship outside his marriage but somehow, he started seeing Nurse Matilda. She was a young beautiful lady of age 24. Matilda had flaunted herself around Roberts and eventually, he gave in to her. They began to secretly date each other. He never said anything about it to his wife. He continued his secret affair with the nurse.

Karma caught up with both of them. Two months later, Matilda informed him that she was pregnant!

"No this can't be happening. Matilda, you have to do something about this. My wife must not know about this pregnancy." He said. His conscience was eating him up.

"Sir, what should we do?" She asked.

"Matilda, I'm sorry but you can't keep the baby!"

"You want me to abort it?"

"Yes, it's the only option!"

"I'm sorry Dr Roberts but I can't do it. I'm scared." Roberts reassured her but she didn't change her mind. She refused to abort the child. What would he do? He was done for!

Two months passed and nothing was done. Matilda's belly was gradually getting bigger and some of her colleagues began to gossip about her. She refused to disclose the father of the baby to them. And this left them in a state of suspicion. Roberts knew the situation would soon get out of hand if care was not taken. He decided to let the cat out of the bag.

He gathered up courage and told his wife about Matilda and the unborn child. Mrs Roberts wasn't quite happy about the news. She was disappointed in her husband. Roberts begged his wife to forgive and she forgave him for it. She didn't want Matilda to ruin her marriage.

He took his wife to see Matilda who was already six months gone in the pregnancy. The couple offered a new home for her and the baby. He promised to take care of her and the baby. The child was his responsibility. He couldn't reject it. Matilda agreed to their conditions.

Three months later, she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. They named her Stacey. The baby stayed with Matilda while Roberts came to see the child once in awhile. Roberts' wife also saw the baby. She took the child as her own.

Three years later, Matilda fell sick. She went to the hospital. The doctor diagnosed her of cancer. The cancer had spread through her body and had passed the stage of being managed. She had only a few months to live.

She informed Roberts and his wife. They felt really bad for her. She spent her remaining days with Roberts and the family. She was dying. She was transferred to the hospital for medication but none of it worked. She kicked the bucket at the hospital. She was buried and Stacey began to live with the Roberts. She was just three years old when Matilda passed on. She barely knew her.

Hailey and Stacey great up together, protecting and loving each other. Hailey was three years older than Stacey. The bpmd the girls shared was so strong. Stace was a graduate from law and she was just returning from her law school training.
