Chapter 16: Our story continues

Today marks our 3 months anniversary, we have been dating for 3 months now and time flies by real fast.

I feel like everything we went through together was just yesterday. And summer is a few months away, I still don't know what i wanna do in life, Tyler thinks he needs to follow his father steps, even though i tried to tell him that he needs to do what he loves.

In two weeks it's Christmas and I am so excited to spend my first Christmas with him, but I am focusing on exams, unlike Tyler he is worried about where we should spend Christmas.

"Tyler why don't you focus on studying right now, and when the time comes we'll think about it, and I really don't care where we spend it as long as we are together"

"Ohhh, c'mon it should be perfect, the first Christmas together everything should be perfect."

"You are unbelievable, as long as you pass your exams we can celebrate. Do you want to spend Christmas nagging about how you failed some exams?"

"The only one who's gonna be nagging that I failed is you, nerdy"

he said teasing

"Hey, don't call me that, i prefer tigress, or babe"

"Won't call you that again babe, I love you"

He puts a kiss on my cheek

"I love you, jerk"

I don't know what would I do if I lost him, I can't even think about it.

Heather is still single and focusing on her studies just like she promised herself, and she was right cause I've been a little back on my studies since we started dating.

Tyler is waiting for me at the library to study together, Christmas wishlist was for both of us to pass the exams.

Suddenly the pinciple started talking on the microphone above my head.

"Good morning, students. In this Christmas atmosphere, I wish you all to study well for the exams, and celebrate Christmas happily with your family. My sudden announcement is to tell you that we have a new transfer student coming to our school by this week, I want you all to welcome him with love and respect. Thank you"

Well that new student must be important for the principal to announce his arrival, anyway Tyler is waiting for me, if I run late he is gonna bail on me. I rush to the library and found Tyler waiting for me while using his phone.

"Tyler, thank god you didn't escape the library and left me to study alone."

"This place is like hell, not just the library, but the whole school, and why would I escape I should be thankful to see this face while studying."

He winked at me

"It's not like you did it before, hein?"

"Me? No way!"

We started laughing

"Shhh, get your voice down kids other students are trying to focus here"

The librarian was about to kick us out.

We studied about 3 hours and then went to his house.

"You know I still haven't met your father"

I say as we enter his place.

"And it's better that way, my father does not care about me or about anything I do, he didn't even visit me at the hospital when that accident happened, he feel ashamed of me"

"What no, even though I am sure he loves you no matter what, he is you father after all"

I tried to confront him

"Well no! Mine is not like all fathers all he cares about is that I am taking his business when he retires, that is the only reason I am in school after all, let's change the subject please "

He seems uneasy

So I changed the subject and we talked about everything else, we sat on his balcony stargazing and talking about life.

A few days passed, and the exams are getting closer.

Tyler is in his biology class. Meanwhile me waiting for my next class a guy came to me

"Hey, I am new here, my first class is, umm.."

checking his schedule

"Chemistry, do you by any chance know where this class is?"

"Yes, you are lucky, I have chemistry right now too I can take you there if you like"

A sweet welcoming smile on my lips.

"Oh yes thank you and you are right I am lucky to have found such a kind girl in the same class as me"

He smiles

We walked to class "I didn't catch you name"

He raised a hand waiting for my response

"Oh, my name is Millie"

I shake his hand

"I am James, what a beautiful name, doesn't it mean determination and strength?"

He asks

"Yeah, how did you know?"

I ask curiously

"Well, I kinda like studying the meaning of names, when I wish my name had a special meaning"

"Oh no james is a great name, yeah I know they all used to tell me that"

We entered class and by chance we sat next to each other.

The bell rang, it's break time best time of the day for Tyler, he usually waits for me in front of my class.

I was walking outside when James calls my name

"Hey Millie wanna go to the cafeteria together? I still don't have any friends if you can keep me company"

"Yeah sure"

I step outside of class with him, looking for Tyler he was nowhere to be seen, I decided to wait for him in the cafeteria with James.

The cafeteria was crowded with people unlike the usual.

"Does it always have that many people in here?"

James asks surprised

"Well no but, ...oh Tyler there you are! Where were you?"

"Babe, it's pizza day, i thought you'll come here running"

"Hahahah, yes I forgot about that, well did you at least get me a piece?"

"I don't think there are any left sorry tigress, maybe next time"

"Anyway, I wanted to introduce you to my new friend"

Tyler turns around and his expression turns blank

"Tyler, hi do you remember me?

I am James, I met your friend here, we are in the same class do you believe that?"

"Oh,.. you two.. know each other..?

I was surprised even though Tyler is kinda popular everywhere we goes.

After a few moments Tyler snaps back to reality

"She is not my friend, she is my girlfriend, and no I do not remember you I'm sorry not a James crosses my mind, you got the wrong person"

Tyler seemed tense

"That's a shame, she is beautiful, and I remember you well Tyler we where friends back in school"

Tyler faces me, but still looking at him, and hold my arm

"Millie, babe let's just go"

He isn't acting himself, so I just followed him.

"I'm sorry james, we have to go, here is your chance to meet new friends"

"Okayy, bye chemistry girl, see you later"

I got some words with Tyler.
