Chapter 28: Unexpected Request

Gremory Mansion,

"Onii-san, I really want you to teach me how to use the Power of Destruction," Rias said with a strong determination shining in her eyes.

Sirzech Lucifer, a man with fiery red hair, sat at his desk, engrossed in his work. By his side stood Grayfia Lucifuge, his wife and maid, her silver hair flowing elegantly as she wore her maid outfit.

Both of them were taken aback when Rias suddenly approached them, expressing her desire for training. Sirzech couldn't believe his ears. His usually carefree sister was now earnestly asking him for guidance.

Grayfia, though surprised, had a slightly less shocked reaction. She had a hunch that Rias would eventually turn to her husband for help, given that their Akeno had done the same before.

"This is unexpected. But what's brought on this sudden determination?" Sirzech asked, genuinely curious.

Rias took a moment, trying to find the right words. "Well, I just feel the need to become stronger quickly," she replied, carefully concealing her true motive of acquiring Yuuto's heart.

Sirzech noticed the flicker of dishonesty in her eyes, but he decided not to press the issue further.

"We can begin the training tomorrow at our family's training ground," Sirzech replied a warm smile on his face despite his sister's eagerness.

Rias politely asked, "Can...we start the training today?"

Sirzech glanced at his wife, seeking her approval. With a nod, Grayfia indicated that he could go ahead and train Rias first before attending his duties as a Lucifer.

Rising from his seat, Sirzech nodded back at Grayfia and said, "Alright, we can start your training."

....

They made their way to the training ground, Sirzech and Rias standing face to face.

"Just to be sure, are you absolutely certain that you want me to train you?" Sirzech asked, wanting to confirm Rias' commitment.

"Yes," Rias responded firmly, her determination unwavering.

"Alright then, let's begin by creating the largest orb of destruction you can muster," Sirzech instructed.

Rias extended her right hand, summoning a massive ball of destruction, showcasing her power.

"Hmm, now try to shrink it without sacrificing its power. Keep repeating this process until you can achieve what I've described," Sirzech explained. In a hushed tone, he whispered to Grayfia, "Grayfia, keep a close eye on her. If she seems overwhelmed, we can pause the training."

Gritting her teeth, Rias gave her all to reduce the size of the destructive orb. Thoughts raced through her mind. 'Isn't this the same training routine Yuuto suggested? Why didn't I listen to him?' Regret seeped into her thoughts as she pushed herself to the limit.

Grayfia nodded, acknowledging her role, and dutifully carried out the task assigned to her.

"I'll return to my office to finish the remaining paperwork," Sirzech declared as he departed, leaving Rias and Grayfia alone.

Rias' destructive orb had decreased in size by a mere inch, but beads of sweat formed on her forehead, evidence of her exertion.

An hour passed, and Rias showed no signs of giving up, persistently striving to shrink the orb of destruction.

A faint smile graced Grayfia's lips, recognizing the shifting determination within the Gremory heiress.

'Let's hope her determination will not waver' Grayfia silently whispered to herself, hopeful for the transformation taking place within Rias.

While Rias embarked on her training journey to become stronger alongside her brother, Yuuto found himself in Britain, enjoying a meal of fish and chips.

Why was he there? Simply to indulge in some sightseeing. It had been a while since he set foot in this unfortunate place.

After savouring the last bite of his meal, he made his way to a location he wished to visit for one last time—the very spot where he had met his untimely demise in his past life.

As Yuuto stood at the place where he had met his unfortunate demise, he couldn't help but reflect on the absurdity of the situation. "It's crazy to think that I was stabbed right here in this graveyard. I had just graduated, and someone decided to completely mess up my life," he sighed, his gaze fixed on the spot that held such significance for him. "Once I'm finished here, I really should make a trip back to my home country."

Taking in the surroundings, Yuuto couldn't deny the mystical atmosphere that seemed to permeate the area. "But there's definitely something special about this place like it's blessed by Lady Lake," he murmured to himself, feeling the strong presence of mana in the air. "I should find a peaceful spot where I can just sit and meditate for a while, away from all the distractions."

Seeking a secluded location devoid of any onlookers, Yuuto discovered a nearby forest and ventured inside.

"This spot should do," he murmured, settling himself against a sturdy tree trunk and preparing to enter a state of deep meditation.

As he entered his meditative state, his body began to absorb the natural energy of the surroundings, blending it harmoniously with his own demonic power.

Unbeknownst to Yuuto, he had attracted the attention of several factions lurking in the shadows of Britain. From a distance, they closely monitored his every move.

"Should we engage boss?" one of the observers whispered, seeking guidance.

"No, he's a devil hailing from the prestigious Gremory family. Kiba Yuuto, if I recall correctly. He's one of the heirs' trusted servants," the boss replied calmly. "Let's continue observing his actions for now. However, if he exhibits any signs of danger or suspicion, we'll need to take immediate and drastic measures."

"Understood," came the obedient response.

Yuuto was well aware that he was being watched, but fear did not grip him. Why? Because with his sheer power, he could single-handedly sink this entire island. His sensory abilities had sharpened immensely since unlocking Sage Mode. He knows where exactly the onlooker is.

Training Ground, Gremory Mansion

Rias's body was drenched in sweat, and she struggled to catch her breath after the demanding exercise. Grayfia observed with a small smile, impressed by Rias's unwavering determination in her training.

'This is such great news for our family,' Grayfia thought to herself, feeling relieved. 'Now we can stop worrying about how she'll fare in the Devil society.'

Gasping for air, Rias turned to Grayfia and asked, "Grayfia-san, do you have any tips to make this a little easier? My body is feeling exhausted, and I could use some guidance." She found a spot on the ground to rest her tired muscles.

Before Grayfia could respond, a crimson magical sigil materialized on the ground, heralding the arrival of an unexpected visitor. Rias was taken aback as she watched Akeno step out of the magical portal.

"Why is she here?" Rias wondered, her confusion evident on her face as she observed Akeno's arrival.

"Ehh, Rias, what brings you here?" Akeno inquired her expression a mix of puzzlement and mischief. "Ufufu, this seems quite intriguing."

Grayfia interjected, breaking the silence. "Since you're here, we can continue with our training from where we left off."

Startled, Rias turned to Grayfia and asked, "Wait, when did you two decide to train together? I didn't know about this."

"Well, I can't afford to fall behind while Yuuto keeps getting stronger every day. His progress is on a whole different level compared to ours," Akeno admitted, a tinge of competitiveness in her voice. However, she also had another reason in her heart. 'And, well, you never know when Yuuto's powers might go out of control. I want to be there to help him if that happens.'

Rias looked at Akeno with a mixture of curiosity and slight disbelief. "Wait, how long have you been training with Grayfia? I had no idea you were dedicating so much time to this. I always thought you were mostly focused on spending time with Yuuto."

Akeno chuckled softly, a hint of pride in her voice. "Well, it all began when Yuuto decided to go all-in with his training. That's when I realized I had to step up my game too and I don't want to be like you"
