Swordsmenship training - 2

" What would you expect from the of a womanizer." A loud voice was heard from one of the male knights.

Claude clearly recognised the taunt but he just sighed inwardly. No matter where you go the chains of past will always bind you.

' But I don't care, after all—'

Before Claude can even complete his sentence a felt a small burst of mana from Ares and just like that Ares directly appeared in front of the knight. Probably the one who taunted Claude.

" I don't fucking care if you talk anything behind my back but you want to talk in front of me than be prepared to face the consequences." Ares said and kicked the knight on the chest with enough strength to sent him crashing in a tree.

" Aren't you that son of the baron who tried to kill his brother to usurp his position. Your father requested me and sent you here to give you some teachings of life." Ares said slowly walking towards the knight with a cold expression that sent chills down on everyone's spine except Claude and Eren.

" Now listen, no one will ask me or say to me anything if I kill you or your whole family because a sword saint is way better than a worthless son. That's why remember this Claude is my son I don't care if step or not but I have accepted him with my whole being." Ares finally concluded and asked a tier 2 mage to take the knight in front of him away and heal him.

Ares had expected something like this to happen but he was already prepared to beat the shit out of one knight so that the others will understand the consequences. And his small show worked, everyone in the knight dormitory understood that messing with either of the sword saint's son is simply courting death.

" Alright, all the knights start your daily workout and the swordsmen start your daily jog." Ares said out loud with smile as if he has not literally kicked one of his own knight to death.

" Claude and Eren you also start jogging with the other swordsmen." He said to Claude and Eren, according to Eren you have to jog for at least a whole hour before doing some basic workout to make your body flexible and agile.

" Are you also teaching them how to become a sword master ?" Claude asked while jogging behind Ares.

" No, unlike knights who are sended to join the protection team of the village, swordsmen here have paid me to train them. I have only agreed on making their body perfect for swordsmenship but using mana with sword which only a sword master can do is something they have to learn from someone else or on their own." Ares replied.

" And what about you ? Don't you want to become a sword sage." Claude asked after agreeing with Ares earlier method. Teach them to earn money but only enough to not make them a threat to you.

" It's not like I can't, it's more like I don't want to." Ares replied.

" Why ?" Claude asked in confusion.

" In North their are only three sword sages who are directly under the three Duke's. If they know that another sword sage has appeared than they will try to eliminate him, so that the balance is not broken. In short, I will have to leave North and go to other duchies and counties nearer to the capital and I am not willing to leave the North just because this is a peasantry region." He replied.

" Why is North peasantry ? I have also heard some people of the village calling North the worst place of empire to live." This time it was Eren who asked the question, not wanting Claude to have all his father's attention.

" Because unlike other regions of the empire North is vast and snowy. But these are just one of the many reasons. North is territory of monsters and beasts, North has the most mines and dungeons in the whole empire but farmlands, not so much. That means North is a place akin to hell. That's why any of the past emperors have never focused much on North, leaving north completely in the hands of the three Duke families. Which caused a competition for prosperity within the three duchies, sometimes leading to war." He concluded the explanation of North in a tone of mockery.

" I don't see your reason to staying in North than." Claude asked understanding the situation of North.

" The other places except north doesn't like the people of the North much because most of North is peasantry. They look down on people of North. If you don't get admitted in the imperial academy than be ready to go through years of contempt and mockery. If you want to leave North that is. But my reason for not leaving North is because I don't want to live the place where I was born, where I rised as a sword saint and where I got my two loving wife. Even your mother did not leave the North after so much." He said the last sentence looking at Claude's face.

As expected when Claude heard about Amber, his expression become solemn and he stopped asking further questions. Ares understood that just not Amber but Claude himself has not recovered from yesterday's conversation. He also recognised that he had made his mood ugly but he didn't regret it. Ares only has few rules in his life:- Don't make and enemy of someone stronger and live with no regrets. What will you expect from someone who was willing to marry a woman with someone else's child, Ares was birthright crazy and insane.

After jogging for one hour, Ares with Claude, Eren and all the swordsmen return to dormitory. They start doing the basic workout for swordsmen. There was huge difference between the workout of swordsmen and knights. Swordsmen workout was more inclined on increase the reaction, speed and flexibility. Knights workout was completely opposite, they were trained to be sturdy, stable and strong.

Though it was a bit hard for Claude because Claude's body is still not used to physical movements much because of past years but thanks to him being an awakened his stamina was almost unending. This helped him to overcome his bodies limitations and train more vigorously than others. Everyone including Ares, Eren and all the swordsmen and knights were surprised seeing Claude's unending stamina.

They looked at him and then looked at Ares, sighed and said :-

" No matter step or real. The son of a beast is also beast."

After the workout ended it was time for the most boring but easiest part of the training and that was lectures. Even though swordsmenship and knightship are physical discipline. They also have knowledge and tactics which are needed to be understood.

Eren, Claude and everyone sat on the ground of training field while Ares brought a blackboard and a chalk.

" Now who is going to tell me about ranks ?" Ares asked.

But among the people sitted only a few people except Claude and Eren raised their hands.
