Chapter 49 Chrys' lesson

"Are you girls not going to attack? Fine, then. I'll start." Chrys said, approching the girls in a casual manner while still holding his staff with a menacing aura surrounding his body.

The girls made a nervous gulp while asking themselves. "Do we run or fight?"

Chrys raised his hand and scratched the back of his head while saying. "Oh, I guess it's a bit unfair, isn't it?"

While keeping up his pace, Chrys continued. "Just for you girls, I'll hold back a bit while I teach you since we don't want Lilly to be ...too mad."

Chrys then stopped walking before continuing after a second. Only this time his pace was much slower, so does his other movements like his arms. Feeling like time slowed down for him.

"Is that your way of holding back?!" Rose asked upon seeing Chrys' slow movements.

"I... don't... know... what... you're... talking... about..." Chrys replied.

"You're also talking like that!" Amber shouted looking very angry.

"Haha! Fine, then. I'll stop." Chrys laughed as he continued to approach them at a slow pace.

Upon realizing that Chrys was getting too close to them, the girls scattered as they continued to watch Chrys' intentently.

As Chrys continued to approach them at a snail's pace, Miya took a deep breath, then took a step forward right after.

"Oh? You're approaching me?" Chrys asked Miya while looking very confident to the point that it looks like arrogance.

Seeing Chrys' arrogant face, the girls felt very insulted and very annoyed.

The girls all took a step forward at the same time while Miya replied. "I can't attack you without getting closer."

"Oh ho! Then, come as close as you like." Chrys responded as he continued his slow and menacing approach.

The girls did the same, approaching him with the same slow and menacing manner.

In a second, Miya drew both her knives and began to ran to the side towards Amber.

Chrys stopped and merely followed her with his eyes. His mouth forming a very mocking smirk almost as if it's saying. "Come on! Hit me!" Which he said a second later.

Taking advantage of Miya's distraction, Rose approached from Chrys' blind spot and attack with the flat side of her weapon.

The attack was promtly blocked by Chrys' golden aura. Noticing Rose's attack, Chrys slowly turned his head towards her while still wearing that irritating smile.

Chrys then took a swing at Rose with his staff very slowly. Giving Rose a lifetime worth of time to dodge.

After missing Rose by a mile, Chrys returned to a neutral stance as he said. "Oh, darn. It looks like I was too slow."

Chrys smiled at Rose with a mocking and irritating smile, making Rose feel very insulted as her face showed a bit of annoyance and anger.

Like what Rose did earlier, Amber attacked Chrys from his blind spot that was formed due to a distraction.

But, unlike Rose, Amber didn't hold back when attacking. She gave it her all, attacking Chrys in the head.

Amber's baton almost broke due to the clash between Amber's full swing and the golden aura that protected Chrys' head.

Amber immediately took a step back upon attacking, her face distorted by anger and irritation.

Chrys slowly turned towards her with his smile as he said. "That's good. Don't hold back on your opponent while attacking because they might get hurt. Since the reason you're attacking in the first place is, to hurt them."

"Oops, forgot to swing." Chrys exclaimed before using his staff to swing slowly at the place Amber was at a couple of seconds ago.

"Darn it. I missed again." Chrys calmly said while still giving the girls his mocking smile.

Miya walked up to Amber and asked in a low voice. "Can we defeat him?"

"No way, people more powerful than us tried." Amber replied calmly.

"But, even though we might not be able to defeat him. I still want to hit him, since this is now personal." Amber continued as a vein appeared on her forehead while looking very angry.

Miya stared at Amber with a look of concern before turning to Rose, who has the same expression as Amber.

They all attacked Chrys at the same time. But, all of their attacks was blocked by Chrys' golden aura.

Seeing their attacks fail, the girls immediately retreated. Chrys then slowly performed a horizontal slash a moment later.

After returning to a neutral stance, Chrys said while placing a hand on his chin. "Ah, missed again. Must be a bad day for me. Hahaha!"

Chrys then began to laugh maniacally shortly after finishing his sentence. Adding to Rose's and Amber's annoyance.

"Stop messing around and fight seriously!" Rose screamed while wearing an annoyed face.

"Wow! This is what I get after being such a nice guy and helping you..." Chrys sighed while still wearing that irritating grin.

"You're not a nice guy, and you're also not helping!!!" Amber and Rose screamed simultaniously.

Miya looked at them in disbelief as she just stood there.

Chrys then continued his maniacal laughter as the girls went in for another attack.

Then suddenly, Chrys stopped the momentum of his swing, causing the staff to stop mid-air. He then began to swing it the direction Rose was at, but it came from very slowly.

"A back slash? Very sneaky, but it's still too damn slow!" Rose said as she readied herself to dodge the attack.

Then, something that no one expected happened. The Chrys' staff sped up to a frightening speed.

Before Rose could process what was happening. She was hit on the side and was sent flying sidewards, dropping her weapon to the ground in the process.

"Rose!!" Amber and Miya shouted as Rose's body slammed into the floor.

They then looked at the direction of the man that sent Rose flying, Chrys.

But, the place where Chrys stood was only a empty place, as Chrys has already moved faster than they could react.

The place where Chrys stood was now directly in front of Miya. Chrys' face was obscured by a shadow, but Miya could tell that his smile from earlier was gone.

With a swift motion, Chrys stabbed Miya in the gut with the blunt end of his staff, causing Miya to release a pained groan as she fell to her knees.

"Miy-!" Before Amber could finish what she was saying. Chrys sent his staff into the side of her face, sending her flying.

Then, for the next few moments, a one-sided beatdown occured. With Chrys attacking so fast that the girls don't have time to recover.

After almost thirty seconds, Chrys clapped his hands while saying. "Alright, that's enough one-sided massacre for today. Let's try to remember what we learned today, shall we?"

Chrys then knelt down to the girls on the ground in front of him. They all had bruises and black spots everywhere on their bodies.

They then replied.

"We learned that you are a heartless bastard."

"A very bad guy."

"And, a very annoying person."

"Haha!" Chrys then began to laugh loudly upon hearing their replies.

He then said a moment later. "In life, you can make countless mistakes, that's what life is about. Learning from mistakes."

"But, in battle. One mistake can cause you that very same life. Let's see what mistakes you made, shall we?"

Chrys then raised a finger as the girls watched him with scornful gazes.

"Your first mistakes was, you let me get under your skin."

"By doing what I did, I made you overwhelm yourself with negative emotion. This caused you girls to not try and escape while making you girls think irrationally."

"I mean, come on. You saw that your attacks weren't working, yet you still kept on doing it." Chrys said to them with a smile that the girls knew too well.

"That's because I wanted to hit you for being annoying!" Amber shouted while holding the injuries she gained during the fight.

"That's the point. You acted like how I wanted you to act. And, I was able to exploit your vulnerabilities because of it." Chrys replied.

The three girls seemed to have come to a realization after hearing Chrys' words.

"Which leads us to your second mistake." Chrys continued as he raised a second finger.

"When I said I'll hold back. You girls took my word like it was God's words."

"That might be an exaggeration. Sure, you had a little doubt at the start, but as the battle went on. You let your guard down."

"This made you girls make a mistake that dictated the battle'."

"Because you let your guard down when you saw how slow I was moving, you got overconfident. It made it super easy to wipe the floor with you girls."

"In battle, the only thing that really matters is the outcome."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. We got it wise guy." Amber growled still looking a bit angry.

"Does it hurt?" Chrys asked.

"What do you think?!" Rose and Amber shouted with Miya glaring silently.

"That's good." Chrys said as he stood up.

"Remember that pain. Even though I might seem like a heartless bastard for hurting young girls... There are people out there worse than me."

Chrys looked down at the girls with serious eyes, causing a chill to run up their spine.

"There are people out there who wouldn't hesitate killing a helpless child. There are also people who would inflict and enjoy, causing worse pain than what you're feeling now."

"So, remember that feeling. And, try to imagine a pain worse than that. Think about it whenever you feel like losing or making a mistake."

"Don't make a mistake, got it." Miya said as she looked up at Chrys from the floor.

Hearing Miya's reply, Chrys then proceeded to throw his staff into the air. The girls followed the staff as it went high in the air.

As they watched the staff, Chrys placed his hand on Miya's face, causing Miya to look at him as he said. "You're already dead... if I was your opponent.

Chrys then removed his hand away from the shook Miya's face while saying. "Talk is easy. Applying it is the hard part."

Rose noddedbas she said. "Alright, I'll apply it right now."

"Are you sure about that?" Chrys asked.

"Ouch!" Rose let out a pained cry as the staff Chrys threw earlier landed right on her head.

"Hehehe..." Chrys let out an amused giggle as the staff floated it's way back into Chrys' grasp.

Chrys then raised his head as if noticing something. He then turned around and faced the door, causing the beat-up girls to do the same.

There in the doorway, a petite girl with white hair stood. This was of coarse Lilly, and she does not looked impressed.

She switched her attention to the badly beaten-up girls and Chrys, who has a straight up sadistic smile.

Before Lilly could say anything, Chrys bolted at her. Just as he was about to reach her, Chrys used the staff in his hand and proceeded to use it as a polevault. It sent him airborne as he let go of the staff, causing it to hit the ground.

Just as he was above Lilly, he extended his hand and rubbed Lilly's head, causing her neatly kept white hair to turn messy.

He then landed behind her and proceed to run towards the door. As he ran out the door and into the massive hallways, he shouted. "Running away!!!"

After Chrys has left and disappeared to somewhere. Lilly turned to the beaten-up girls, who all have a bashful expression, as she asked with darkened expression.

"What the FUCK did he do?!!!"
