Standing before a steaming mountain of rubble, Lord Jade looked on at the mess before him.
The mountains in the distance, blown into bits, chopping them down to half of their majesty.
Large rocks, small rocks, crushed trees, and muddy earth, filled with footprints.
"Over here! I hear someone! Get someone that could remove this rock!"
"The entrance should be here! Dig into the mines! Maybe some survivors are trapped down there!"
As the people of the Jade region scaled the rubble, trying to save as much life as possible, Lord Jade gazed upon the scene with a determined look on his face.
And without saying a word, he left, leaving the management of the operation to his subordinates.
Off to the side, Jade stood, watching the people doing their best.
Then, Dianne approached, asking. "Jade, are you sure you want to be here?"
To which Jade replied. "Where else am I supposed to be? Quick. Show me where I can help."
"Jade-"
Just then, Sun and Tat approached in a hurry.
"Princess, we have heard what happened!"
Jade then asked. "Why are you guys here? Weren't you guys supposed to pick up the masters?"
Tat then said. "The masters are preoccupied right now. The beasts on the eastern border are getting agitated, and this mess caused shockwaves all the way out there. Causing even more of a mess."
"Can we count on them being here when the time comes?"
"They said they will be here a little bit afternoon."
"Good. Rest for now, Tat, Sun. After that, try and help out where you can."
"Yes, Princess."
"Yes, Princess."
Somewhere else, Matt and Shan talked as they helped the people get rid of the rubble that blocked their way.
"...What do you think will happen next?"
"Why are you asking me?"
"Just asking the question in everyone's mind."
"Well... Like everybody else, I don't know. But what I do know is that... It's just starting."
"Do you think we can stop it?"
"Aww! Don't get self-concious now, little sheep." Matt said with an insanely mocking tone while wearing a massive grin.
While sending a punch to his side, Shan stated. "If you call me that... one more time, then I will shove this sword, so far up your ass! Your sister will wish she never gave birth to you!!"
To which Matt replied. "Oh no! Don't do that~!"
Under the shade of a tree away from the people, Lord Jade was approached by Joan and Deniss.
As they knelt before him, Lord Jade asked. "Tell me... How deep does the damage go?"
To which Joan replied. "The Master of the Mine is dead, his body was retrieved under some rubble. The total death count is still being worked on, but a lot of the injured are being taken care off."
Then, after a bit of silent thinking, Lord Jade commanded. "Continue the operations here. Call upon the family heads for more help if necessary. But keep a substantial amount of men situated in the city, I presume you know why."
"Yes, Your Highness!"
"Yes, Your Highness!"
"Now go! I have other business to attend to."
As they left, Lord Jade walked off, looking extremely serious while looking off into something distant with his eyes.
And just like that, time went by.
As night soon fell, as the people began to return home and rest, a certain man arose from his bed with a rejuvinated expression.
Putting on a set of easy-to-move-in clothes, the man then went over to the side, grabbing his trusty blade that hung from the side of a wall.
Then, he paused.
He then slowly turned towards the door that lead out of his room.
With a set of slow and steady movements, he made his way towards the door.
And with the help of a tiny slip between the door and the doorframe, his eyes were greeted by the light outside of his room.
His vision was then filled with the view of the hallway.
Aside from what you would expect from a hallway, on a chair by the side of a table, holding a bowl filled with fresh fruits, a woman sat.
She had her hand on her chin as it supported itself with the aid of the table and her elbow.
Her face, although somewhat sleepy, showed a bit of resistance as she tried to keep her eyes open
Seeing this, the person behind the door took a few steps away from it before sitting down onto the floor.
He then threw his blade, shining a pure silver color, before placing it near his body.
Then, with a flick of his fingers, the impact on the blade caused a ringing noise.
Not the ringing you would hear from a bell, nor was it the ringing you would get from a piece of metal. It was a humm, like the crickets' song in the night.
It was both rhytmic, melodic, and hypnotic.
After repeating the action of hitting the flat side of his blade with his fingers, causing the humming to continue, the man then stood up from the floor as he sheated his blade.
Then, with a slow and quiet motion, he opened the door to his room.
The woman, who was keeping watch outside, now lay asleep on the table.
Seeing the woman in a deep slumber, the man then left his room, allowing his pure white hair to feel the moonlight coming through the window off to the side.
As Prince Tsuku silently made his way towards the window, he turned to his side, looking at the sleeping figure of his sister, just sleeping on the table outside of his room.
Then, Prince Tsuku took the fruit bowl on the table, making sure to not let it touch Queen Ame's arms, which was inches away from it.
After securing the fruit bowl away from her, he then placed it onto the floor by the window.
Then, with a whispery voice, he said. "Good night, sister."
Then, with a quick yet silent motion, he leapt out of the window.
"Mnm..."
After just a few seconds, Queen Ame moved into a much more comfortable position on the table, still deep in her sleep.
As she placed her head onto her arms, she turned her head to the side, showing a peaceful expression on her face, accompanied by an innocent smile.
