Chapter 117 Pick up

"Uuuuugh!" Said a man walking through a hilly landscape.

"Uuuuuuuuugh!!!" The man continued as he walked through the forest growing around the mountain trail.

"UUUGH!" The man moaned as the birds flew away from their nest due to a monster's moan.

"UUUUUUUUGH!!!" Answered the man as he scalled a sheer cliff with only his body as a tool.

"AAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!"

And finally, with a lot of groaning, the man, who is named Deniss, finally reached his destination. The top of the highest peak with no path leading up to it, completely separated from the world.

As he stood tired up on the top, he saw a little house built in the middle of the plateau. Beside it, a bird is perched on a tree.

With a face of pure annoyance and anger, Deniss pointed his middle fingers towards the bird as he said. "Fuck you, you lazy bird!!! Why couldn't you just deliver it to the palace yourself?!!!"

With a pair of smiling eyes, the bird flew up in the sky and soared high above, eventually disappearing into the northwest mountain range.

As Deniss followed the birds trail with pissed off eyes, the door to the house opened, revealing a young lady with an annoyed expression.

She placed her hands onto her waist, which were covered in long sleeves starting from her shoulders, all the way to her knees if she hangs her arms to the side. A set of ten rings are wrapped around her wrist, preventing the sleeves from getting too unruly.

With a disgusted glare pointed towards Deniss, who was also giving the same look, the young woman asked. "What are you doing here, you piece of shit?"

Without any attempt to hide his annoyance, Deniss replied. "I was on my way to take out the trash. Looks like I have made it to the right place."

"Of course. You are always with your face, are you not? Your trash will always feel at home."

"My face? My GLORIOUS face? Of course my trash would feel at home when they have this GLORIOUSNESS with them."

"..."

With a swift motion, the young lady took a letter out of her person before throwing it just before Deniss, who remained motionless.

"..."

"..."

"... What are you waiting? Go pick it up." Said the  young lady with the long sleeves, looking all high and mighty.

With an unmoving body, Deniss replied. "Why don't YOU pick it up? You seem to have missed your throw. It would be HUMILIATING if you failed such a close shot."

"Ohohoho!" The young lady laughed in such a dignified manner.

Then, the young lady said with a demanding tone. "Pick it up."

To which Deniss replied. "No..."

"..."

"..."

The pair continued to glare at each other while the letter just kinda sat on the ground between them.

Then, as if tired of their act, a gust of wind came. Sending the letter airborne and towards Deniss, who caught it easily.

"Hmph!"

"Hmph!"

After exchanging grunts, the two turned away from each other.

As the young lady began walking back into her house, Deniss opened the letter as he walked away.

After reading it's contents, Deniss said out loud. "Oi! Are you sure this is a letter from Dragon Boy?"

Without turning around, the young lady replied. "I'm not as incompetent as you."

"..."

"..."

"Well... This is a bit concerning." Deniss said as he continued to stare at the letter.

Hearing Deniss' unusual silence, the young lady couldn't help but turn around a little, just enough so he doesn't notice.

"..."

"..."

After a bit of silence and hesitation, the young lady turned her back fully from Deniss as she said. "Are you done? I'm feeling dizzy by just you being here."

"... Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'll leave. I also feel like my stomach is turning by just thinking about you..."

"And also... why are you living on top of this stinking mountain?!"

"... To piss you off."

"Fuck you. And because I'm such a nice guy, I'll give you a piece of advice..."

"If you jump of this cliff, did you know that you can survive and deliver this letter by yourself?"

"... I already know that, you stupid idiot. How else do you think I get down from here?"

"I just assume you don't. Might want to consider going with a bald look for yourself."

"Leave. Before I kick you off this cliff."

"Do it. I bet you would enjoy it more than I would-wait, what?"

Without saying another word, the young lady went inside and closed a door between them.

"Hmph!" With a cold snort, Deniss left the house ontop of the mountians.

He tucked the letter in his clothes as he began making the arduous task of climbing back down the way he came.

He somehow managed, but did so while mumbling curses all the way.

At the same time, within the Jade capital's pathways that are surrounded by buildings, two men walked. It was Kenny and Sun, fresh out of trouble.

As they walked, Kenny softly elbowed Sun, gathering his attention. Then, Kenny pointed at the otherside of the road.

Sun then gazed where he pointed, to see a young lady looking a little lost.

Seeing this, Sun gave an elbow back to Kenny as he wore a cheeky smile.

Kenny returned one back as he then called out. "Miss Fang. Nice to meet you today."

Turning her head, the young lady then said with a smile. "Ah, Kenny, Sun, how are you guys today?"

"It just got better."

"I'm also good... Banana?"

"No thank you, Sun... Do you always have a bundle with you?"

"Yes..."

"So, Miss Fang, can I help you with something?"

"Ah, umm, why do you say that, Mister Kenny?"

"Why are you suddenly adding 'Mister', Lady Fang?"

With a nervous chuckle, the young lady then said. "Well, you always add 'Miss' or 'Lady' when you talk to me. Why do YOU do that? Huh?"

"Well, you see... I feel like your father is always breathing down my neck whenever I meet up with you. Best be safe."

"Do not worry about him... Kenny. He is just a little overprotective."

"Uh huh."

As the two continued to talk, Sun slowly backed away, leaving the two alone to talk.

"It appears... you are avoiding my question, Miss Fang. What is it that bothers you today?"

"Hehehe, and I'll ask again, why do you say that?"

"You look like a lost child in a market with your parents nowhere in sight."

"Did I really look like that?"

"Indeed."

"Hehe! Mind helping me then, Kenny?"

"Of course. How can I help?"

"Ah, well, you see... I'm looking for a chicken."

"A chicken?"

"Yes. I lost it somewhere."

"You sure you aren't looking for me? I am a beast with chicken-like traits."

The young lady Fang then looked at Kenny, staring into his body, that clearly has a few little feather growing out of him, but she was more focused on Kenny's smile.

Seeing that Lady Fang has fallen into his trap, Kenny did not waste the opportunity and immediately asked. "You know... I think I heard a joke about a chicken once. Want to here it, Miss Fang?"

Snapping out of her daze, Lady Fang could only nod.

Seeing her approval, Kenny continued. "Why did the chicken cross the road?"

"Umm, to get to the otherside?"

"To greet a beautiful lady."

"..."

"Knock, knock."

"Oh! Umm, who's there?"

"The chicken!"

Lady Fang's expression told Kenny that inside her mind, she was trying to figure it out.

Slowly, her mouth and eyes began opening wide as her face slowly began turning red. Kenny's smile grew larger alongside it.

Then, before anybody could do anything more, a chicken appeared.

It flapped it's wings as it hopped into Lady Fang's arms.

Seizing the opportunity presented to her, Lady Fang then said. "Ah, it looks like it came back to me just fine. Sorry for the inconvenience, Kenny. I better get back now."

After saying that, Lady Fang ran away with all her might while still being red in the ears. But as she did this, the chicken in her arms looked back at Kenny.

It gave him a menacing stare, as if he was sending a message, or rather, a threat.

Kenny remained unfazed as he watched Lady Fang ran away as the chicken continued to glare back at him.

Then, Sun walked over to him, tapped him in the shoulder before he said. "Imagine getting cockblocked by a chicken."

Then, Sun placed his hand on the side of his head as he continued. "Wait! Cockblock?! Chicken?!!! Aaaah!!!"

Sun then proceeded to fall backwards in a  dramatic fashion. Fortunately, at the very last moment, Sun caught himself.

He then pointed at the heavens, wearing the straightest face he could muster, maintaining the pose from when he prevented himself from falling over as he proudly declared. "I have reached Nirvana."

Seeing his overly dramatic buddy in action, Kenny's only reply was. "Shut up, Sun."

As Sun remained unmoving from his pose, Kenny mumbled to himself. "I can't wait to roast that stupid chicken."
