Journey to the west (13)

"What do you see?" Kenway asked, his smile never leaving his face.

Leo peered through the binoculars, his expression darkening as he focused on the horizon.

Through the lens, he could make out a massive nest. It wasn't close, but it was so big that Leo could see it from kilometers away; it was honestly frightening.

Leo knew what this nest housed. Moundfang termites. These creatures had dark brown exoskeletons that helped them blend with the soil.

Each termite was about half a meter tall, moving on six thick, pillar-like legs that were used to hunt and in mound construction.

They also had oversized mandibles that clicked and clattered as they worked, sharp enough to tear through the toughest vegetation and flesh.

Last, they had small, beady eyes and long, sensitive antennae that twitched at the slightest vibration. This helped them do many things, including hunt.

Of course, Leo had to convey this information to his party members.
