"A war, huh…" Raijin echoed what Marcos just said.
"Yeah, specifically speaking, it is called a private war. Have you heard of it?"
"Ah. It is a war but something like, in smaller scale right?."
"That's right, it is for settling the beefs between two regions. You will get the full idea once we get there."
"I see." Raijin tiredly said because he was losing interest on the conversation. Because for him, no matter what they give him, he will be on disadvantageous situations. And all he had to think right now was how to not die as a canon fodder.
After the end of their talk, Gibbs who was silent until now have spoken.
"Boss, where are we going?"
It was evident how he was more respectful when talking to Marcos.
"Adventure's guild," Marcos answered.
"I understand, make sense," he said and closed his eyes.
"…"
It seems that Marcos doesn't want to end the conversation as he again brought a followed up topic.
"Do you have a question why we would go to adventurer guild?" He asked, looking at Raijin.
"…"
The demon didn't answered but after he sensed that Marcos' didn't removed his stare at him, he answered in defeat.
"My rank as a sorcerer, you want to know them, right?"
His answered was on point so that Marco smile like he had an excellent toy.
"Correct!" He clasped his hands.
"Geez, you are really a bright child. From such a early age…"
Marcos' sentence ended with a trail, he didn't stop at the "eyj" sound until Raijin responded.
"Nine."
"Oho! Nine I see," Marcos' nodded exaggeratedly, "at an early age, nine, huh…not only you have that decisive look, and sorcery talent, but you also have that infuriating mind of yours. Such a pity you are a demon though…"
Raijin then saw Marcos' face. And at that time, he was sure, that the man in front of him was indeed felt pity from him. Because of that, Raijin's coolness has dropped and spoke with a little bit of rage.
"Then don't, I don't need that."
Contrary to him, Marcos' façade hadn't change at all and conversed to him like he was the most benevolent person in this world.
"Hehe, you are quite the curt kid huh…"
Marcos still didn't stopped.
"How much powerful do you think you are? Hmm? Maybe in Supreme stage?" Marcos, with a clueless face.
"Surely, you clown." Raijin had enough and closed his eyes.
Amused, the plumped man just laughed it off.
[What a sure fake laugh…] Raijin thought.
Their travel continues for some time and the cart stopped moving. Outside of the door, a man called out to them.
"Mr. Marcos, we're already here."
"Oh, good grief. Now, if you may so…"
His word didn't end this time wasn't because he was playing, but because of the demon.
"Hehe, looks like you are always ready, Mr. Raijin."
Right, because before he could tell him to, Raijin already went outside. What greeted his eyes then, just like the coach said, was none other than the Adventurer's hall. Raijin already seen this many times so he was completely familiar into it. It was a large building with three floors. It was wide, like around thirty meters. He head that the stone for building it was not normal and they were enchanted with and it, but he do not know the purpose. A lot of people were going in and out, and most of them wears armors and brought weapons.
When they entered, it was expected for them to drew attention to Raijin. Different reaction came out after they saw the red eye demon
"Oi why is there a demon here?" "Who here brought a bait?" "This ain't fit for an emergency food you know."
Mocking comments rained upon him which, as always, he ignored. And as expected, all of them are humans. Although there will be some in the city, other races do not often do things such as adventuring on others' turfs. The only place you could see mixture of races was honestly in the Valhalla, a continent that is being counseled by the eleven races. And of course, that country welcome all races and home of the strong guilds, it was like the warriors' final destination.
"Oi, demon, we're talking about you."
A big man arrogantly went and looked down at Raijin. He has a very heavy metal armor and a big broad sword on his back. But without backing out, Raijin stared at him coldly with his crimson eyes. And to let out some steam, the demon provoked the man.
As if talking to an ant, Raijin dropped a word.
"And?"
With just a little bit of salt, the insecure big guy took that personally.
"You…!"
His hand was ready to resort to violence but Marcos stopped him.
"Stop it, you are being disrespectful at my companion."
After hearing his voice, the big man felt scared as he immediately withdrew his released arm. How the guy was acting just showed the influence that Marcos have.
"Mi-mister Marcos? Companion…?"
"Yeah, so if you may."
"Y—yes."
And the man finally back off and went to his companion. Those people laughed at him because he embarrassed himself.
Raijin and the two however, went to the hall, and after Marcos talked to a receptionist, a skinny man on his forties went down on the stairs.
"Well well, look who we have here. Mr. Marcos and… a demon. Quite peculiar, eh?"
Like the adventurers, this second guy also showed respect at Marcos.
"Well, it is nice that you are here, Mr. Antonio."
He greeted him back like a noble.
"So, why what do you come here for?" Antonio asked.
Marcos pointed at Raijin.
"Measure him," he said.
"Him?"
"Yeah, got a problem?"
"Ohh, no no. I don't have. Now, you three come here with me."
Antonio prompted them to go upward the second floor, then, they entered a door at the corner most right of the floor that led up to a an another stair downward. They end up to a room with another two rooms.
"So…"
Antonio who was free to speak, looked and called out Raijin.
"Demon, what do you know about Sorcerers?"
