The Lost Worm

Sup, God of Knowledge here. I'll be taking over for the rest of the arc. Sahasya got a bit… violent with his writing from this point till he's back at the Academy. It's somewhat ugly.

*

"Is that 7?"

"Yeah, that's enough."

After spending the whole sunlight cleaning out villages of Uhndaks, the team continued their walking to find a safe spot for them to nest the night until they are finally able to go back to the exhibit gate in the morn.

The forest was covered in black smoke, from all the burning done by Sahasya's fire. Although no scream left was heard, since they massacre every single Uhndak they found breathing.

"Wait! There's one right there."

Sahasya spotted an Uhndak far from where they stood through his heat vision. The team then moved a little closer to decide on the next step on what they gonna do with that poor monster.

"Is he… crying?" Hazana asked from behind the bushes they were hiding.

"I don't see any tears, but he indeed looks terrified." Hada replied. They were observing the Taanji from afar.

"So what now, My Prince? Should we end him too?" Anna asked, waiting for Sahasya's confirmation.

"I… something telling me we should leave him alone." Sahasya hesitated.

"Oh after all that genocide, you starting to pity them?" Hada calling on his brother hypocrisy.

"No, it's not that. It's just… it doesn't seem that our fire the one who put dread into his heart." Sahasya replied.

"So, Your Highness saying… there are other things in this forest that made him that scared?" Chiya got curious but nervous.

"Well, it's not that hard to guess what other source of fear around here, the Sun is almost gone, and the stronger Taanjis are waking up." Hada made a point.

Everyone then nods in agreement.

"Can we at least end his suffering? He's puffing like crazy." Begged Hazana, she couldn't stand to see it anymore.

"Alright, alright, I'll do it. You guys stay here ok? In case there's an ambush." Replied Sahasya as he stood up from his hiding.

"Understood."

Sahasya quickly pulled out his [Santi] and slowly walked approaching the Uhndak. The little monster just lay there as if his legs were broken, crying tearless, while he grasp for air as if they're non-existent.

"Let's end this bud—" However, as soon as his blade raised above the Uhndak, Sahasya notice there's something hiding on the monster's lap.

It was a knife, [Tumbuk Lada], the Uhndak is a Knife Holder.

The monster realizes Sahasya's presence and quickly glared at him. Those are not the eyes of something that's sane. The fire boy knew that's a sign of bad news and rushingly stabbed his [Santi] through the monster's back.

The Knife Holder scream, as loud as a raging thunder. The knife on his lap then started to glow with an eerie red, and now the whole area went covered in maroon light. A burst of chaos energy began to explode.

*Bang!*

That poor monster's life ended, yet not a single member of the team was left wounded from his final advance.

"What the—" Although, they could feel something smiting their ears. It was from the metallic communication device they're using.

"Bro! We got a problem!" Hada suddenly shouted at Sahasya from the bushes.

"The communication device stopped working!" Falisha added, also shouting.

"Huh!?" Sahasya was left dumbfounded. He can't believe something like that can occur to a device that is only made out of a simple metal, without anything in it.

*!!!*

Suddenly the air grows heavy, tense like a solid rock. Shivers run down their spine, as it suppressed them from breathing properly. This dense atmosphere… they knew what's about to come to them.

"Regroup! We need to leave! Fast!" Sahasya screamed at the top of his lungs, calling his teammates to gather.

Revian and Althea immediately burst out of the ground they were hiding, and the team quickly run toward them. Both dragons transform into their beast form, and everyone came rushing inside Revian's room.

Unfortunately, before they were able to leave, hundreds or even thousands of black circles covered in white mist began to spawn themselves surrounding the two dragons as far as eyes can see.

The Void has arrived, and from each of those holes a black shaded man crawls out. They wore various helmets and weapons. Their fashion alone enough to send fear through those kids' hearts.

"This is bad…" Sahasya's voice almost sounded panicky.

"W—What should we do, Your Highness!? Even Sir Mahanta run away from just 8 of them." Chiya Stuttered. Her condition is worst than Sahasya's, anyone can tell that she's terrified.

"Should we just fight them? Sir Mahanta said their attack could be stopped by holy material. They don't have the chaos purge that prevents Revian's [Absolute Provoke], maybe we have a chance at this…" Hada suggested. Honestly, that's not a bad piece of mindset.

"I could try that, Your Highness." Revian added, speaking through his deep beastly voice.

"See? He even agreed. I mean… what choice do we have? We can't stay here and wait till eternity while cowering behind kokkradrium wall." Hada sounded desperate. He knew how bad the situation was for them right now.

*Shoot!* *Thuck!*

Arrows came flying and strike the wall of Revian's room. The beast immediately closes all of his windows to cover his teammates from all the incoming attacks.

"Alright! We have one chance and one chance only." Sahasya said to all his teammates. And all of them nodded, although covered in cold sweats.

"May the God of War bless our fight."

*Roar!*

Along with the scream of [Absolute Provoke], Revian transforms back into his human form. All the metal he used to make his room, reverb back into his giant draconic shield, [Parisai Naga].

Everyone except Sahasya then rushingly teleported onto the outer side of the battlefield, right behind all the void people. Meanwhile, the Santi Waraney struck his blade fast, cutting anything on its path.

The team began their advance rapidly, and somehow it was a giant success and quickly overwhelmed the void. Revian's taunt is so powerful, none of them can take their gaze away from him, or pay attention to the incoming attack from the rest of the team.

However, there's a lot of things the team didn't realize in their fight. It's caused by nothing but their inexperience and lack of knowledge about fighting the void.

More black circles spawn around them, a portal that reinforcement used to strengthen the void's ambush. Their number just grew bigger and bigger, made out of troops which if I must say, came from a lower-tier amongst the void.

None of the team members knew about this. They didn't know the army they're fighting is made out of expandables. Their confidence slowly rises as they can easily handle it no matter how many of those troops came.

Until two of the portals, strike with fancier shade. Two persons came, and they wore a hood to cover their heads. On their hand was a short spear, yet neither uses it in their fight. These two are classed as Guide, and what they do best…

Is to create portals.

Amidst the business of their battle, neither Hada nor Sahasya realizes they were hunted by the Guides who somehow unprovoked by Revian. Portals spawn right under their feet, and before they could react, it swallowed both of them whole.

"Huh?"

"My Prince?"

"Brother…?"

They're gone. Not a single DPS left on the team. The situation might turn grim for the rest who survived.
