Stepping Down the Sand

The colossal sword titan took its step, slow and powerful. Each time it pounded the ground with its foot, my heart felt like it was being dropped to the floor.

"How are we going to stop that?" That's a damn good question Chiya.

"The Grand City has survived the void advance for years longer than I'm being alive. Surely they have a way to fight that right?" After I said this, I took a glimpse at the Kaoma soldiers posted at the wall next to our tower. There's terror written all over their face, their body even shaking crazy hard.

These guys don't know how to deal with that.

Although when I saw the track of their projectiles, none of the shots made by cannons or muskets were aimed at the titan. These can mean two things, either hitting it can lead to something bad, or they thought it'll be a waste of ammo and deliberately ignore the titan.

Oh wait… there's also another possibility.

"Let's head down, we'll enter the enemy space." I proposed.

"Have you found a way, Your Highness?" Hazana got a bit scared yet curious about my decision.

"To take down that thing?" I pointed at the titan. "Absolutely no clue. But, we can cleave their army hard enough to the extent where they start retreating to their portals."

"Well, I think that's better than just idling and being unproductive." Said Chiya as she was about to snap her fingers to open a portal to go down.

"Wait, Chiya. We'll head down manually. It'll be bad if the enemy suddenly traveled through your portal." I immediately pulled down her hand to stop her.

"How do we get back in then? We can't create a portal or teleport from outside the city to enter. It's forbidden by the law of this world." She got a bit lost with my decision.

"I know, but you need to know, Revian and Althea are full-fledged dragons. They have wings." I reminded her. "To be fair, I'm the only one who doesn't have anything to help me get through this wall."

"Ouh… well, alrighty then~"

Having agreed with our next move the four of us went preparing for our jump. Although it'll be really dangerous for us to be down there without any defensive support from Falisha.

But I'm still a Santi Waraney, we have our way to survive in the frontline.

"Revian! Open up the way! We're jumping in!" I gave my order to our team tank, with the four of us standing on the edge of the tower.

"Understood." As his deep voice echoed in my head, I saw the sand under our tower began to shudder.

The dragon then burst out of the ground while screeching his roar piercing through the air. The attention of every single void person in a 100-meter radius instantly grabbed onto him. We can now head down without being intervened.

"Is it really okay for us to walk through the chaos shield? Won't it harm us?" Hazana questioned with a face full of worries.

"Actually, now that you said it…" Hesitation immediately filled my mind after hearing her words.

Yet all of a sudden, a layer of maroon light began to coat the four of us like plastic wrap. I gazed down to the wall left of us and found one of the knife holders was casting his chaos energy at our body.

"Looks like we got ourselves a blessing." I chirped

"Let's goo!"

Following the cheers Chiya let out, the four of us quickly jumped from the top of the tower. The two Scientists spread their wings to help them land smoother while Anna and I just kept on gassing til we met the sand with both of our feet.

Falling down from such height was never a problem for a Shaper like us.

As I took my first step above the sands, I quickly transformed one of my rings into a musket and aimed it at the nearest void artillery.

Seven circles of flame then spawned around me, hastefully writing spells script on their bodies. And as soon as they were done, the circles began to line up right in front of my gun.

"Charuu Intera!"

The heat from the air quickly got absorbed into my gun's muzzle then my bullet run wild, leaving a trail as it strike through the void artillery. It was such a heavy shot to pull, as my body kept trembling from the difficulty of breathing, caused by the titan's aura.

But that shot finished its purpose and shattered the platform which carried the portal of which the source of that artillery void energy.

But I didn't end there and quickly pulled my musket back into a ring on my left hand. While my right hand transformed another ring into a [Santi], I create a stance with its blade facing its body toward the Sun, absorbing the energy that She radiated.

My [Santi] went blazing with scorching fire, and the energy it possessed pushed out a force that made every fiber wrapping my body wave profusely as if it got blown by a strong wind.

On the other side, Anna has already gracefully played her second act of butterfly dance. Along with her charming, calm, and romantic movement, fragments of fire began expanding their domain and created a dome where every one of her allies got buffed by a power boost blessed her dance.

As my body felt empowered, I'm ready to just release my flame at my enemies, but…

"Wait, Your Highness! I wanna join in too~"

I immediately got held by Chiya's voice, and I proceeded to wait for her to step in. Seeing I'm not finishing my move, she then started chanting her spell.

"A guardian from the dark mist."

"A beholder of all things linked."

"He came uninvited."

"He left undelivered."

The lady took out her spiked whip and whip it hard at where our enemies were at. That whip of her somehow got extended to hundreds of meters and at the end of its reach, a bunch of dark purple bubbles came spawning and float around until they got attached to one another.

They then reformed their shape into a human-sized clown doll, with its skin fully clothed by black feathers, and its head covered by a crow mask.

"Surbhri Racaher!"

Chiya then once again whipped her whip, but this time it was smacked violently to the ground. The clown doll pulled its hand, and I saw a purple thread attached to all parts of that hand, along with the neck of every void person around the radius of the doll to Chiya.

"Now, Your Highness!"

As I heard the cue from the lady, I viciously swung my sword, instinctively aiming directly at the clown doll

"Gensen Dokoyak!"

Like a phoenix spreading its wings, a wave of sun's flame gloriously flew through the battlefield, engulfing everything on its path.

But as I looked around, the fire spread across the purple thread, burning all the ones linked as even as possible. Hundreds maybe even thousands of those armies of the void found themselves turning to crisp.

"Praise the Sun…" I'm amazed. That shit Chiya's cast is insanely overpowered.
