Chapter 11: Metamorphosis

Angel's POV:

"Angel!!!" Meghan called. "Coming!!!" I yelled out. We were meant to be with Marcus for the day because we promised him we'd help him set a date with Keisha. "Angel!!!" Meghan warned. I rolled my eyes. She's been using her powers against me. "Girl I said I'm coming!!!" I yelled. I quickly grabbed my bag and ran out the door. "Alright I'm here!!! Let's go!!" I said. We both ran out the door and to my car. Meghan drove to Marcus's house. We had the whole day planned for him and Keisha. Keisha is gonna be so surprised. We pulled up to Marcus's house and saw him pacing back and forth. He looked up at us. "There you guys are!!" He said, running towards us. We got out and ran up to him. "Sorry. Angel was taking forever." Meghan said. "Sorry. I had to make sure I had everything." I said.

The three of us ran inside Marcus's house. "Hey Mama." Meghan said. Marcus's mom looked at her and smiled. "Hey baby." She said, as she hugged her. "Hey Mama." I said. She hugged me too. "Hey baby. So y'all got everything prepared?" She asked. "Almost. Angel, Where's Keisha?" Marcus asked. "She's out with Lucky, whose keeping her busy." I said. He smiled. "Good." He paused. "Cologne." He said, suddenly then he ran upstairs. "Whoo. That boy is something else when it comes to Keisha." Mama said. Me and Meghan laughed. "He's been pretty happy since he and Keisha got together." Meghan said. I smiled. "Hopefully Angel and Lucky will be like that one day." Mama said.

"What? No ma'am. Lucky and I are just friends." I said. She gave me a look. "Angel, now everyone and they mama can see you love that boy." She said. I looked down. "She does." Meghan said. I looked at her. "Okay maybe I have a little crush on him." I said, smiling. But I could never tell Lucky that. Ever since that night we went flying, he out of nowhere picks me up and flew away. I called his name like a hundred times before he came to his senses. I think magical beings being sick causes them to hallucinate a lot more than humans. He's feeling better now but I hope he doesn't get sick again. Especially not around me. I heard my phone ping so I reached for it. I looked at the text. It was from the Magic Council. They said they had a surprise for me.

They always do. I put my phone away and looked up to see everyone staring at me. "What?" I asked. "Angel, you okay? You look a little pale." Mama said. "I'm fine. The Magic Council just texted me, saying they have a surprise for me." I said. Meghan scoffed. "They always do. Their full of surprises." She said. "I know right?" I said. Marcus opened the door and led us out to the car. He drove us to the mall, where Lucky is keeping Keisha hostage til we get there. We ran around trying to find them. Luckily, we did find them at the nail salon. Keisha was getting her nails down and Lucky looked miserable. I laughed and he looked at me and glared. "Bout damn time." He said, as he made his way over to us. "Sorry bro. Had to make everything was prepared." Marcus said.

"Next time, let's try to hurry up huh?" Lucky said. "Sorry Lucky." I said, laughing. He glared at me. "It was so boring. I don't understand how you girls can shop and get hair and nails done. It's pointless." He said. "Boy shut up." Meghan said, as she walked over to Keisha was watching TV. I followed behind her when Lucky grabbed my waist. I pulled away. "Don't worry. I'm not gon kidnap you again." He said. I narrowed my eyes. "I just wanna talk Angel." He said. We walked away to the fountain. "What's up?" I asked. "I wanna make up for...ya know, what happened that night." He said. "Okay." I said, cautiously. He chuckled. "How bout me do something later?" He asked. "You mean after this?" I asked. He nodded.

"I can't. The Magic Council want me for something." I said. "Oh. Well we can do something some other time." He said. Despite his smile, I could tell he was upset. "Lucky, how willing are you to make up for what you did?" I asked. "Very." He said, grabbing my wrists. It felt good. His warm hands on mine. I smiled. "Well tomorrow we can do something." I said. He grinned. "Good. I'll have a whole day planned out for us. I'm sorry about that night." He said. I chuckled. "It's cool love." I said. He smiled at me. My heart raced at his smile. It was so warming. "Hey Romeo and Juliet?" Keisha called. I rolled my eyes at her. "We're coming Keisha damn." Lucky said. We all ran off back towards the parking lot and to our cars. I felt my phone vibrate. I looked at it. It was the Magic Council again.

They told me to meet them at Light Lake. I sighed. "Look y'all, I'll meet y'all later. The Magic Council want me for something right now." I said. "For what?" Lucky asked. I shrugged. "You know they ass always secretive." Keisha said. We all laughed. I watched as they all got into Lucky's car and drove off. I drove off, heading to Light Lake. I pulled up and saw a car out there. I seen the Magic Council in the distance. The hell they got me out here for? I got out and walked up to them. "Ah Angel." Stan said. Alma and Bryan looked at me. I smiled. They didn't. Stan was the friendliest, Bryan was the serious one, and Alma was in between. "Hi. Now what did y'all want me out here for?" I asked, curiously. "Follow us." Bryan said, in a deep voice.

I followed them inside the cave, behind heh waterfall. It was the same cave me and Lucky went in. I looked up at the roof of the cave. The luminous roof made me feel at home. "Ya Angel, we know how much this place means to you." Stan said. I nodded. "I alway feel like I can call this place home. If I were run away, this is where I would go." I said. "Well let's hope you don't run away." Alma said. I nodded. "Anyways, we found something about twenty years back." Bryan said. "Like what?" I asked, curiously. "An Orb. The Galaxy Orb." He said. "Oh that's fantastic. That's....I don't know what that is." I said, honestly. They all chuckled. "The Galaxy Orb is an Orb that possesses every magical being and their powers inside." Alma said. "Ohhhhh. Well that's wonderful." I said, smiling.

"Yes it is. You see, we've been waiting for years to find someone special to give the Orb to." Bryan said. "Oh. So whose the lucky one?" I asked, curiously. They all turned to me. "You." Alma said. "Me? Why me?" I asked. "Angel you showed us your worthy of having powers and becoming a magical being. Your nice, your kind, you don't step on any toes, and most important of all, you've keep our secret all these years. For instance, that day at the public pool, when Kacey's friend got wet and grew a tail in public. You saved her by distracting everyone. You saved Kacey when she lost control of her powers. You took control and said it was a magic trick." Stan said. I nodded. "But I'm not worthy of these powers." I said. "Angel you are the one. So you are more than worthy of these powers." Bryan said.

We came to a abyss in the cave. They all looked up to the darkness of the cave. But their was a patch of darkness that stood out. It was darker than the area around it. Bryan used his powers to bring down an Orb. It hovered over his hand. "Wa-wait. If this Orb contains every power in existence and makes the host incredibly powerful, then how come you guys didn't absorb it yourselves?" I asked, curiously. They stared at me before laughing. "What's so funny?" I asked, sadly. "Angel, we're the Magic Council. We're already powerful. Too much power can drive a person mad with power and no one likes anyone who power trips." Bryan said. He then proceeded to hand the Orb over to me.

"Wa-wait. I don't know. What if I can't control myself?" I asked. "We'll help you control your powers." Stan said. "What if I'm not the one who deserves these powers?" I asked. "But you do." Bryan said. "Wait. What if I'm not actually worth of these powers?" I asked. "Angel your worthy." Alma said. "What if-" I was cut off by Stan using his powers to close my mouth. Bryan then placed the Orb in my hands. It dissolved into them. It liquidated in my hands. Then it began to go inside my chest, as if something was sucking it up. I felt really light headed and dizzy. I stumbled backwards but Alma caught me. "Whoa now Angel. I know it'll take some time to kick in, but consider yourself a magical being." She said.

I couldn't feel my legs so Bryan had to carry me back to my car. "I'll take her home guys. Let her rest up." Alma said. Bryan laid me down in the backseat. Then I fell asleep. "Angel." Called a voice. Lucky? "Angel baby." He said. I looked around for him. "Angel." He said. "Lucky?" I called out. I heard him laugh. "Come find me Angel." He said. I smiled. "But where are you?" I asked. There was silence. "Can't tell you where I am cause that would be no fun." He said. I smirked and tried to look around. "I wonder where Lucky is." I said. I looked behind a bookcase but he wasn't there. I heard him cackle. "I'm gonna you Lucky!!!" I yelled out. It only made him cackle harder. I smirked and ran off towards the stairs. I found him sitting behind it. "Oh shit!!!" He exclaimed before taking off running.

I chased him around the house before catching him near the pool. He laughed. "Okay you caught me. Now it's my turn to catch you." He said. His eyes turned yellow. I smirked. "You don't scare me Daddy." I said. He tilted his head. "You wanna bet?" He said. I giggle and took off running towards the house. I heard him count. I ran but stopped. He probably can hear my footsteps. I quickly walked to a room and hid. I heard him enter the house. "Angel." He called. I grinned. I heard doors being opened and footsteps coming closer. I smiled harder. I heard him outside the door. I quickly hid underneath the bed. I covered my mouth as he entered the room.

He walked around towards the closet. That was where I just was. I wanted to laugh so badly but I bit my lip hard to keep from laughing out loud. He then jumped on the bed. I held my breath. Before I heard the door slam shut. It scared me. Lucky then grabbed my ankles and pulled me out from underneath the bed. I screamed in panic. He pulled me up towards him, smirking at me. I was giggling like crazy. My heart raced in my chest. "Oh my God hide and seek is so scary." I said. He laughed with me. "It is." He said. He bent down to kiss me. He picked me up and set me on the bed, without breaking our kiss. His lips moved to my neck. I moaned to his touch. "God Angel you smell so good." He said.

"Can you see if I taste as good as I smell?" I asked, in a baby voice. He looked me dead in my eyes and smirked. "Most definitely." He said, before tearing off my shorts. "Angel." He said. I bit my lip. "Angel." He said, louder. I furrowed my brows. "Angel." His voice changed. Alma? "Angel, wake up." She said. I opened my eyes to see I was in my room. "Huh? What happened?" I asked. I sat up but got dizzy again. "Whoa whoa. Relax. The Galaxy Orb is now fully absorbed in your DNA. You gotta relax for awhile." She said, hanging me a coffee mug. "Oh I don't drink coffee." I said. "I know. It's hot chocolate." She said. I drunk it. It was warm. "What time is it?" I asked. "10:20." Alma said, looking at her phone. "What?!" I cried, sitting up.

It was a mistake because I got lightheaded again. "Angel, relax." She said. "You mean I missed the whole day? I was supposed to go meet with Keisha earlier." I said. "For what?" She asked. "For their big date today. Keisha was gonna need a change of clothes for her to go partying with." I said. She stared at me. "Huh. That's probably why she can home pissed." She said. I groaned. "She's gonna kill me." I said. "No she won't. Aaliyah came home and got her some change of clothes. But she was still pissed." She said. She shook her head. "Oh another thing. It's no longer yesterday. You were out all night and day yesterday." She said. My jaw dropped. "Are you serious? It was around 2:00 when I went to go see you." I said. She stared at me.

I groaned louder. I tried to stand up but Alma pushed me back down. "Alma, I got to go to school." I said. "No you don't. You need to learn to control your powers before going back to school." She said. "What? No. No Alma I never miss a day of school." I said. "I know. I remember when you were in third grade and you broke your wrist and still want to school. It was the hand you write with." She said. "Yes. I don't miss school for anything." I said. "Don't worry. Meghan casted a spell that allows a copy of you to go to school that's in your place." She said. I stared at me. "Alma!!!" I whined. "None of that. Go shower so we can get started to your powers." She said, as she stood up.

"Hey Alma." I said. She looked at me. "What exactly happened to me yesterday?" I asked. "Metamorphosis." She said, before closing the door. I smiled and shook my head. I stood up and got only a little bit lightheaded. I walked to the bathroom and turned on the shower. I let the water rush over me. My legs then went numb and I fell. I looked behind me to see a tail. THE FUCK IS THIS?! It's your tail. WHO THE FUCK SAID THAT!? Me. Whose me? Your conscience. Wha- Angel your a magical being now. Magical beings can hear their consciences. Humans can't communicate with them cause they haven't evolved to the point to where they have powers. This is so freaky. Your telling me. So what's my name?

Your name? Yeah. Us consciences have names. You guys have to name us. Uh okay. How bout...Lisa? Love it. Okay Lisa....what am I? What do you mean? Like I know I'm a magical being now. But what am I? The Magic Council will tell you. Right now, just take a bath and we'll go see about our powers. O-Okay. I crawled my way to the bathtub. My tail weighed a ton. I ran the water and added soap. As I soaked in the water, I stared at it. It was so freaky.

Oh my Jesus Christ this is freaky. Oh baby your just getting started. After about ten minutes, I hopped out the tub and laid on the ground. How do I get rid of it? Dry off. I looked around for a towel and rubbed it all over my tail. Soon it disappeared and was replaced with my naked body. "Okay this is too freaky." I said. "Angel? Who you talking to?" Stan asked. Before you answer, please keep in mind other people can't hear me but you can. Plus, it's not a good idea to be talking out loud. People will think your crazy. "Uh, n-no one Stan. I'll be right out." I said. "Well hurry up. We have A LOT to go over about you." He said. I heard his footsteps leave all the way down to the living room. So...my hearing is better. My eyesight is better.

That is correct. Oh my God. I don't know about this. Just go with the flow. I headed back to my room. I began to put on some clothes and head downstairs. I seen the Magic Council all sitting in the living room, watching TV and drinking beer. They all looked at me. "Ah. There she is." Stan said, as he put a beer can down. "Wow. The Magic Council drinking?" I said, sarcastically. They frowned at me. "Angel, we may be all high and mighty, but we also like to be human too." Alma said. "So. You ready to begin?" Bryan asked. I nodded. "I have lots of questions." I said. "And they will get answered. Off we go." He said. They took me to the room Trey and Keisha showed me. The Power Room they called it. I looked around and got nervous.

"It was so much easier to be in here back when Trey and Keisha were showing me this room." I said. Bryan chuckled. "Everyone feels that way when someone is showing them this room without us in it." He said. "Now Alma, what do you wanna start with?" Stan asked. "Let's start with her powers. She need to learn them before transforming." Alma said. "Wait I have questions." I said, softly. "They will get answered Angel. But you need to learn your powers first." Bryan said. His deep voice made him a little scary. I sighed and sat down as they got some machines up and running. Well here goes nothing love.
