Give Me A Break

Vic and Meghan are childhood best friends. Both vowed to take care of each other when they were still young. Soon… both of them grew up, sharing happiness and sadness together. As Meghan grew up as a pampered child, she always gets everything she wants. But for Vic, he grew up in a hard way as everything must be done by himself so he became matured and independence. Meghan moved into Vic’s house when she had a fight with her housemates for one silly reason, she wanted to go to Paris with them but they gave her lots of excuse not to go along. She felt hurt and went straight to someone whom she knew won’t make her in pain, Vic. Even though Vic told her for millions times not to act so childish but she stubbornly refused to move back. As her best friend, he just shrugged it off, maybe already knew her since young and let her taking the empty room in his place. Like a happy little girl, she agreed to follow few rules made by him. One, don’t make the place in mess. (Meghan always throws her belonging everywhere but because of this rule, she has to collect back all the things as Vic refuses to pick them up or he will pick them up but straight away throws them into the dust bin.) Second, don’t bring anyone to the house especially boyfriend. (Vic doesn’t like anyone especially man to come into his house without his permission as the house looks more like a crazy one with Meghan loves to put the flowers and things she receive all around the living room and other rooms, even making Vic’s things ‘disappear’ under her things.) Third, don’t bring any reporter to the house and no photo shooting in any part of the house. (Vic hates reporters very much.) Fourth, if she wants to go somewhere for few days, tell him first so he won’t need to cook for two. (Meghan can cook but she just pushes the responsibility to Vic, too lazy) Fifth, never tell anybody where she lives or with whom she lives with. (Vic expects Meghan to respect his privacy as he does to her.)

That always works

Vic sighed, putting his shoes into the shoe cabinet before throwing himself onto the couch. Meghan giggled, stroking his hair gently.

"Just finish your work?" she asked.

"Hmm…" was all his reply.

"Tired?" she asked again. He pulled the tie off him.

"Hmm…" he answered.

"How was the meeting?" she asked, taking the tie from him.

"They gave me a weird look when I arrived…" he mumbled, reaching the fruit from the table, rubbing the apple to his sweaty shirt before taking a bite.

"Eww… give me that one. I'll wash it for you," she wanted to grab the apple but he didn't want to move from her comfort laps.

"I'm tired…" he moaned tiredly. She chuckled, taking one grape and plopped into his mouth.

"I know…" She fed him the grape one by one while he struggled not to fall asleep.

"Just sleep. I won't move," she whispered, noticing his sleepy face. Slowly he closed his eyes with his head on her laps. She smiled, caressing his hair as to make his sleeping better while continuing watching the television.

..........................................

Night finally arrived. Vic walked out from his room, only in his red shorts and white shirt, rubbing his wet hair with a towel. It's time for him to prepare the dinner. Meghan was still in her room, napping.

He was beating the eggs when she approached him, hugging her favourite teddy bear, yawning.

"What's the food for tonight?" she asked sleepily, landing her head on the table before dozing again. Vic chuckled, just continuing cooking.

"Meghan, wake up," he said, shaking her shoulder a bit. She stirred a bit before nodding sleepily.

"I'm awake… I'm awake…" she mumbled, adjusting her head so that she can sleep comfortably. He chuckled, pulling the teddy bear from her hands. She automatically lifted her face up, looking at him, pulling a long face. He laughed, giving back her teddy bear. That always works.

"Go wash your face, so ugly with the saliva dripping from your mouth," he ordered. She pouted, hugging the teddy bear closely, walking to the bathroom. He chuckled, shaking his head. Even until now, she is still the little girl he knew, the little girl who always running to him after he saved her from the bullies when he first met her.
