The atmosphere around them was thick with tension that seemed to make the very air vibrate. Roshi, now transformed into the formidable Four-Tails, stood towering before Gilgamesh, his immense form casting a long, dark shadow over the forest. The beast's red fur bristled with raw energy, and his green skin, tough as steel, glistened under the dim light filtering through the bowed trees. His body, a fusion of a burly gorilla with a spiked tail, exuded a primal fury, with blunt fangs protruding menacingly from his wide mouth and two jagged horns jutting out from his head, forming a crown-like silhouette.
The trees that had withstood the earlier clashes between Gilgamesh and Roshi were now bowing even further, their branches creaking ominously under the pressure of the Four-Tails' presence. The very earth beneath Gilgamesh's feet trembled as if the ground itself feared the monstrous power that Roshi now wielded.
"I NEVER THOUGHT SOMEONE LIKE YOU WOULD FORCE ME TO TRANSFORM INTO THE FOUR TAILS! I GUESS THE OLD MAN WAS RIGHT," Roshi's voice boomed, echoing through the forest with the force of a thunderclap. His words were laced with a mixture of respect and rage, acknowledging Gilgamesh's strength while simultaneously declaring his intent to obliterate him.
As Roshi's voice reverberated through the forest, Gilgamesh remained motionless, his golden hair gently swaying in the wind that had picked up around them. His eyes, sharp and calculating, never left the Four-Tails, studying every detail, every movement. The blade that had been in his hand floated away, as if in anticipation of the battle that was about to reach its climax.
"I WILL RESPECT YOU FOR FORCING MY HAND LIKE THIS, GILGAMESH. NOW DIE! TAILED BEAST BOMB!" Roshi bellowed, his massive jaws opening wide as negative and positive chakra began to gather at his mouth. The energy was immense, a swirling maelstrom of destructive power that crackled and hissed as it took shape, forming a bright red ball of molten lava.
Gilgamesh's eyes widened slightly, not in fear, but in fascination. He let go of his blade entirely as it hovered beside him, bringing his hands together as he studied the forming Tailed Beast Bomb.
'There is more positive than negative energy… is that…' Gilgamesh thought, a spark of excitement lighting up his face. His mind worked at lightning speed, his innate ability to understand the nature of all things allowing him to grasp the concept behind the bomb, pushing his comprehension of the tailed beast's ultimate weapon to new heights.
"Die!" Roshi roared, his voice thick with finality as he unleashed the Tailed Beast Bomb. The red ball, now a blazing sphere of destruction, hurtled toward Gilgamesh, leaving a trail of scorched earth and obliterated trees in its wake.
Roshi's teammates had long since retreated, knowing full well the devastation that would follow Roshi's transformation. Yet, one remained, driven by a different kind of madness. Deidara, a young and fervent cadet of the Explosion Corps, fought desperately against his own survival instincts, unable to tear his eyes away from the spectacle unfolding before him. The allure of Gilgamesh's art, the explosions, the sheer power—he wanted to see more, to witness every second of this destructive dance.
The red ball of doom closed in on Gilgamesh, and for a brief moment, Roshi felt a pang of regret.
'It's a shame,' he thought.
'I would have liked to savour this fight a little longer.' But the regret was fleeting, as the ball drew nearer, and the inevitability of Gilgamesh's demise seemed assured.
But Gilgamesh did not move to flee, nor did he raise his blade. Instead, he brought his hands together, the air around him growing still. His instincts screamed at him to defend, to don his armour, but he ignored them. He was too engrossed in the challenge, too enthralled by the opportunity to test his new understanding.
For him in order to grow and gain more memories and more of his former powers he needed THIS! In this new life, HE LIVED FOR MOMENTS LIKE THIS!
"IT'S NO USE," Roshi sneered, watching Gilgamesh's seemingly futile effort. But a flicker of doubt crossed his mind as he saw Gilgamesh's intense concentration, the way his eyes gleamed with something beyond mere determination—curiosity, perhaps? A hunger for knowledge? At this stage?
"AAARRRRGGGGHHH!" Gilgamesh cried out, his voice a mixture of pain and exhilaration as he forced his will upon the Tailed Beast Bomb. The red ball, now mere inches from him, began to shake violently, held in place by the force of Gilgamesh's hands.
'WHAT?' Both Son Goku, the Four-Tails, and Roshi were taken aback, their eyes wide with disbelief. Gilgamesh should have been incinerated, reduced to nothing but ash and charred remains, but instead, the red ball was held fast, trembling under his control.
The energy within the ball grew unstable, light escaping in erratic bursts as it threatened to explode prematurely.
"HA! I WAS CONCERNED FOR A MOMENT. YOU REALLY ARE A GENIUS, YOU ALMOST GRASPED THE CONCEPT OF THE TAILED BEAST BOMB, BUT ALL YOU HAVE DONE NOW IS MAKE THINGS WORSE YOU FOOL! HAHA!" Roshi's laughter was hollow, tinged with a growing unease as he watched the scene unfold.
"Noooo!" Gilgamesh cried out, his voice tinged with mock despair as if he was on the brink of failure. The ball of energy shook violently, the unstable chakra within it growing more volatile by the second. The forest around them began to wilt under the oppressive heat, the once lush greenery now blackened and lifeless.
"YOU FOUGHT WELL, GILGAMESH," Roshi said with grim satisfaction, convinced that the end was near, the Tailed Beast Bomb moments away from obliterating his opponent.
"NOOOOooooo… Just kidding!" Gilgamesh's face broke into a wide grin as he absorbed the chakra from the ball, the red energy flowing into his body like a torrent of molten lava.
"WHAT?" Roshi screamed in terror, his confidence shattered in an instant.
Gilgamesh compressed the stolen energy into his left palm, a ball of intense, crackling power that pulsed with a dangerous light. He called his blade back to him with a mere thought, the weapon flying into his right hand as if eager to be used.
Holding the blade aloft, Gilgamesh coated it with the stolen energy by caressing the blade gently with his left hand, the weapon now glowing with an ominous red aura. Roshi's mind raced, filled with dread as the realization dawned on him.
'He wouldn't…'
But Gilgamesh's wicked grin confirmed his worst fears.
"It's nothing personal but allow me. FLYING EXPLODING SLASH!" Gilgamesh's voice was filled with glee, the thrill of battle evident as he unleashed his newly crafted technique. In an instant, he vanished, reappearing behind the towering Four-Tails before Roshi could even blink.
The slash was swift and brutal, cutting through the Four-Tails' red-furred hide with a searing explosion of energy. The impact sent shockwaves rippling through the forest, the sound of the explosion deafening. Trees were uprooted and hurled like twigs, and the earth split asunder under the force of the blast.
Miles away, Mura and the others, riding on the back of his dragon, heard the explosion. The people of the Hidden Grass Village felt the distant rumble, a soft boom that made the ground beneath them shiver.
Kakashi, also miles away with the Mura and the group, felt the distant explosion and cursed under his breath. He knew all too well the destructive power of a Tailed Beast Bomb and feared for Gilgamesh's life.
'There's no way anyone could survive that,' he thought, his mind filled with images of the devastation such a weapon could cause.
"GILGAMESHU!!! TURN AROUND NOW MURA!!" Kakashi shouted, standing up on the dragon's back, his right hand charged with Chidori, the electric energy crackling as he held it in front of his chest. His left hand steadied his right arm, the intensity of his Sharingan visible through his lifted headband.
"Kakashi-san… You shouldn't do that." Mura's voice was calm, almost eerily so, as he stood facing away from Kakashi. Shadows covered his face, concealing his expression, but there was an unshakable resolve in his tone.
"I can still save everyone if we fall from this height. Your choice, Mura," Kakashi said, his voice tight with determination. His Sharingan gleamed, a symbol of his unwavering commitment to his comrades.
"In the ninja world, those who leave their friends for the sake of a mission… are worse than SCUM!" Kakashi's voice carried a fierce intensity, a declaration of his beliefs that made the mercenary leader and Akari flinch. A battle at this altitude would be suicidal, but Kakashi was prepared to risk everything.
The dragon growled in response to Kakashi's challenge, its scales shimmering in the light, but Mura remained silent, his back still turned. The wind howled around them, the tension between the two men thick enough to cut with a blade.
"If you know my master you will know to trust him. You and I both know he isn't normal and deviates from the normal terms when it comes to his strength and thinking. You've known him longer than I have but I have followed him earnestly as his only follower and disciple." Mura began,
"His words may sound funny to others when they hear him speak but he speaks his reality into existence. He is a being I would follow to the ends of the earth and beyond. A mere-tailed beast bomb isn't something I am worried about, I am worried he might just go and never come back. His greatness cannot be contained. I sound like a fanatic but when you see his growth and his ability to change others around him, you will understand." Mura said as he stood up.
"MURA!" The dragon cried out like a little sister to her brother. Rafu-chan knew she wasn't at his back to protect him as she did when she was the dragon embroidery at his back. She could also sense how dangerous the attack was, Kakashi prepared behind Mura and knew Mura's clothes provided sturdy armour made of a myriad of tiny ice crystals that made up his light blue robe but she knew it wasn't as tough as the body she possessed was.
"It's okay, Rafu-chan. If I can't even survive this, I don't deserve to follow the master. But you should leave if that happens, no one deserves to ride on your back after then, promise me that. I'd rather you be a proud and powerful dragon who roams freely…" Mura asked with a smile.
"Mura-Oniisan…" Rafu-chan said as her eyes glowed red.
