Chapter 14 : Goodbyes and Hello's

Outside of the safe house stood Kai and the little girl he had learned to call a sister.

The night before the situation had been explained to Minny and now was the time to say goodbye

Kai knelt down, bringing himself to Minny's eye level, his gaze filled with tenderness but also the heaviness of the moment. He took her small hands in his, his voice filled with sorrow and sincerity. "Minny, you've been a bright light in my life since the day we met. I can't thank you enough for the joy and happiness you've brought into my world. You're like the little sister I never had."

Tears shimmered in Minny's eyes, her voice trembling as she responded, "Kai, you're my hero. Thank you for always being there for me. You're the best big brother anyone could ever have."

Kai smiled through his own tears, cupping Minny's face with gentle hands. "You mean the world to me, you little rascal. I promise you, no matter what happens, I'll always be there for you. you know that right ?"

Minny responded with a small nod, her tears falling freely now

They shared a tight, heartfelt embrace, hugging each other as if it were the last time

Kai gently pulled away, his eyes brimming with tears, looking into Minny's eyes. "I promise to visit you any chance I get"

With a final, lingering hug, Kai whispered, "Goodbye, Minny." Then he slowly stood up

As the vehicle drove off, Kai's heart ached, and he couldn't help but think that it was the best possible decision, for both of them

one of the female agents responsible for his transportation to the academy informed him, "It's time to go."

However Kai had one more favor to ask

The day that he had once believed would never come had finally arrived. A complex mixture of emotions surged within him as he stood before a familiar gravestone. He looked down at the marker with a tender smile, his heart heavy with the memories it held.

With an affectionate smile on his face, Kai addressed the gravestone in a soft-spoken voice. "It's been a while, Miss Agatha."

The engraving on the gravestone read, "Here lies Agatha Mikaelson."

Kai stood before Miss Agatha's grave, taking a deep breath as if preparing for a conversation with his beloved teacher.

"Miss Agatha," he began, "you won't believe the turn the things that's been going on, I've been offered a chance to attend some new school . It's for people like me, The opportunity came as a surprise, and, honestly, I don't know how to feel about it."

The wind seemed to whisper, carrying his words to her, and he continued, "I know you always told me to reach for the stars, to never let my abilities go to waste. But it's not that simple. I thought I could handle anything, but now I'm filled I am not that sure anymore ."

As if seeking guidance, he paused before sharing more. "I don't know if I'll ever be the person you believed I could be, Miss Agatha. I'm scared, but I also don't want to let you down."

A soft breeze rustled the leaves, and he took it as a sign to go on. "The school is a place where they say I can truly hone my abilities, make a difference in the world. It's also a chance for me to learn how to control my Curse, to not be a danger to others."

With a heavy heart, he whispered, "But here's the thing, Miss Agatha. Leaving for this school means I have to say goodbye to Minny. You remember her, right? The little girl from the orphanage . She's become like a sister to me, and I promised I'd always be there for her."

Kai's eyes glistened with unshed tears, and he continued, "I don't know if I can keep that promise now, I'm at  a crossroads, and I wish I could hear your advice."

He stayed there for a while, as if expecting an answer from the wind or the earth beneath him, but it was the peaceful silence of the cemetery that greeted him. With a heavy heart, he whispered his final words, " I miss you, Miss Agatha. Talk to you later okay? "

Kai placed a bouquets of flowers beside the tombstone and walked away, With each step he took away from the grave, he felt more determined than ever to face the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead.

" The school of Gifts and curses huh, Here I come," he declared while clenching his fist as his eyes ignited with a mesmerizing shade of blood red.

A sudden voice pierced the air, "Woah, cool crown."

Kai, momentarily froze, he turned to face the speaker. The only ones capable of seeing the crown were the Gifted or Cursed, indicating that the voice belonged to someone who shared a similar fate.

"what?" Kai responded, intrigued.

His gaze met that of a young boy, around his age, sporting white hair and stylish sunglasses. The air crackled with an unspoken connection as their eyes locked.

"Who the hell are you?" Kai demanded, his crimson eyes on full display.

"Red eyes, so you're on the other side," the boy remarked, seemingly unfazed by the revelation that Kai was cursed.

Curiosity gripped Kai, "Other side?" he questioned, tilting his head inquisitively.

"What does that thing even do?" the boy asked, brushing aside Kai's query with one of his own.

"That's none of your business," Kai retorted, guarding the secret of his crown.

"Ah, Apologies. You see, the thing is..."

lowering his sunglasses to reveal bright blue eyes, the eyes of the Gifted

"With these eyes I tend to see a lot of things. ," he added, a hint of arrogance in his tone.

Kai, who prided himself on his knowledge of the awakened, couldn't help but feel a twinge of unease. The boy's eyes radiated a brilliance no Gifted had ever possessed—they were like the eyes of a god.

"And I can tell there's more to you that meets the eye."

Before Kai could react, Isaiah was already inches away from him as he said those words. Kai instinctively jumped back and assumed a fighting stance, ready to summon Bane at any moment.

"Oh, come on. Do you really want to pick a fight in a cemetery? Besides, right now, I would probably kick your ass."

Before Kai could inquire further, another voice echoed in the distance.

"Isaiah, Where are you?"

"Coming, Mother. I guess this is goodbye then, see you later, Your Majesty," Isaiah remarked, his words a playful nod to the mysterious crown

Just as Isaiah turned around to leave, Kai couldn't resist calling out, "You really have a strange way of talking to people you just met."

"Oh? Strange?  But I just wanted to say hello," Isaiah retorted with a nonchalant smile, leaving Kai with a lingering sense of curiosity

As Isaiah walked away, Kai's eyes followed him, and a single thought echoed in his mind: "Who was that little... Motherfucker."
