Chapter 15

Walking towards their manor with a spring in their steps. On the way, Heng Xīnyán bought a few tea sets from an antique shop. Bàolì Hua patiently waited for her. We know that was a lie.

With a stone-cold face and an aura excluding frost, Bàolì Hua stood at the door of the shop, waiting for Heng Xīnyán. The villagers saw her cold face as well as her aura that kept them miles away. They all made movements to avoid her.

Soon, Heng Xīnyán came outside. Her brows were raised whilst her dark eyes had faint joy. Holding Bàolì Hua's arm affectionately, she stated, "We are rich!" She giggled.

Bàolì Hua's eyes were dim yet she nodded lifelessly. Never in her life, did she have to move so much. All she wanted to do was sleep in her natural form under that pear blossom tree.

Yet, this annoying female named Heng Xīnyán made it very fucking hard! Omg! Can't a lady sleep?! Bàolì Hua's mind wandered. Her legs were weak and her patience was slowly being eaten away by Heng Xīnyán's busy figure that roamed and toured the entire village buying necessities for the manor that they did not need!

"Okay, I got everything, let's go back." Came Heng Xīnyán's soft voice.

Bàolì Hua's eyes were lifeless, she watched the darkening skies. The suns were setting and the moon surfaced in the sky. Candle lights brighten the previously dark road. Under the dim orange light, their Hanfu swayed lightly.

They walked on the road. Heng Xīnyán chewed on a chestnut and under Bàolì Hua's darkening gaze. She shared a few with the female in green.

Bàolì Hua collected them.

They arrived at the manor. The darkness of it was a heavy contrast compared to the brightly lit manors that were its neighbours.

Yet, the females. One in pink and the other in green entered the manor.

They slide the main house door open. Taking a candle from her sleeves, Heng Xīnyán lit it. The orange flame brightened the room.

"I'm heading to my courtyard," Bàolì Hua stated and Heng Xīnyán simply handed her the candle that she lit.

Taking other out of her sleeves. She watched Bàolì Hua's back slowly leave her sight. Lighting the candle in her hands, Heng Xīnyán walked towards the courtyard she admired. It was opposite the main house, located in the southern corner. She wanted to name it, Huanzhu.

She chose the name because of the numerous bamboo trees in the courtyard. Her fingertips traced the stem of the bamboo trees lightly before she walked up the stone steps of her new home.

Her fingers slide the door open. Her eyes were soft, looking at the interior of the house.

She placed so much importance on this manor. It was because she wanted to make her mark in this Realm. She wanted a place she could return to, knowing that she was the founder of this place. Heng Xīnyán wanted to be her owner leader now.

Instead of letting other people control her. Heng Xīnyán smirked, her palms glowed with her red spiritual energy that outshined the orange glow of the candle.

With an abrupt close of her palms, the remainder of Bàolì Hua's spiritual energy that was resting in her dantain was destroyed.

"No one will ever control or use me, again!" She blew out the candle. Her room descended into darkness and a pair of cat-like eyes peered at her with no harmful intent. They flickered in delight silently before their owner disappeared with light steps.

Heng Xīnyán's siren-shaped eyes watched the place in the roof where those cat-like peered at her. Finding nothing, her willow brows furrowed in thought.

Sitting on the bed, she took off her outerwear before lying down. Her eyes looked out the wooden window that showed the full moon.

Her pale hand reached out to the moon. In the Mortal Realm, she previously desired to have a wedding with her beloved. The moon was going to be their only witness but instead of defending her at her lowest. He betrayed her.

Heng Xīnyán's red lips curled into a sneer, "I will get my revenge!"

Her hatred stirred and Heng Xīnyán lowered her pale white hand.

Closing her eyes, she began to mediate because the higher stages in cultivation did not require food nor rest. Yet, Heng Xīnyán took this chance to relax. Her tense brows smoothed out and her lips flattened.

The next day. The twin suns were out to play, brightening up their surroundings in Ghost Cult. Ghost Cult was designed and it mimicked everything of the Mortal Realm except the twin suns.

One bigger than the other. Heng Xīnyán sat up from bed, stretching lightly. She covered her lips to yawn. Her silky black hair flowed down her pale shoulders making a lovely contrast of white and black.

The owner of this site stood. Her red lips curling into a delightful smile, she swirled in the large room, now called her bedroom. The joy of something being hers was exposed by her bright eyes, she entered the washroom.

She came out of the washroom after an hour of pampering herself. Heng Xīnyán stood in front of the mirror. Wearing a pink long tunic, like the colour of dark cherry blossoms. Heng Xīnyán allowed the skirt of the tunic to flow down to her pale feet that were in a pair of cream-coloured floral-designed Manchu shoes.

Heng Xīnyán fixed the square facing of the tunic lightly before she placed less than half of her hair that was in front of her hair in a low bun with a jaded hair clip behind her head. Freed of the hair that was blocking her face, Heng Xīnyán allowed her black silky hair to flow down her back.

Combing her hair with a fine comb, she muttered, "Unbraided hair shows that a maiden is unmarried but this is Ghost Cult. Rules are bound to change as people are greedy."

Her eyes flicked to her face in the mirror. Then she lowered it. Releasing her hair, she flicked her large tunic pink sleeves.

Cuffing her hands, allowing her sleeves to join, she exited her house. Walking down the stairs of her house, she followed the marbled paved road to the main wooden building.

Her small footsteps were joined. Her pink tunic merged with a green tunic. Seeing the smooth-walking female near her, Heng Xīnyán couldn't help but comment lightly.

"I see, mèimei, Bàolì Hua. Has learnt to walk smoothly."

Bàolì Hua laughed, a green floral fan in her hand that flickered to cover her lips when she laughed. She then answered, "I learnt from jiějiě, so my walking must be smooth."

The owner of the cat-like eyes watched the two females in disbelief.

"What good acting," the low voice muttered. However, soon it froze in shock.

"So… how long are you going to spy on us?" Heng Xīnyán questioned.

Random chatter:

Heng Xīnyán: "So... how long are you going to spy on us?"

The owner of the cat-like eyes: "..." What the freak?!
