Enraging The Whole

"What in the h*ll do you think you are doing! You could've killed us all." The group leader screamed at us in anger.

"We're sorry, we got caught in cross-hairs of those beasts and just ran in any direction they weren't." I lied knowing they were already prepared to kill us. If they knew I had intentionally led those beasts here our names would be on the board before we could stand from our seats.

It was at this moment their appearances clicked. They're the people I dominoed while rushing to the gate. I don't know if they realized I'm the one responsible yet or not. Though it didn't matter because no matter what they were upset.

"What are your names?" A smaller man by the leader asked. He wore a military camo shirt with light brown shotts that extended just past the knees. He was armed with a Shortsword. He didn't really look like he belonged in the setting.

Jakob quickly responded with, "I'm Jakob and this one's Ryder," in a nervous tone that showed his fear.

"Hahaha," another of their members laughed at Jakob, "looks like we got a scared little boy. They're my favorite. They show the most emotion in the end!" It was clearly shown on his face that he was not 'okay' in the head.

"Ok ok, let's cleanup here. We got other places to hit today." The leader spoke in boredom. "I'll take the quiet one. Reg, you have ten minutes with the scared one. We'll just throw them into the ants territory when we're done" The leader began to take his weapon as he finished. It was a shiny silver colored greatsword with several blood stains.

It was the moment I realised we had to run. I glanced to Jakob who was looking at ground in fear.

As the leader started taking a step towards me I took a step back. I reached for Jakob as well as I stepped back. The sudden movement sent Jakob into panic, he bolted away. Without hesitation I bolted aswell. The speed Jakob ran at was much faster than earlier. Though his speed was nothing compared to the arrow that was sent into his back. I looked back to see the one female of the group holding a bow. She was loading another arrow to shoot at me.

I saw the arrow leaving the string. The moment it left, it wouldn't take long to reach me. My instincts kicked in and I rolled onto the ground to avoid the arrow. The moment got back up into a running position I saw the arrow infront of me flying at chest level. It would've easily killed me in an instant. The adrenaline coursing through me spiked again. I sped up running towards the canyon. The leader didn't chase expecting the arrow to kill me.

I looked back to see Jakob. He was on the ground with the arrow in his back. He was already dead. Reg was standing over him ready to remove the arrow. He had a sad look on his face. The moment he removed the arrow with a jolt, Jakob screamed. The sad look immediately disappeared and turned into a happy smile. Jakob looked towards me as I ran. The look on his face was clear. He wanted me to kill them.

With the adrenaline I could sense another danger, it was another arrow. I used my hand block and deflect it. The arrow pierced my left hand and continued through all the way. It missed my vitals though I could no longer use my left hand. I continued my run towards to canyon. I made it past the threshold. I could see many holes in the walls. They were the ants.

The arrows stopped coming towards me, likely because they were going to leave it up to the ants to finish me off. I continued to the end. At first there were no ants, though as I got further they started to come. The farther I went the more there were. It did not take long before there was a hundred of them. The few that got close to me were quickly sliced with my dagger. Not that many of them died to it though. Their exoskeleton was to hard. The dogger at most would cut half way through.

I could see the end of the canyon in the distance. My legs were burning and wanted to stop. Though I would not let them.
