Kiss Damon

"Don't go," Nessa held onto Damon's hand. It was hard to get hold of him recently and wouldn't let him go this time around.

"Let go," There was still that arrogant look on his face.

"Please just listen to me,"

"Fine, you have just a minute," He said to her relief.

Nessa took a deep breath, summoning courage from God knows where and then glance up at him with renewed determination, "I'm sorry,"

"Sorry for what?" Damon was smug even though he appeared to be indifferent.

"I'm sorry for poking on your old wound,"

"Really?" he didn't believe her

"The move was low of me,"

"And?" he cocked his brow.

"And I'm sorry. Again," she rolled her eyes to heaven. How could someone be so arrogant?

"Fine,"

Nessa was relieved, "So we're good now,"

"No,"

"What?! Why?" She couldn't believe what she just heard. What was wrong with this boy?

"No one has ever defiled my authority until you came and made me a laughing stock to the whole school. So now, I have to make them believe Damon still has that magic touch," He grinned and God knew how much he looked evil.

Nessa knew she was going to regret this yet she foolishly went into the devil's trap by asking, "What do you want me to do then?"

Damon took a step closer till their body was almost touching and he ordered with his lips kinked to the side,

"Kiss me,"

"Huh?" Nessa blinked twice. What did she just hear, "You say?"

"You heard me right, kiss me," Damon demanded.

This was a game to him, Nessa realized. But if she doesn't do it, she is doomed.

"If I kiss you, our bad blood is over? Clean as snow?" she wanted to be sure. In fact, she needed to record this in case he goes back on his words.

"Yeah, do that and I wave the white flag," Damon said to her with a suspicious glint in his eyes.

Fine, Nessa, just give him the damn kiss. It's just a kiss anyway, not sex. Moreover, it's not like you're in a relationship or something - crushing on Luke doesn't count.

"Fine," She gave in.

Standing on tiptoes, Nessa gulped. This was it. She was going to kiss Damon, that arrogant narcissistic jerk of all jerks. So she squeezed her eyes close, she wouldn't want this scene imprinted deep into her soul and haunt her for the years to come. So with her eyes closed, she drew closer and closer and…..

Bam!

A loud thud resonated through the room as Nessa fell from the bed. She moaned in pain, soothing her painful butt with her hand - she had landed on those and not her head, thankfully. But what the hell was that? Kissing Damon? Worst nightmare ever!

Nessa was still recovering from the confusing yet painful ordeal when her phone rang. With an exasperated groan, she reached for the nightstand and grabbed her phone.

"Hello mother," Nessa picked up, listening to what the woman from the other line had to say. "Sure," she ended the call afterward.

Well, today was Saturday, and her mom could not come home last night because she had to work overtime abruptly and now needed a change of clothes.

Nessa got up to her feet with another ripple of a groan from her lips as she stretched. At least this errand would take her mind off this crazy dream she had. Joke or not, she hoped the universe wouldn't pull that on her again.

Going straight to the bathroom, Nessa observed her morning ritual and dressed up before heading to her mother's room to get her stuff. Before leaving, she waved some orders at Adrian who as usual ignored her, immersed in his phone. Not that she minded, her brother has always been an ass.

Once outside, she flagged down a taxi which drove her straight to the hotel. Pushing past the hotel's revolving door, Nessa silently and sincerely prayed she did not meet Damon by accident - this was their family hotel. Not when she was still startled by that dream from earlier. Gosh, why was this place suddenly hot? She fanned her cheeks. Don't they have an air conditioner or what?

"Sweetheart!" Nessa's attention was grabbed the instant her mother located her.

This was the main kitchen essentially allotted for preparing and cooking food. It was located in the central part of the hotel where the sequence of food receiving, storing, preparing, cooking, serving, and clearing areas are properly defined and managed accordingly. Nessa was only able to enter here because her mom was the executive chef - yeah, her mom was quite a big shot. Why do you think Adrian is such a snob?

Nessa gave her mother a warm smile just as she was engulfed in a tight hug. She couldn't help but sniff her hair secured with a head net yet still smelled of curry.

"How're your brothers?" Her mom asked as soon as she released her. Ugh! Of all people to ask about.

"Rex is good, except Adrian, he's driving me crazy," Nessa replied, earning a chuckle from her. Her mother knows so much Adrain makes her want to lose sanity

"Here, I packed everything you asked for," She handed the bag to her mother Jenny who went through the contents nodding approval to her.

"Thanks, sweetheart, I wonder what I would've done without you," Jenny said hugging her daughter once more before dropping a kiss on Nessa's forehead "Love you"

"Me too" Nessa reciprocated the affection yet cursed the next because mommy dearest said,

"Tell Adrian I'll be back as soon as I can and drop a kiss on his forehead, tell him it's from mommy"

Disgusted, Nessa snorted "Good try but that'll be in my next life" She retorted, only to meet her mother's signature stern look.

But Nessa stood her ground, "There's no way I'm doing that mom. Gosh! That's embarrassing. Adrian would scorn me to death"

"Really Nessa?" Her mom drawled with a sweet sickening tone and she knew what it meant when she said "You really wanna do this, Nessa?"

Defeated, She sighed "Fine, I'll send the kiss" Nessa would have lied but her mother was a scrupulous person and would ask Adrian if she did so.

"That's my girl" Jenny cheered "Bye then" she waved and disappeared into the kitchen as Nessa sighed.

She can't even imagine the look on Adrian's face when she drops him the kiss. No Nessa, you shouldn't think about that now, leave the embarrassment for later.

Done, Nessa stepped into the elevator going down to the lobby which thankfully was empty. She leaned against the cubicle and the elevator doors almost closed when suddenly a hand interfered and it snapped open. Nor did Nessa brace herself for the figure that stood right in front of her.

Damon? Her mind registered and she stiffened. Her prayer was rejected by God Almighty.

Both stood staring at each other for a while before he finally stepped in. No  'Hi' at all, Damon came in, his head raised high in the air with an aristocratic aura, without even sparing her a side glance. So this was the way things were now?

Nessa gulped nervously, his sudden appearance threw her off balance. How was she going to start a conversation with that grim expression on his face? Nessa didn't want to bother him but that "Rachel move" needed an apology. So she fiddled with her hands looking for the best way to start a conversation with him

Well, Nessa, here's your chance, fighting!

She encouraged myself and with that energy turned to face Damon "Hey, I- "

And to her disappointment, Damon simply stuffed his ears with his earbuds, smashing her morale to level zero.

Goodluck getting forgiveness from him

Nessa sighed inwardly knowing getting forgiveness from him was a lost cause. So she gave up, the asshole wouldn't even give her a chance, anyway.

But then something happened.

Nessa shrieked when the elevator shook violently with a thud. What just happened? She looked up, staring at the numbered amber figure, they were on the third floor and it wasn't moving anymore. They were stuck on the third floor. No!

Her legs felt like jelly and soon enough, it gave out as she fell to the ground. Nessa gasped as her breath came in short,

"I'm going to die," Nessa whispered repeatedly, breathing heavily. She was claustrophobic and the fact she was stuck in an elevator for God knows when wasn't helping matters.

Nessa gave up recovering from the panic attack when suddenly strong arms enveloped her, pulling her into a  hug while whispering some comforting words to her.
