Abilities [PART 1]

After breakfast, Dazaree went to the kitchen to assist Nana in cleaning up, only to discover that Fablo had already started washing the dishes. From the back, she looked at his v-shaped torso, which added to his intense aura. She's unsure whether she should continue to go inside and help. Nevertheless, she was intrigued as to what had been bothering him during the breakfast. Perhaps, they could be friends if she could be of any assistance, she thought.

Dazaree suddenly felt Troye's presence beside her who came to put the dirty dishes in the kitchen. "He always does that." He explained and tapped her shoulder before entering and putting the dirty porcelain bowls beside the sink. Dazaree thought, Troye heard her thoughts once again.

As for Troye, he knew Fablo is a neat freak because they've been together for a long time which is why he frequently volunteer to wash the dishes and clean the apartment.

Dazaree heaved a deep sigh and placed the plates on the sink. She tried her best to avoid any eye contact with him. Even though she wants to talk with him, she doesn't know what she'll say. How can a man be so intimidating? She decided to leave the kitchen because she doesn't what she'll say to him due to the awkward feeling.

"Stay," he commanded, interrupting her and causing her to come to a halt, as she was about to leave the kitchen. She gulped several times as her hands began to sweat.

"W-what?" nervously, she asked. "S-should I do the dishes?" She cursed in her mind several times as she couldn't stop quivering whenever she hears him speak.

Fablo required, "You, Troye, and I have to talk."

She gasped when she heard what he said. What could it possibly be? she pondered. Several questions run through her mind as she considers possible explanations.

Could it be that Fablo doesn't want her here? She hoped not.

"There are just important matters that we need to discuss," Troye clarified as he sat on the kitchen stool.

"What is it?" Dazaree inquired and sat at the kitchen stool beside Troye.

"First, you said you got lost in the woods and a group of men wants to kidnap you," Fablo stated as he wiped his hands with a dry cloth.

She nodded, "Yes. They were wearing black suits and they were armed." Troye sat straight and crossed his arms after hearing what she said.

Dazaree tried to recall what happened that night, "Their guns are not common police weapons." She's hoping she could remember something helpful but it was too dark to vaguely remember anything else that could have described them.

"They are the same men." Troye abruptly said.

"What do you mean?" Fablo queried with a frown on his face.

With a serious look on his face, Troye replied. "Last week, the same kind of men attacked me."

"What?!" Fablo exclaimed, causing his deep-toned voice to echo throughout the kitchen, which startled Dazaree. "How come I didn't know about this?" He appears enraged causing her to gulp and gazed at Troye who seemed not bothered as if it's something that always happens.

"I forgot to tell you." Innately, Troye replied.

"You forgot?! I can't believe this." Fablo snapped and shook his head in disbelief.

Troye ignored Fablo and went on. "Their weapons are not the same as regular firearms. It is designed specifically for people like us." His expression became solemn as he recalled the day he met the group of men who had attacked him and continued.

"Anyway, they told me to come with them and of course I refused and they attacked me. Fortunately, someone came to help me." Troye mentioned that piqued Dazaree's interest.

"Could that person be… Kithe?" she asked.

"Yes. The guy who saved you too." Troye replied as she stared at her in the eye.

Her pupils dilated. "So he's been saving people? I knew it! He is a kind guy." She couldn't help but smile as her desire to see him again grew stronger.

"Indeed, he is. But, as a result of what he's doing, his life may now be in jeopardy." Troye stared intently at the tiled floor, as his thoughts became deeper. He fully understands Kithe's situation and he can't ignore the fact that his life is in danger.

Dazaree suddenly remembered what Kithe said that night. "There is something that is bothering me," she said. "Kithe told me that his group was looking for people with special abilities. They were hunting people like me... people like us." Everything sinks into her head now.

She looked at her palm then gazed at Fablo and Troye. "What I did that night was unexplainable. And it is some kind of special ability… Right?"

Troye nodded while Fablo just closed his eyes as he leaned his back on the wall.

"Like yours?" she asked Troye.

He nodded and replied, "Yes." Troye can read minds that no normal person can do.

Dazaree's emotions started to change. Fear started to take her as she began to think about negative thoughts again. The night when she almost killed her aunt. Could it be that they are looking for them because they are dangerous to the people?

"Are we… are we..." She quivered upon remembering the frightened face of her aunt as she chokes her that night. Her aunt looked at her as if she's a monster and she couldn't forget that.

Dazaree couldn't imagine that she'll be able to do that. She fears that it may happen again and if she's unfortunate, she might be able to kill the people she cherishes unknowingly. "I'm indeed a monster," she thought.

"No." Troye disagree and stared at her. "We are not monsters, Dazaree," he said. "We are just like humans. Just special, but still humans." He said and looked at Fablo but he just looked away.

"Just humans? You've gotta be kidding," Fablo thought. He doesn't look at himself that way because he knows what he can do and how destructive he can be. In fact, he can totally agree with her.

"Fablo is like us too?" Dazaree asked.

Troye nodded and said, "Yes. He is one of us."

She's curious about Fablo's ability but she didn't dare ask it. "If we aren't monsters and are just like humans then, why are they hunting us?" Dazaree asked instead.

"That's something we'll find out soon," Troye stated and look down at the tiled floor.
