The shadow & body (Part 2)

{Dennis pov}

You know. This world is more fun than the normal world. Aside from fighting things that can take away our lives. Things aren't as easy as they seem. And today of all days. During the next day, me and my friends were getting ready to head back to the tower and leave Sally behind so that she can do her royal duties as leader.

We were at standby on the ship, waiting for someone to get on board. It was only me, Dj, and Nidializ. The only one missing was Claire. X already sent me text last night that Kiwi stayed in the tower with him, but I feel like something was going on if they stayed at the tower alone for a night.

Inside the ship. I was in the pilot room with Dj and Nidializ, making sure that things are where working.

"Bro's check this out."

Nidializ said. Me and Dj leaned over and saw that Nidializ found a log file that requires a password. I then pulled out my phone and pointed it at a certain angel and it unlocked the log file.

"Care to explain Dennis?"

Dj asked me.

"I connected my phone to the ship, I could have given the command for a password override or all files to be unlocked, but that would take like an hour."

I said. Then Nidializ stated reading the log file out loud.

"Mission log #835: This is captain Maverick speaking. A weird creature destroyed my entire team.... It looked a lot like me, but his eyes where black. No one could tell the difference... Guess that means they never payed attention the color of my eyes. But this creature can copy any person if they get a hold of a piece of our souls or personality. We have no name for it... but if someone is hearing this, eliminate this monster before it can get a hold of a new person... Log out..."

Nidializ finished reading the file, then a screen popped right in front of me in giving me information about Maverick. But over at his picture it was gray scaled out and had the word deceased in full cap covering its face.

"A creature that can copy a person with a piece of a soul or personality... I think I know what we are dealing with. The creature that they captain Maverick's team encountered was a mimic. Mimic's usually bait a person with a voice that that is familiar to their target. Once they get close, the mimic goes for it's chance and takes something from the victim."

I said out loud, then I saw Claire walking into the garden with her sister. They seemed sad. I can tell that something happened. Then an older man with brown hair, light brown tone skin wearing a dark blue business suit that was around his forties came out and was walking out with his right hand ready.

"Everyone out!"

I yelled. Me, Nidializ and Dj got out of the ship and ran towards Claire and Sally. The man was about to hit Claire, but I caught up in time to get Claire out of the way to take the hit for her. I got smacked so hard that I hit the ground too hard. Then Dj came in and tackled the man to the ground.

"Dennis are you okay!?"

Nidializ asked me while she helped me get up.

"Yea... I think my right side of my neck got scrapped..."

I then placed my hand right hand over where I mentioned and found a small amount of blood. Dj still had the man pinned down on the ground, but he was having a hard time to keep him in place until Sally was standing in front of him.

"Father, what do you think you are doing!!"

Sally said. Me, Dj and Nidializ got surprised that the man that was about to hit Claire was their father.

"She doesn't have permission to leave. She is staying, and that's final."

The father said to Sally. He then hit Dj under his chin and got up quickly. He was targeting Claire again. I got up once more and stood in the way to protect Claire. He looked at me straight to the eyes. And I could see that he had blue eyes similar as Claire's.

"If you dare to attack Claire one more time. You will be enemy number one on my list... You got that!?!"

I said while yelling. I was about to pull out my gun if he makes another move.

"Please, father. You need to let her go!!"

Sally said.

"No! She will stay here and take Aster's hand in marriage!!"

The father said. After I heard Aster's name. My mind snapped and my left eye glowed. I have lost control over my body while rage consumed it. I was aiming with my left hand at the father and was readying a spell. Claire was hugging me from behind to stop me from causing harm to their father.

"Dennis... Please stop... You don't have to cause a fight today..."

Claire said to me. She then was crying to get me my attention. I regained control over my body because of Claire's voice. I then lowered my left and my left eye stopped glowing.

"You are just a dog with bark but not bite. Hand over my daughter and never return."

The father said. My left eye glowed again, and I pulled out my book with my right hand. As the book opened. Pages were flying around, forming a dome over us.

"You should be careful with what you say, sir."

I said to the father. Then the book stopped on a certain page. I didn't look at the number of the page, but rather what it was written in it.

"Law of Menace number twenty: A menace must decide on his actions either if it's through rage or anger. If it meets the conditions, the menace holds the last word."

I said to the father, I then pointed at him as a giant shadow was standing behind him. Dj recovered from the hit and saw the shadow. He then called out his weapon without sayings its name.

"Dennis, are these the ns?"

Dj asked me. I then pulled out my gun with my right hand and called out the knife that I got gifted with.

"More or less! This is a mimic, and it's a big one!"

I said to Dj. Then Nidializ called out her weapon got into a countering stance.

"So this is the creatures that we are dealing with? Seems like they can get cut down easy."

Nidializ said. Then the shadow went to the ground and surrounded Nidializ. It was aiming for her own shadow. I needed to act quick. I called out to Dj to execute a quick plan.

"Dj!"

"On it!!"

Dj said. He then punched the ground and raised Nidializ so that her shadow could stay in tack. With Nidializ out of the way from harm. I was about to take my chances with fate. As my left eye glowed. I felt a small amount of electricity flowing throughout my entire body. The ground was shaking while dust and pebbles were floating around me. Then my shadow was standing in front of me.

"Shadow mode!"

I said out loud. Then my shadow covered my body, giving me the ability to turn my body into a shadow. It feels a lot when Heartless was inside my body, but I could use this to my advantage in further fights.

"You want a shadow? Then come and have it!!"

I yelled. It caught the attention of my opponent and it targeted me.

"X speed..."

I ended up boosting my speed to the max. When I took a step, it was as if I was running in the speed of sound. I punched the ground where the shadow was, and it shrank.

"So it can only interact with a person's shadow... I need something to cut it down!!"

I yelled. If I tried to cut it with the knife. They could have taken me out.

"Dennis catch!!"

Nidializ said. I then looked up as she was threw her weapon at me. But the ns stopped the sword from being grabbed.

"Guess I have no other choice... Obliviona!!!"

I called out Obliviona. She appeared in her sword form, but didn't respond to me properly. I then charged at the enemy and sliced the shadow in half. It broke the connection between Claire and Sally's father, bringing him back to his senses. Then the dome was reverted into small pages and directly went back to the book.

"Not even a fight? Or it wanted to inflict emotional damage?"

I asked.

"Dennis, we should report this to X when we make it to the tower. I have a bad feeling about this."

Sally said. Then guards entered the scene and took away the father to check on his condition.

"Then, let's get a move on. If this was the first ns that we encounter, then theirs got to be a lot more coming."

I said. Nidializ jumped off from the high ground and went on to the ship. Sally grabbed Claire's hand and took her into the ship before something else could happen while Dj stayed behind with me during my shadow mode went off.

"I'm going to hunt down Mecha right now. I can sense him getting closer."

Dj said to me.

"Ok then. Do whatever it takes to stop him."

I said to Dj. We then gave each other a fist bump and went our separate ways. Dj stayed behind to deal with Mecha while I got on the ship and departed. I took flight immediately and gained some altitude to avoid the fight. My priority right now is to take everyone else to the tower.
