"What size are you?" she asked.
"Um, it depends. With some things I am medium and for others, I wear large."
"Urgh. Just give me one size so that I can get you some new clothes."
Xavier obviously wanted another change of clothes, but he didn't want to ask and already felt guilty enough, which she could see.
"It's not for you. It's for myself, because I can't deal with your stench any longer," she mocked.
"Just get me medium."
"Alright, I won't be long. There is a thrift store nearby."
"Thanks, but please just buy something plain and preferably a black tracksuit," he requested, after hearing she was planning on shopping at a thrift store.
They had all sorts of second-hand clothing in thrift stores and most he definitely wouldn't want to wear, so he made what he wanted clear in advance.
"Sure, just go and shower and there should be a towel and bathrobe in there after you're done if you finish before I get back."
With that, Xavier headed to the bathroom she had previously pointed out to him and took off all of his clothes that had bloodstains and were also drenched in sweat.
If she hadn't offered, he would have had no choice but to stay in those disgusting clothes.
Feeling even more indebted to her, Xavier appreciated her help even more.
She trusted him enough to leave him in her apartment alone and treated him as if he was family or a close friend that she was very comfortable with.
If it weren't for her, Xavier could only imagine what would have happened to him.
In the worst-case scenario, he could have died, and in the best scenario, he would have been arrested and got into a lot of trouble with the police.
Either way, he was definitely much better off with her help and vowed to repay her when he could, but before he became a capable gangster, repaying anyone would be impossible.
He needed money quickly, and to get money, he needed to form a gang or acquire a business.
As he stood under the cold water of the shower that had initially hurt his wounds, he was deep in thought.
{Mission Issued: Form your own gang.}
{Conditions for completion: Have three members excluding yourself, have a name for your gang, and have a base of operations.}
{Reward for completion will be decided based on the members you recruit, the name of your gang, and your base of operations.}
The system gave him the perfect mission, and he was already thinking about doing all of those things, but with the mission issued, he had clear tasks to focus on.
"With three members other than myself, there will be four of us. We should be able to run a business and start expanding, but I need members I can trust and are capable of," he mumbled to himself.
His mind felt clear and everything seemed to be happening so quickly ever since he awakened the system, but he was happy and wanted to live his life to its fullest.
Despite being in the shower and deep in thought, as soon as Angela opened the door to the apartment and came in, Xavier had heard her clearly.
And somehow, maybe from the sound of her steps or because of his Gangster Instincts, he was sure it was her as she walked over to the bathroom he was in and knocked on the door.
"The clothes are outside and you can grab them when you're done."
"Thanks a lot, I appreciate it."
Finishing up in the shower, Xavier had avoided using any soap or products with all the wounds on his body, since it would sting very much.
The cold shower had jolted his mind and body, helping him to feel awake and energetic, while it would also help with muscle fatigue and recovery, as he got out of the shower and dried himself with the towel provided there.
'This place is just like a fancy hotel,' he thought to himself as he looked in the mirror with a satisfied expression.
He had no wounds on his face, so wouldn't have much to explain to his mother as long as he hid his arms and the rest of the body, which would be easy.
And he also couldn't deny that he was pretty good looking.
He had hair similar to his mother's, very light brown to the point it was almost blonde, and also very curly and thick. He also had blue eyes that were majestic, but he hated them since they reminded him of his father.
With a relatively sharp jawline, stern gaze, and soft facial features to match, it was hard to gauge exactly how old he was.
He looked both 16 and 25 at the same time, but overall, looked great.
And matched with his physique and strong character, he is the ideal man in the eyes of many.
However, always wearing a hood and keeping to himself, Xavier never bothered getting close to many or staying in contact with anyone, and that was how he preferred it.
Or at least that was what he had previously thought.
Now that he had spent some time with Angela, he couldn't deny that he had enjoyed himself and it was nice to have a friend.
