I never thought that killing things would be so fun. Maybe it's because the things I kill don't become cold and bloody corpses, but they disappear and let behind them loot.
Yeah, that should be it.
In fact, I don't feel anywhere sorry for the two people I killed a couple of days ago. I killed human beings and I don't feel anything about it! This is some serial killer shit.
This system of mine is great for survival, but I worry about what would become of me if I keep loosing sense of what's normal. Would I kill innocent people for loot if I needed? Now, I would say no, but that would also have been my same exact answer a couple of days ago if somebody would have asked me if I thought that I would be ever capable of killing random animals in a forest if I could get something out of them.
Well, enough of the philosophy.
Today I woke up more relaxed than the day before. I'm getting used to sleeping on threes. Right when I was thinking of that, a new window popped up before my eyes
<New Skill Acquired: Son of The Forest>
<Son of The Forest (Lv 1): +2% experience gained for 4 hours if you sleep in a forest. +2% regen out of combat if you are in a forest>
Although I have no clue on how did I get it, it's always cool when you gain your first skill.
I proceded getting around doing what I planned the night before: hunting. To do so, I tried to craft a spear. I would have gone with a bow, but it seems too much complicated to make and plus I don't think that I would be able to use it correctly. A spear seems much more easy to use.
When I finally found a stick that could be turned into a spear, I received another surprise from the system.
<New Skill Acquired: Crafting>
A short list of wooden items appeared before my eyes: weapons, armors even shelters and other crafting stations.
I selected the spear and a new interface appeared, with two void cases: one had the image of a stick on its background, and the next one had the image of a sharp stone.
I played enough survival games to understand what the system was asking me. I tried to store the stick in the first box, like if it was my inventory and obviously it worked. I then spent the rest of the morning trying to find a sharp stone that could be used as the tip of the spear.
When I finally did, a weapon appeared in my inventory.
<Crafting Reached Level 2>
<New Item Added to Inventory>
<+20 Experience>
After checking out my new experience bar, I went to the inventory and checked out the spear: it did not look like it was made by the material I put inside the system and also had some cord binding the sharp stone with the stick, something that I did not provide the system. There was apparently no logic on the functioning of this crafting system. But who cares, I had what I wanted and was ready to go hunting for food and experience.
My first victim? A bunny. I always hated bunnies. People find them cute, but I knew the truth: bunnies was disgusting beings that loved to bite young boy's fingers. And yes, I got bitten by one when I was a child. So what?
The bunny dropped a pelt and an already skinned piece of meat. A leg. Where did the other parts of the animal go? Who knows. But the most important thing was that I got exp!
<Bunny Killed: +20 Experience>
I put everything in my inventory and kept looking for another bunny, I even ignored a dear walking by. However, in the end, I didn't manage to find another one. Sadly.
I had to compromise with a large bird that looked like a turkey. Horrendous creature. Red eyes and evil gaze, like if it was a demon spawned directly from hell. I thought that something that ugly could exist.
It only dropped a couple of feathers. It didn't even drop some meat! What a scam!
<??? Killed: +30 Experience>
<Level Up!>
<Level 1>
<Experience: 10/105>
I put all the points I received on intelligence, before moving again to climb a tree. Tomorrow I will definitely manage to rise to level 2 and learn those skill books.
