Howling, screeching, growling, and roars sounded out of the forest. It was a few at the start, and then thousands began to sound out.

"Guard Captain, tell your men to open the gates," Ken ordered, making Hector confused but he followed nonetheless.

"Open the gates!!" Hector barked an order, making the adventurers and the players below look at the guards that held the gate closed.

The guards at the very front, who held the gates closed, hesitated but did as they were ordered. The moment the gates were opened, some over-excited players who had no idea about the horror beast outside rushed out the gates. Other players, seeing this, pushed forward, making the adventurers and guards move out in fear of being stomped to the ground.

But all froze, seeing the horror beast that stood like a titan on the hill.

The adventurers, guards, and players inside the wall could see the horror beast. When they got out of the city and saw it, their blood ran cold. Some adventurers collapsed to the ground and recognized that it was a beast and not a monster.

The guards trembled in fear as the information of it being a beast and not a monster began to circulate, while the players were baffled and too excited to care.

"Order the guard to get into formation, tell the adventurers to act as the front support, and as for the players... leave them be, they are more useful when they are wild," Ken ordered, his demeanor changing to a professional and more authoritative one.

Hector felt Ken change and viewed Ken differently now. Hector felt that Ken was more experienced in warfare and commanding. 'Such confidence and sharpness... only those who have faced death countless times have this kind of presence...' Hector admired Ken now; he felt like a junior.

Hector snapped out of it, quickly jumped down the 30-meter-tall wall, and commanded the guards and adventurers, leaving the players to do what they wanted.

An in-game system notification appeared to inform all the players. Even Ken got one, even though he couldn't be considered a player anymore after the merge, but he still held the title of 'The Strongest Player.' Until the day he chose to leave the game, the system would consider Ken a player.

Ken scanned the notification and smiled.

GrimDark the newly evolved Horror Beast is adapting to its evolution but there is a problem! It has stagnated and can't go further, so it is desperate. Fortunately for it, there is a mana crystal in the city that contains enough mana for GrimDark to fully adapt to its evolution. 

So send a monster tide to weaken the city to make it easier for GrimDark to take the mana crystal.

"So the game finally began... I wonder what pieces you move, Thraxis," Ken pondered as he aimed his revolver at the forest.

The forest was trembling with howls and roars from the thousands of monsters that were present. And then it began: the monster tide started.

The first monster to step out of the forest was a kobold, followed by a pack of them, and then goblins, wolves, panther-like monsters, giant boars, humongous snake-like monsters, and many more... too many to count. The monsters came in the thousands, and the numbers kept increasing.

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

Ken shot all his rounds in one go.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

And six consecutive explosions rang, each explosion more than 10 meters in diameter, all in the very front of the monster tide.

Ken, in a smooth motion almost like he had done it hundreds of times, reloaded the revolver, this time with 3 orange and 3 white bullets, which were fire bullets and ice bullets respectively. He shot them all again.

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

From the moment the last bullet left the gun, Ken began to reload, passed the revolver into his left hand, and rolled his right shoulder that had endured the recoil, which was really no joke.

The three fire and ice bullets landed, the fire bursting out and engulfing the monsters around while the ice either froze the monsters or just made the ground freeze, making it very slippery.

All attention was drawn to Ken, who was reloading the revolver. Some players recognized him and exclaimed, "Isn't he the guy that is called The Strongest Player!?"

"Yeah, it's him! That guy on the front page of the forum!"

"He is the one!? Damn, he also has a gun! I want a gun too!"

Many exclamations of surprise, shock, envy, and more sounded.

Ken looked at them, annoyed, "SHUT IT!!! FOCUS AHEAD!!! ALL THE MONSTERS WILL REACH THE CITY IN A MATTER OF MINUTES!!!" Ken yelled, making the ruckus die down immediately.

Ken shot a full round again, this time all of them were ice bullets.

A full round of fire bullets.

Ken passed the revolver to his right hand and let his left be limp. His left hand was hurt from the recoil of the revolver. Ken's right hand glowed a light blue as he used his skill enhancement and fired a round of explosives this time.

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The successive sounds of firing and explosions rang out, creating a rhythm.

A white hue covered the revolver, signaling Ken was using his skill Mana infusion, and the hue kept getting brighter, making the surroundings around Ken light up a bit.

Ken quickly and smoothly reloaded the revolver, this time with green bullets, which were poison bullets, and fired.

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

He fired, and the moment the bullets landed, they exploded into a green mist that spread like wildfire. It didn't have a visible effect, but the monsters that passed through the mist began to slow down.

Ken reloaded to fire another full round but paused and looked at the Horror beast, GrimDark. It had moved. Ken had been keeping tabs on it from the corner of his eye from the very start, making sure he was aware of its every move.

Ken replaced the bullets with blue bullets, which were piercing bullets, and aimed them at GrimDark.

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

He fired, and the bullets shot straight toward the Horror beast.

And... nothing. It did absolutely nothing.

The Horror beast bent down, pulled out a massive boulder out of the ground, and hurled it at the city.

The boulder soared high and rocketed down. Ken frowned seeing this. From Ken's perspective, the boulder was heading right to him, and he wasn't wrong; it was descending right down to him.

"Well, fuck..." Ken pulled out his sword, and his whole body glowed in white with his sword that had a blue tint. The glow became engulfing, and Ken took his stance.

The boulder barreled down, completely dwarfing him. Ken's muscles bulged, and he swung down, his magic making a sword slash that cut the boulder mid-air. The boulder was split in half, and it headed to the right and left of Ken, crushing the guards there and rolling down to the city behind.

Ken gritted his teeth as he assessed the damage to the wall. The boulder had crushed down more than 3 meters into the wall's top. The guards there were crushed, leaving their blood on the remains of the wall.

But fortunately, the wall wasn't destroyed, and the 3-meter dent on the wall wasn't much, giving Ken a little peace of mind.

And by the time Ken was done checking, the monsters had arrived. "You there!" He pointed at a guard who jumped in surprise. "Tell the adventure guild that the matter has gone above what can be handled... Also, tell them there is a Horror Beast. And it's making its move!" He ordered.

Ken sheathed his sword and put a single explosive bullet in the revolver and closed the box full of bullets. He tossed the box into the monster tide and fired at it right before it hit the ground.

BANG!

Ken's perception slowed down as he watched the bullet he fired slowly reach the falling box and embed itself in.

Ken smiled.

BOOM!

BBOOOOOOMMM!!!!!

Ken's bullet exploded, followed by all the explosive bullets inside the box, making the other bullets inside that weren't explosive fly out. Some bullets naturally broke in the explosion, causing a cluster of magic and poison bullets to burst in the explosion.

The fire bullets rushed out with the poison mist while the ice bullets caused the place around it to become freezing cold.

The bullets that flew around also did tremendous damage, not to mention the fragments of bullets that pierced the skin and went into the monsters.

Above Ken's head, a golden crown appeared, and right above that crown, there was a kill count.

Literally, it was: Kills 797

And the number kept on increasing, slowly reaching the 4 digits.

Ken's status also popped up.
