Mana meditation! Neo's small help

8 am on day 5

Eleis groggily opened her eyes. She tried to change her position but felt a hold on her slender waist. She opened her eyes fully and stared; Ken was still sleeping. She watched him sleep for a bit and tried to adjust her position to a more comfortable one, trying not to disturb Ken.

After a bit of moving, she managed to change her position, her back pressed against Ken's chest while his hands were on her abdomen.

"You could have just asked me to let go," Ken's voice came, surprising Eleis, who turned her head. "Any movement would wake me up, so the moment you woke up and tried to change your position, I was awake," he informed.

Eleis made a pouty face that only made Ken smile and kiss her.

Chu!

Eleis happily kissed back, trying to learn how to kiss from Ken, who didn't have much experience.

Ken broke the kiss and got up, but Eleis had other plans. She held his hand and didn't let go, "You don't need to attend the events anymore, so why not do something productive~!" she cheerily suggested, making Ken pause.

He sat down and looked at Eleis to continue. Eleis also sat up, "I will teach you Mana meditation," she said, sitting cross-legged and gesturing for Ken to do the same, which he did.

Eleis tied her hair into a ponytail and held Ken's hands in a lock, entangling their fingers together, "Now channel your mana into me and I will do the same. We have equal mana, so this will be even better!" she exclaimed.

"Will your curse not affect your mana?" he curiously asked as he channeled to his hands and to Eleis, who did the same.

"That curse only works when mana leaves my body. The curse then forces the world to steal 1% of it, but since it is directly entering your body, the world can't steal it," she explained with a smile while both their mana mixed.

"You will feel a little discomfort, but that's all. Also, close your eyes," she advised. As she started pouring mana into Ken, he closed his eyes and increased the mana output equal to Eleis's.

Ken's body jerked at the sudden discomfort but calmed down immediately as well. They kept on channeling their mana to each other, and slowly Eleis started to feel her mana return to her from Ken while Ken felt his mana return to him.

Ken opened his eyes as he felt the change of mana flow, and he looked at Eleis in confusion. "Our mana started to mix," she simply said, which was more than enough for Ken to understand. "Now then, it will be a little irritating and maybe a little painful, but this is the main process," Ken frowned and nodded.

Eleis's mana started to become disorderly, and Ken's whole body became irritated as if there was an itch under his skin.

"What I am doing is widening your mana veins, or what you know them as magic circuits. This will increase the efficiency of mana use. You don't have a spell, but you can use mana in its raw form or convert it to an element and use it, which in many ways is much better than having a spell," Eleis pointed out as she started to make her mana more disorderly.

Ken silently watched as he let Eleis do what she wanted. He could feel her sincerity from their connection, but he was having a minor turmoil within him. His heart fully trusted her, while his logical mind refused to even acknowledge her help and brought up doubts.

His logical mind didn't trust Eleis one bit, even to the point that he created defenses and excuses against his heart. His eyes stared into her gray eyes, his heart beating slightly faster while his mind stayed silent but on guard.

Eleis's eyes shined purple and she glanced outside, her eyes seeing the void again, but there was a bright star in that void. Her eyes changed back again and she smiled mischievously.

"You know the stronger you get, the stronger I become~! I might just make a few spells and techniques just for you~!" Eleis playfully remarked, her demeanor completely changed.

Ken outside was unfazed, but both his heart and mind were in turmoil. His heart wanted to ask what was wrong while his mind tried to process the sequence of actions she took.

He glanced outside in the same direction she did, trying to figure out why she changed. He stared at her eyes that had just a moment ago turned purple in confusion and questioned but didn't ask, feeling her change was necessary for the moment.

After a while of silence, Eleis's eyes glowed again and her demeanor changed to her soft and patient side. Ken's mind formed many situations and reasons but also brought out some absurd thoughts. He countered those with logic where it was needed and his knowledge where he could apply logic.

His final conclusion: Need to understand Eleis more and find her true nature.

Neo looked at Thraxis, who had just arrived and was already preparing to depart, in confusion.

"Why are you in such a hurry?" she asked curiously.

Thraxis turned to Neo in curiosity as well, "Oh, you are awfully invested in our game. Do you want to join in?" he offered, but Neo shook her head. She had already made her decision and was already part of the game.

But in Neo's eyes, it was better for her to participate and be a secret from everyone except Ken. "I am invested but only because Ken and I have a contract. And he still has two more wishes," she replied, making Thraxis a bit disappointed but accepting it.

"Ok, then. Your first question. I am working on something that would help me get a better reading of the situation," he answered Neo's question.

"Better reading...?" she muttered but didn't care to ask further about that topic.

"Another question," she asked, making Thraxis curious.

"Go on."

"Whose side are you on? Ken's or Eleis's?" Neo's expressionless face changed to a serious one as she stared at Thraxis for answers.

Thraxis paused and looked at Neo. 'So, you are already playing the game...' he figured and smiled. "I lean to Ken's side, but I want them to become a duo as well," he answered sincerely.

Neo bewilderedly looked at him, completely unable to understand his motive anymore. "Your actions suggest you want to get rid of Eleis by using Ken."

Thraxis smiled, which turned to a grin and full-blown laughter, "Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!" he laughed heartily, making Neo frown.

After a bit of laughing, he looked into Neo's eyes. "I want Eleis to be gone, but I am incapable of doing that right now. And yes, I want Ken to get rid of her, but from my back. I don't care if she lives with Ken or anything, I just want her off my back. As for Ken, well, in a way you can consider us playmates who I got a long-ass game to play with," Thraxis announced as he looked at Neo.

"In this game, there are 3 players and 3 players only," he declared. "I as the omnipotent, Ken as the anomaly, and Eleis as the balance," he proclaimed with vigor.

Thraxis then tore the space and stepped through, thinking, "See ya! I got work now!" He bid his farewell and left the flabbergasted Neo.

After a while, she summoned the Book of Records, "Page 1,000,001," she called, and the page flipped to page 1,000,001.

She glanced at page 1,000,000, where she had written the conclusion of her meeting with Thraxis, and changed it a bit. Then she proceeded to fill page 1,000,001 with the conversation she and Thraxis had and her conclusion.

She was helping Ken from the shadows. He just needed to flip to page 1 million now...
