Ch 6 : First hunt

A week later, Seth was ready for his first battle on Acacia.

He was pretty nervous since it will be his first battle in both worlds. In fact, Seth has never been in a brawl before. Seth lived himself as a kind and problem-avoiding boy.

He would rather say sorry than making a big fuss about a problem. He knew that he has no one but his sister in the world. If something big happens, it would implicate both of their lives and Seth didn't want that.

For his preparation, Seth has leveled up his skills.

The invisible hand has been enhanced to level 2, increasing the power, speed, range, and the number of invisible hands into 4 while increasing the Sp cost into 2 Sp/minutes.

The skill levels can be enhanced if used rapidly and correctly. Most of the other users of invisible hands couldn't even use invisible hands correctly, that's why their level of invisible hand stuck and couldn't be increased.

Seth also prepared a special weapon for his first hunt.

The dagger was a surprise for him. Initially, it was a gift from his late father for his 7th birthday.

His mother secretly told him that his father spent a lot of money on the dagger and told him to cherish it.

Originally, Seth has an idea to pawn his dagger to buy a weapon. But when he used divine eyes of perception to appraised the dagger, the stats shocked him.

The dagger was a great weapon, and furthermore an E-Ranked weapon. If it was sold at the market, it could reach a price of 10,000 union dollars or about $100,000 in his previous world.

With all the preparation ready, Seth advances to the outer of the base city. His target right now is the Skyward forest. A forest 5 Km from his base city.

Seth's current domiciliation is in the Freedom minor base, under the jurisdiction of the great base united nation of Asia.

His path towards the Black Iron Forest was pretty smooth. He just needs to scan his Id chip on the gate to gain permission to go outside.

From there, there was a bus to the outer of Skyward forest. Many people work as mercenaries right now, as the pay was quite good, and there was a little chance of awakening by slaying some mutated beast and absorbing their aura.

Seth covered up his face with a mask, and use black cloaks. His outfit was not a strange sight there, as many of the mercenaries uses mask and a pseudonym.

1 hour later, the bus arrived at the outer of the Skyward forest.

Seth came down from the bus and was in awe of the majestic forest.

The Skyward forest is nowhere near the forest of the Earth. The plants were as tall as a skyscraper building in his previous world, and the luster of crystal making it look grand.

Seth walked closer to the entrance of the forest, but then he heard a voice.

"Hey Kid, you are a newbie aren't you, wanna join our team?"

The voice was not that strong but it somehow carries a strong feeling.

Seth looked toward where the voice is, and find an old man with a few middle-aged men and a woman behind him. They were all equipped in armor and look pretty powerful.

Seth somehow feels that the plot is not unfamiliar. A young transverser with newbie-looking equipment, going to his first hunting ground and meeting a group of mercenaries who try to recruit him.

'If I'm not wrong, the next plot should be the group of mercenaries looking down on the young tranverser'

"Kid, looking at your equipment and age. You should be a newbie mercenary right. how about joining our party and let us guide you."

The flow of the plot gives a headache to Seth. Normally the young tranverser will not accept the over and instead strike back at the mercenary group, making the two has a feud, and resulting in the young tranverser will get sabotaged by them in the forest.

"I'm sorry, but I must decline the offer."

Seth decline politely

"Today I'm just going to look around the forest and didn't want to implicate anyone."

Just before the old man could respond, Seth quickly left the group and enter the Skyward Forest.

The old man looks strangely toward Seth, but Seth just kept accelerating as all he wanted to is avoid the mercenary group and quickly find money.

10 minutes later, Seth finally found his first target.

It was a mouse the size of a mature bulldog. Seth used his Divine eyes of perception to examine the mouse.

Seth looked at the stats and felt pretty confident. The mouse stats were indeed higher than him, but without any awakened abilities, the mouse won't be able to counter the invisible hands.

"Okay Big Bad Mouse, I choose You!"
