Ch 14 : Graduation battle

- The next month -

" Good job for reaching level 10 Kiddo."

Old man Xia suddenly came out of nowhere, startling Seth who was still resting from his last hunt. Old man Xia's step was untraceable. It was neither slow nor fast, but somehow the appearance of Old man Xia would always surprise Seth.

" You could tell?"

Seth furrowed his eyebrows. If an Exceed could detect his levels, it would make things more troublesome to him.

" Who are you underestimating Kiddo, I could also tell that you are a "Stranger" right?"

After uttering the word "Stranger", All of a sudden Old man Xia's energy burst away with strong killing intent.

Gulping his saliva for one more time, Seth forcefully calms himself and pull-out a battle pose. His Sp hasn't fully recovered from his last hunt, but seeing the condition right now, he has no other choice.

Soon enough, the confrontation between them reaches its peak. Old man Xia slowly walking toward the direction of Seth.

Seth was really nervous inside. His opponent this time was a level 20 Exceed, the disparity between their stats was like 2 times. Just as soon as Seth about to aim his Glock 17 at Old man Xia, the old man stopped and laugh.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH, why are you so nervous Kiddo. Do you think I would kill you just because you are a Stranger?"

The tense atmosphere instantly disappeared and was replaced with laughter from all the swallowtail party members.

When he noticed that the party members were laughing at him, Seth knows that he was just getting pranked.

Seth was fuming and was gonna complain hard at Old man Xia, but Mr. Sato immediately interrupted him.

"HAHAHAHAHA, Don't take it seriously to the heart Seth. From the beginning, Old man Xia has told us that you might be a Stranger, and all of us have no problem with it. In fact, the united nation of Asia didn't hold much prejudice to Stranger. Most of the talented Stranger would be treated like how they treat an Exceed."

After hearing the explanation of Mr.Sato, all of Seth's tension instantly relieved. He knows that he was just getting pranked, but deep down he was still worried about his identity as a stranger.

" Well, in fact, all of us just wanna make fun of you for the last time. I would be lying if I said that I wasn't jealous of your growth. The weak youth we met 1 month ago now has stood at the same level as us. Now let's prepare for our last hunt together! It will be your graduation party. "

Mr. Sato finished his explanation and the other party member were cheering at Seth.

What just happened make Seth felt the warmth filled his heart. He never went to college and would never experience the feeling of graduating into society, however, he knew that the feeling he felt right now wouldn't be worst than those graduation parties at college.

Old man Xia clapped his hand twice and started speaking seriously.

"This opportunity would also be signified as your start to become a true Exceed, or Stranger on your part. We would find an early level 2 mutated beast, and you would need to hunt it alone. This would serve as your graduation test. Are you prepare for it, Seth?"

Those party members looked at Old man Xia with a touching gaze. They know that Old man Xia appreciates Seth a lot and sometimes treats him like his own grandson.

"Sir, yes sir!"

Determination filled Seth's eyes. He knows that the danger of this hunt would far exceed the past. But he could see the expectation in Old man Xia's and the thought of it filled him with joy and warmth.

The swallowtail wait for Seth Sp to recovered and proceed to look for the trace of a second-rank beast.

30 minutes later, The swallowtail party finally reaches the location of the second rank beast.

The second rank beast was a big wolf. Seth immediately used his divine eyes of perception to check the status of the wolf.

[ Description: wind wolf was an evolved version of a Lycan wolf, being larger and have the power to control the wind. ]

Seth nodded at the other swallowtail members and slowly approach the Wind wolf.

The reach of invisible hands now reaches 6 meters. It means that he needs to be at least 6 meters from the Wind Wolf to use the invisible hands.

Normally, Seth would look for the weak point of the mutated beast and instakill it with a shot. But a second-grade mutated beast is different than a first-grade mutated beast.

If Seth just shot at the Wind Wolf, The Wind wolf would be able to dodge the shot easily with its keen perception. So Seth needs to somehow hinder its movement before insta-killing it.

A wind blade flashed through the side of Seth's face, leaving a faint trace of cut on it.

The attack was very sudden, and none of the party members nor Seth expected it. Seth was lucky that somehow he was still able to dodge with the help of invisible hands.

"What the hell?"

He did succeed in dodging the attack, but the threat was far beyond his imagination.

Seth gulped his Saliva and observed the wind wolf carefully. He maximizes the divine eyes of perception, hoping that he could capture the movement of the wind wolf.

The beast and human locked eyes for a while. They know that when one of them started to move, a big battle will begin.

'It's coming'

Another wind blade flashed through, but this time Seth could easily dodge it.

Seth took the Glock 17 and fires two-shot at the wind wolf. Aiming to instakill the wind wolf was hard, but hitting the body was nothing difficult for Seth.

*SFX For Gunshot*

The two-shot hit the Wind wolf's body and make it bleeds. Utilizing the opportunity from it still wallowing in pain, Seth minimizes the distance and used the invisible hands to wrapped around the wind wolf and lock it down.

A great amount of pressure tightened around the wind wolf body. The Wind wolf tried his best to escape the invisible lock and thrashed around as if it was in pain.

BANG!!! BANG!!! BANG!!! BANG!!!

Seth fired four more shots, each at the limbs of the Wind Wolf.

The Wind Wolf shuddered in pain and fell. Its legs no longer have the strength to support its body.

Seeing the Wind Wolf has lost its standing, Seth came ate the front of the Wind Wolf and fire his last shot. Right at the brain of the Wind Wolf.

BANG!!!!

Accompanied by the sound of Gunshot, the brain of Wind Wolf burst, and the Wind Wolf instantly met its demise.
